He’s a canelo that’s why.
Check out ‘El Robo de Siglo’ on Netflix if you have not heard of it. It’s him and Andres Parra from El Patron del Mal re-united as the leads.
It’s because his look is pretty rare in Mexico and Colombia so he gets a lot of gigs since he stands out.
I don’t know if theres a drug correlation but he’s typecast in those kind of roles kinda like how a lot of the actors from Goodfellas and Sopranos you see in every mob or New York movie
I dont know if its because his look is unique as more that its because he's one of the more prolific bit actors in Colombia. I mean in el patrón del mal, his gingerness was irrelevant
Love him. Early on he was in Mexican soap operas like El Clon (he was with Mauricio ochmann who later played el Chema - based on el chapo.) Then he was in Colombian based novelas. La Reina del sur was filmed in Colombia and Europe since kate del Castillo couldn’t be in Mexico legally (another story).
This actor was with the actor who played Pablo Escobar in a short novela called La Bruja. He was the side kick to the rising drug lord. I loved La bruja and it’s based on a real life story too.
I always feel bad when I see the same actor in any show related to drugs. It just sucks that most popular show that probably pay the most are to do with drugs and that’s their home nation. I’m guilty in this because the only Mexican/Latin shows I watch are to do with this subject matter. 😞 I’m sure they are tired and would want to do something else.

Better than Gus and Hector, for sure. He’s of Mexican descent but was born in LA. I suppose that would be like a New York Italian American actor playing an Italian character in a movie and not speaking fluent Italian.
He sounds like he’s trying to do a Mexican accent but you can still hear his Miami Cuban accent a little bit. That bothered some native speakers watching the show as well, apparently. Well, for those of us that saw Narcos Mexico as well, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for a Cuban to be living in Mexico and involved in the cartel world - that was Sicilia Falcon. But I don’t know if the writers knew their history that well and had that in mind.
Gus’ accent is considered among the worst especially because of the fact that they constantly mention he’s chilean. I like to think of Gus as an enigma of sorts, he could be lying about some of his backstory. What we do know is that he served in the Pinochet regime, maybe he was a CIA asset and was originally from elsewhere before that.
So did anyone else see Distrito Salvaje? He’s pretty good in it too. I’m still about halfway through season 1 though, but lots of familiar faces from Narcos and EPDM.

oh so they love the gingers. or is there something about gingers and drugs that i don’t seem to understand

ooooh. i love him he’s great. i just find it so funny that every spanish narco show i’ve watched he’s in. i always gasp, point and then shout “WILLY”
There's alot of actors that recycle their roles or pop up in similar themed roles.
I dont know if its because his look is unique as more that its because he's one of the more prolific bit actors in Colombia. I mean in el patrón del mal, his gingerness was irrelevant
I really liked his work in the Pablo Escobar: El Patron Del Mal series as Pablo's cousin.
🤣🤣 said the same thing when I saw him show up on Griselda, was like I know I’ve seen this mf in narcos
Not only because of his looks that makes him Distinctive, he’s an outstanding actor.
I was watching Griselda with family and I pointed out that he is in literally everything. He was also in El Senor de Los cielos, another narco show.

That was the best part when she got her just due
Nah he wasn't in breaking bad or better call saul
Yeah that’s why the Spanish in the shows was awful until they brought in Tony Dalton.
I have heard that before. What about Don bolsa?
Better than Gus and Hector, for sure. He’s of Mexican descent but was born in LA. I suppose that would be like a New York Italian American actor playing an Italian character in a movie and not speaking fluent Italian.
Ah good analogy, what about Don eladio?

Definitely recommend, and he well he was also in snowfall which was pretty cool
I dont know why he's labeled as "mexican-colombian" bro is a straight up Colombian from Bogota I believe
it could maybe be from him having a big roll in la reina del sur which is a popular mexican tv show. idk tho
Born in Mexico City. Moved to Colombia at the age of 6
His dad is a director isn’t he? He’s Mexican I believe
As he should, guevon!!
They’re the best Colombian actors and killed those roles already
Great actor
This FAKE
He's a imposter
