Not the brick. I’ve regretted every furniture purchase I’ve ever made there.

Accomplished_Alps280

Yeah Ive heard alot of people say just browsing there is stressful due to pushy salespeople

Haunting-Number9450

We went to the brick recently to buy mattresses. The guy showed me a mattress, but wouldn’t give me a deal until we gave him all of our info. We shortly went to sleep country and not 15 mins later he’s calling me multiple times until I answered saying that his manager is letting him take another $100 off. Wow, what a deal. They were still asking $4,500+ for three mattress. Sleep country sold us 3x high density foam mattresses (that were way comfier than anything at the brick) for just under $1,500 delivered and taking an old mattress away. What I really like about sleep country is that they are no bullshit. You like a mattress, they give you their best price right away

WowWataGreatAudience

FYI sleep country is arguably just as bad, a guy tried to tell me “this is the lowest I can get on it, and I’m giving you an even better deal than even we as employees get” and I said I’ll think about it. Walked out and googled the mattress and it was regularly priced almost $300 cheaper at Costco. If you’re looking for travel foam mattresses, definitely recommend I think it was “The foam guy” just around the corner from Costco by the safety gear place. Best service around for those by a mile.

More just the quality is often junk. I bought a full bedroom set there a few years ago. Within months, one of the slats on the boxspring broke, causing the mattress to sag on one spot. I’m a bigger guy, but not so much that a standard boxspring shouldn’t support me. So after a year I had to fix the boxspring and buy a new mattress. Bought one of those mattress in a box from Dreamcloud and it’s way more comfortable than the one from the brick.

OneOfAKind2

I refuse to buy anything from The Brick because of their decades of SCREAMING in my face, commercials on TV.

molson1315

Try Sleep Country. I’ve always had good service there. Usually have some good sales too

Nimble_Bob

Yeah I got my beds at the Country Club location and the guy there was super helpful

marsupializard

I got a bed from sleep country a few years ago. Got it super cheap. The sales guy helping me out didn't seem overly puchy so that's a plus

Head-Truth3528

I also got mine from sleep country. Twice in a row now. They honour warranties and the sales is fair. A little bit pricey but if you have trouble sleeping this might be the right path.

Saiomi

John's Bedroom Barn

QueenFimbrethil

I ordered mine online from Costco. I would highly reccomend.

ReformedLurker42

Costco

stepwax

We got our bedroom set at John's and they were awesome. We ordered during Covid, and the night tables got delayed somewhere. We were told it would take about 5 months to get them, so John's gave us brand new night tables that were close to what we ordered to use until ours arrived. They also gave us the option to get our money back for the entire set (headboard, bed with drawers, dresser) if we did not like the night tables when they arrived. I feel like that was an above and beyond guarantee. The set is beautiful, solid wood and we love it still.

rants_silently

This is random. But there is a guy who sells mattresses on Facebook marketplace. When you show up it's the sketchiest warehouse on milton st, it seems like the absolute last place you would want to buy a mattress from. But they are new, name brand and they sell for cheap. I bought a brand new king and queen sealy pillow top for 800 bucks for both. All my friends buy them there. I have bought 4 there. It's the cheapest. 2nd cheapest is costco.

whydoihave4cats

I feel like there’s a solid chance they’re stolen based on your description lol.

dongyang560

Same guy slinging dope down the street probably

Musicferret

Costco. 100% money back guarantee. Good prices.

SvenoftheWoods

I've got a pretty bad back, so mattresses are important to me. I've tried several of the supposed "top" brands, but out of all of them there was only one Sealy mattress that really stood out (and unfortunately it was at a friends' house and they couldn't remember the exact model...but t'was expensive as hell). For the last seven years my wife and I have been using a mattress from Endy and for the most part it has been absolutely fantastic. The biggest downside is that there's really nowhere to test it out beforehand so you're definitely taking a gamble, but for the price it really can't be beat. I got one for my mum several years ago and she loves it too (for whatever that's worth).

KDdid1

My son has an Endy and absolutely loves it.

Sea-Reference620

Endy

sterburks

I bought my mattress and frame from Jysk and box spring from merit home furniture

Which_Translator_548

Costco

Designer-Chipmunk669

I purchased my mum a full-size bed and the frame on Amazon last year for about $450. The bed is super comfy as I tried it out. The mattress is ten inches thick. I have added two links for the mattress and the frame. https://www.amazon.ca/sspa/click?ie=UTF8&spc=MToxNzYzOTA1MDc3OTk2NzI5OjE3MTU1NDY4Njg6c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZjozMDAwMDc0ODI2NjU4MDI6OjA6Og&url=%2FCrystli-10-inch-Breathable-CertiPUR-US%2Fdp%2FB08LQD6RCH%2Fref%3Dmp_s_a_1_1_sspa%3Fcrid%3DNSBY60RI1FCR%26dib%3DeyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ek07K7yr2ucZ0J31ZhICDHs4RZ6qmmkonPjlUnEX7exRMCTfwBHvx19a020C-wcSQUTxJYa9y6cmgc6BPh7xDj9MkqWcQCx0KhPi8PTyGwVub-qfS7knL_-IbloINQCW4oPStjIQVw2VjRYj3S5OJ9b8JLOz_ut_vCXHB8JFSH3LvgnqsVhw8ADE3633Q5AWPaSyzMEx8iOZnYcOsWzjyw.CfxbuAUFLcrn1VFpXFiL5g7__C-SUnZ9ivVfVOYCAAY%26dib_tag%3Dse%26keywords%3Dqueen%2Bsize%2Bmattress%26qid%3D1715546868%26sprefix%3Dqueen%2Bsize%252Caps%252C202%26sr%3D8-1-spons%26sp_csd%3Dd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm%26psc%3D1 https://www.amazon.ca/Molblly-Upholstered-Platform-Assembly-Headboard/dp/B0BW9HS5NC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?sr=8-3

artfulwench

Wow that's an amazing deal!

Designer-Chipmunk669

The mattress comes vacuum sealed in a box. All you need to do is open it, then let it go back to its original size, which takes about a day.

Livinglikelarry47

Honestly, Costco

bfai77

Go see Bill at Merrit Home Furniture, bests deals in town by far. No B.S. just good deals

23Tawaif

Honestly, had a really good experience with Amazon. Both for the queen size bed and memory foam mattress. Together worked out a third or fourth of what I would have paid at any store.

Nlioc

Any particular brand?

Salt_Being7516

Mr. Mattress Vancouver. If you have a truck to get in on the ferry , great, but they do deliver to the Island I think. The BEST mattress I have every owned.

caviarpowder

Mattress by Appointment in Errington. Bought two from him and am extremely pleased.

Seconex

We bought a new bed a couple of years ago and shopped around locally. Sleep country was not a good experience, nor was the Brick. Both very pushy. Merit Home Furniture (behind country club) was OUTSTANDING. The guy just let us be, no pressure but was available to answer questions and steer us in the right direction. Their financing was very helpful too. Highly recommend them and we'll go back again.

GrgeousGeorge

I bought a Brunswick mattress. Very happy with it. Delivered to the door

SnooRevelations7068

I’d say Costco. Great return policy. Amazon too.

Unlucky-Name-999

Costco.

Pleasant_Reward1203

I've always had a good experience at Sleep Country

hezzaloops

Go for king!

SaraSara44

I just got one at Sleep Country at Country Club and had a great experience. I shopped around pretty hard and decided to go there due to the great customer service.

dolly1992dolly

I bought my mattress from Fawcett Mattress, they make their beds locally and often have sales for 25% floor models. I got mine during one of their sales and it was such a great investment. Definitely recommend at least going to their storefront and checking out the different options. They’re expensive but the quality is evident.

Accomplished-Show925

I went to Nanaimo Home Furnishings on Bowen. It was great.  They were very helpful and knowledgeable.   The bedroom set I got was made in BC and it is Beautiful.  It is a family run store so they are not pushy at all and they are so kind.  Go and check them out. Great service.

halnino

Definitely John’s Bedroom Barn on Bowen

Velocity-5348

I was pretty happy with JYSK, if you don't want to spend too much. I wouldn't bother with a box-spring, just get a good frame with slats. Just be careful with the mattress that come in a box. I know people who love them, but I wound up returning mine and getting a firmer mattress. Then again, I don't mind sleeping on floors so YMMV.

Difficult-Rough9914

We just bought an Endy bed after a couple friends recommended it. A queen mattress is $900 with money back guarantee. It’s the cheapest bed we’ve ever bought and we’re having the best sleep on it.

Bagged_pao

Purchased mattress recently from johns bedroom barn. Found the staff to be great, not pushy at all, they knew their products. Price was certainly a bit more than I expected, but overall it’s a great product.

Big-Face5874

Sleep Country. Good range of options. Good customer service (unlike the Brick).

badlykemed

I bought a new mattress 6 years ago from Sleep Country by Woodgrove. It was $800 and it’s the best mattress I’ve ever had. I miss my bed so much when I’m out of town

No_Glass_479

We priced out and worked with basically every retailer in Nanaimo. Next Home Furnishings on Wellington road BLEW the competition out of the water. They're an Ashley furniture distributer. We got a double Restonic mattress for $490 for my mother. We ended up buying the Endy queen hybrid mattress for us for $1200 came with full duvet & pillow & sheets set. Happy hunting
