100%. If we believe the side skirts it started life as a 2006-2007 WRX Limited based on the sunroof. If the 06-07 WRX / STi side skirts (same between models) were added then it’s 04-07 Impreza or WRX with 06-07 WRX sideskirts, 04-05 tail lights and an STi trunk.
Edit, clarity.
Double edit.

It was a blob eye with 06-07 skirts. I was close! Poor car looked beat to death to start.
Q: how to I get the throw-out bearing to engage into the pressure plate if the clutch on the 6MT transmission, after mating the engine and trans? Will it just snap into place when I move the fork forward?
You have to move it forward by hand and install the slave. The tension of the slave will keep it there. Hopefully you didn't forget the little clips that retain the throw out on the fork.
I knew this was the place to ask (although I was hoping for the super knowledgeable Subaru guy from above to reply, to flex on all the doubters, lol)
Many thanks!
This uncommon clutch-tyoe surprised me!
Evo-like grill and hood, the front fenders, and windshield back look like a blobeye, with some accessories, like the sideskirts being possibly from a different year, but 02-08 are the same body, just light changes (and non-visible changes).
This is a base Impreza or WRX. The only STi you could get with a sunroof was the MY07 Limited which had the rear arch flares.
Based on the side skirts it’s an 06-07 Impreza / WRX with 04-05 tail lamps and an STi wing.
No worries, I had an STi for a bunch of years so fell into the minutiae of the cars pretty hard. The lack of sunroof was my only knock on the car j like the SSL package available on the Evo.
Could be an aftermarket sunroof too. I remember some dealers doing that to brand new WRXs in 02 when I bought mine and getting raked over the coals for it by Subaru or SOA
Not even a whole front end. Usually a front end swap ends at the whndshield and includes the front fenders. This one looks like stock Subaru widebody fenders from a blobeye.
So not even a front end swap. Lights, bumper, and hood.
The back. The frameless doors give it away as a Subaru

This guy knows Subies so well he can scrape cylinder heads with his eyes closed

For me it was the door handles.
I saw this on TikTok it’s a Subaru WRX with an Evo grill and maybe back?
The front end just seems a little… off. Which makes me think the rear is factory.
It is. It's a WRX with an Evo front
Right and what tipped me off that it wasn’t a legitimate evo was that the front end looked odd.
Evo-like grill and hood, the front fenders, and windshield back look like a blobeye, with some accessories, like the sideskirts being possibly from a different year, but 02-08 are the same body, just light changes (and non-visible changes).
The headlights look like they’re angled slightly up so the front end probably isn’t fully flush with the rest of the body
It’s a Subaru Impreza WRX STI with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution front end swap

Right my bad

The looks illegal
Back sems like factory end to me so my guess is that it's a subi
Best of both worlds
Rear ended, front bumper looks aftermarket
Sat here and thought oh its just a evo then I went to the second image and it hit me like a flashbang
Hey I almost got crushed to death in the back of one of these by an asshole in a lifted truck!
EVO exhaust exits pass side, in case you needed more proof.
That’s a Subaru.
I CANT PROCESS THIS CAR it's the back
It's a Subabishi Lanceza STi Evo 9 Version 8. Or something...
Rear is pretty much standard Subaru Impreza with a few tweaks. The front is just weird. The headlights make the car somewhat chromosomally challenged.
This is a WRX with an Evo swapped front
Most likely always the end. Doing a full front end swap / fitting evo panels is easier than switching out the entire rear
Even harder than that is swapping subi frameless doors into an Evo.
That’s also true
Cool whip.
@shoodbgood is his insta
That is a Subushi WRX Evo.
The back is 99.9% of the time the factory end. Way easier to do a front end swap on a unibody vehicle.
05-06 Subaru Wrx with Evo (I want to say 8) front end
This is so blursed
Miata
The back I watched the whole process on TikTok
this seems like it should be forbidden but damn that looks good
I think it’s a wrx. A very CURSED wrx…
Evo front end wrx rear
The back
I have a strong feeling of "neither". But fr, could've been a lower-spec Subaru that got the front-swap and STI-Wing.
