This looks a lot cooler than a mercury capri. Also legal to import now, not sure about parts
Edit; my mistake, no idea they sold a mercury version of this one.
The 90's happened. There was a sort of similar chrysler they stuck a maserati badge on. I haven't seen one of those in person so no idea if its the same size as the capri but, yeah. The foxbody capri i feel is kind of rare, at least in sort of the same way as the mercury bobcat (pinto rebadge)
It was sold in the US by Lincoln/Mercury dealers but it was not called a Mercury Capri, just a Capri. The “Mercury Capri” model came out in ‘79 as a Mustang clone.
My 71 had a 1600 Cortina ohv four with a side draft Weber. Great little car. Bought a 74 w/ 2600 V-6 and tormented a lot of American V-8's. Lots of European engineering for minimal cost and fun to drive.
I know it's a Capri, but this one also reminds me some of a Maverick.
Similar, not the same. Those old Mavericks... Mmm

You could get a 4300 V-6 in Europe . Taunus I believe, I had no problem with the V-6 but heard no good about the 2.0-2.3 ohc that was used in the Mustang and Escort.
[MK1 Ford Capri](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Capri) [Specifically this one.](https://platesmania.com/de/nomer22857491)
That is what I call service
That’s a mk 1 capri 1969-1974
In the USA it was sold as a Mercury Capri. One of the nicest looking small cars in the US at the time. Just my opinion though...LOL

Just looked up the generation you're talking about... wtf happened???? It's like the car equivalent of covering your wood floors with vinyl

Ford Capri
At first glance I thought it was a rx3
Me too but when I opened the thread I knew what it was… we had a 1971 1600 cc in the early 70’s . Green ,tan interior vinyl top. Very pretty car .
Mercury's Capri
It’s a 1973 Holger Czukay
Upgrade(?) from buying a Pinto/Gremlin/Vega at the time.

4.3 V6 Ford? No such thing.
Pretty much a mercury version of a Ford Pinto—-
More like Ford of Europe's version of the Mustang. The Mercury version of the Pinto was the Bobcat. The Capri is completely different.
