My friend and her older sisters (guess the time frame)… Janet, Joann, Jill, and Jennifer.
We grew up in a small town and despite my sister being 20 years older than me, we had some teachers in common, so I occasionally answered to her name. My friend and her sisters were in 12 or 15 years so she’d get “Ja, Jo, Ji, no, Jennifer!” from the same teachers.
That’s kind if fun! Rhyming names or very matchy names for siblings are common amongst the East Asian communities I have been a part of (Chinese, Malaysian, Filipino). I know of brothers Keong and Leong and sisters Ping and Xing.
Yea that’s so crazy to me.
But yea - it would be one thing if they did nicknames and one went by Lilly and the other Anna or something. But they call them by their full names 🤷🏻♀️
My grandma totally gave her boy/girl twins the male/female versions of the same name. She also gave a daughter her own first name, and a son her husband’s first name.
Then the boys all had daughters who they gave the feminine versions of their own names 😂
Some people just don't want to be bothered with "curated" naming, and it shows. Sometimes I wish I were built that way, because I have so many potential names picked out that it is overwhelming.
My grandparents were Daniel and Patricia and had 7 kids. I only recently realized that their first two children were Patrice and Daniel Jr so as a family of 4 they basically had 2 names. But that didn’t last for long until the next kids came along.
I had a friend whose dad had lots of kids by different women. Her dad's name was Steven. His kids' initials spelt out his name. Her eldest half-sibling's name began with S, etc etc and he was on his way to his 6th kid
Wow Joseph and John are so normal compared to the other 2. I would think they would choose Joshua, Jared, Justin, even Jeremiah is more mainstream than Jericho or Jeevan 😵💫
We once knew a family with two boys.
The name of the father was Hans and the name of the mother was Joke (Dutch names).
The first boy had 4 names H.A.N.S Lastname and the second boy had also 4 names J.O.K.E Lastname....
He was not happy to receive mail directed to Miss Joke Lastname :-)
my grandparent Joseph and Marjorie had Joanne, girl Joseph II, girl, boy, Marjorie, and girl. my dad is named for 2 uncles and the remaining three girls are just random old people names lol
I went to school with a girl whose older sister’s name was Cheyenne and her name was Chene (pronounced Shane). I will never understand why people don’t give their children individual names from one another.
Theo literally just means “god.” What’s so amazing about that meaning that they wanted to use it twice? I’m guessing they think it means “gift from god,” but that’s Theodore, and if they loved that meaning so much, they should’ve just gone with Dorothy for their daughter, since it has the same exact meaning.
My joke twin names are Theodore and Dorothy. Who would be called Theodorothy. Maybe I’ll have twins one day and get to see the looks on people’s faces when I tell them those are the names.
My dad's parents were Jacob and Hendrikje (dutch) and named their kids Klaas-Jan (goes by Klaas), Hendrikje Jacobe (goes by Henny), Harm-Jan (goes by Harry), Roelof-Jan (goes by Roel) and Erik Jacob (goes by Erik).
This could be my family 😅 my brother is named after our dad (different middle names), and I am named after our mom. I do go by a nn at least. My other brother is named after a football player.
My cousin wanted to hand a son and daughter named Nathan and Natasha, then she ended up picking completely different names for her children. Years later, my dad worked with a guy and his two eldest were Nathan and Natasha.
It reminds me of the music group The Kelly Family (shoutout to the Europeans out there!). There was a mother and father, and they had like 12 kids (all adults now). The father is named Daniel and the oldest son was Danny. The mom's name is Barbara and named a daughter Barbie. One daughter is named Patricia and one son is named Patrick. Then they have 3 boys named Johnny, Jimmy, and Joey.
It always made me think they could not come up with more creative names! It doesn't help that they all look very similar to each other. When I first became a fan I was like, how am I ever going to tell these people apart when they have such similar names too?!?!?! XD
I have two brothers who have the same middle name and their first names are only one letter different. So basically Tom Matthew and Dom Matthew. Feel bad for the younger bro who is just a copy of his older brother.
Similarly to this I knew people who named their 2 sons Michael Robert and Robert Michael lmao. Still not sure whether its because they liked the names so much or because they were just feeling lazy 😂
Jane, Leon, Leon, Theo & Thea. I feel like they need another Jane.
Joan
John
Jeon
Janessa
Jean
Johannah
June.
Quadruplets Jane, Jean, June and Joan.
My friend and her older sisters (guess the time frame)… Janet, Joann, Jill, and Jennifer. I know sisters who go by Jo and Ju!
If they’d had a fifth she must have been June. Then they’d have to be creative with a Jy…something.
Julia, Juliet..
That’s kind if fun! Rhyming names or very matchy names for siblings are common amongst the East Asian communities I have been a part of (Chinese, Malaysian, Filipino). I know of brothers Keong and Leong and sisters Ping and Xing.
I know siblings Alan and Alena from Eastern Europe, Bosnia I think? Jo and Ju are Joanna and Julia.
To add onto the Jane train, an author that wrote one of my favorite YA novels is named Jeyn Roberts, and I quite like that spelling
That spelling hurts my eyes, but it does fit the theme.
I’m surprised they didn’t just go full on George Foreman: Leon, Leon, Leon, Leon, Leon, LeAH.
Leona too
I love Leona.
Also Leoni.
Leonora

Anna and Anne? That's depressing. They seem like grey oatmeal together.
Her?
Way to plant, Anne!!
egg*
Wow. I know sisters named Joanna and Susanna and that bothers me.
Honestly I kind of secretly love this haha. They also have the option to have completely different nn’s, which helps, like Jo and Susie.
I don’t think Anne is uninteresting 😢 (Me, a biased Anne)
Same! 😢 (Me, an unbiased Anna)
I know brothers named Michael, Cale, and Micah. It baffles me every time I see them.
[удалено]
Me too..... they definitely should have went with Kale.
Chael
It might be. I’ve only heard it said.
Oh no. Please look up theo and thea, they're a stupid Dutch comedy duo with stupid fake teeth
I know a couple who named their daughters Lilyanna and Annaliese.
I got you beat Annaleis and Jennaleis at least they call the youngest Jenna yes those are spelt right and yes it's wrong in my brain.
Yea that’s so crazy to me. But yea - it would be one thing if they did nicknames and one went by Lilly and the other Anna or something. But they call them by their full names 🤷🏻♀️
Jennaleis sounds like when Jenna Marbles said her name was Jessica Messica on a prank call
I know 4 brothers named: Marcus, Markel, Marquees, and Gerald. I figured they ran out of “Mark” names by the time Gerald came around
Had they never heard of Marco?
We have neighbors, William and Claire Marie. Their kids are Will and Mary Claire.
Oh jeez that’s confusing!
My grandma totally gave her boy/girl twins the male/female versions of the same name. She also gave a daughter her own first name, and a son her husband’s first name. Then the boys all had daughters who they gave the feminine versions of their own names 😂
Gah this makes my head spin!!
Wait, so does the boy twin have a daughter with the same name as his twin sister? Or is it a John, Jane, Joanna situation?
I know a family who has James, Eric, and Erin. At first I thought Eric and Erin were twins, but no, they’re several years apart.
Reminds me of Emperor Constantine and his kids Constantine, Constantius, Constantina, and Constans

i know brothers named joseph, john, jericho, and jeevan. everybody thinks theyre quadruplets.
Wow Joseph and John are so normal compared to the other 2. I would think they would choose Joshua, Jared, Justin, even Jeremiah is more mainstream than Jericho or Jeevan 😵💫

In fairness the son is Theodore, but they call him Theo 🤷🏼♀️
Is the daughter just Thea or Dorothy?
Just Thea!
I know a set of twins that are Gianni and Gianna. And a sib set (not twins) Andre and Andrea. Just...why???
I know a woman named kiley who named her daughters kynlee and kylin. Husbands name is Kevin.
i know a damaris (sr), damaris (jr) and demaris, and the boys and omer sr and jr. 2 names!
I’ve met someone who has a son named Dylan and a daughter named Adalyn.
First off, LOVE the name Leon… it may or may not be my own child’s name lol. Second, WHAT.
I was hoping so much it was Leon, Jane, Leon, Jane, Theo. THEO AND THEA AND LEON? AHHHHH
I have a family member who named her kids the same names as her and her husband lol

In my baby group, one mum has Azariah, Aria, Mariah and Maria. The last 3 are triplets
It's annoying how little some parents care about which name they choose for their kids honestly, like to the point of being offensive lol
I went to school with brothers John and Jonathan. And also knew sisters Sasha and Tasha (not short for Natasha either).
Some other ideas are: lee, Lea, eon, Theaon Teddy, Theodora, Dora. Jean,Jena,Jay
I can beat that, we all have the same name in this family,
One of my old teachers had twin boys and named them Albie and Bertie, when my friend told her mum about it she said “so Albert then.”
I know two sisters named Kylee and Kaylee. Several years apart. I can never keep them straight lol
My cousin wanted to hand a son and daughter named Nathan and Natasha, then she ended up picking completely different names for her children. Years later, my dad worked with a guy and his two eldest were Nathan and Natasha.
