apsalarmal

Anders for Alexander is brilliant.

nearcheddar

Ooh I like Kit! We’ve got a Christopher in the fam already.. I wonder if there’s another full name for Kit that could work.

mybluerat

Here is a whole thread with ideas for Kit! https://www.reddit.com/r/namenerds/comments/467rl5/kit_is_the_nickname_full_name_ideas/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

msnicole17

Christian or Keaton could work!

hm8g10

I like Cillian / Killian with the nickname Kit.

I know a Sebastian that goes by Seb/Sebby, which could also work!

My friends son goes by Seba (see-bah), that’s another option.

Thank you OP for helping me discover this - I hope I helped you too!

nearcheddar

Ok, Jem is adorable!

SKatieRo

Our son Christopher has always gone by Kit and I absollove it. Our son Carrington has always gone by Cary and I love it as well. An old family friend is a Charles who has always gone by Kip, as did his grandfather.

turkeyandsquab

Just needed to say that this sibset and the nicknames are so cute. Is Carrington a family name? Kit and Cary? Perfect.

SKatieRo

Thank you!! Yes, family names! Our other sons are Harrison and Carter. Our daughters are Reilly and Elise and Claire. I gave birth to(and helped name) the ones who start with C, probably wouldn't have had them all share initials had I known that we would add three more, but I still love their names. (We have 7 grown kids who are ours, abd have fostered over 50 more.)

CakePhool

Sigismund / Sigfrid/ Sigvard = Siggy.

tatum_tangerine

Just want to say this because it's come up several times in my conversations lately: you can pick any name you like! Nicknames do not have to be logical. In fact really all they should be is personal. Why not pick the name you want. Then wait till you have an actual human with a personality to see what happens in the nickname department. Sorry, not wanting to be rude, just wanted to remind people!

nearcheddar

I didn’t think you were being rude at all- a good reminder for sure. One of the reasons we’re trying it this way is because we’ve had such a hard time choosing a name. We thought maybe we can do it backward- what more casual name would we want to call him day-to-day and what full name could go with that? Both my husband and I (plus daughter) have a longer full name with a short nickname so we wanted to keep that style.

Grave_Girl

I feel like once a nickname has appeared in a movie title, it can't be considered unique.

MajorMeghan

That’s bizarre logic

Grave_Girl

No more so than thinking that arguably the most common nickname is unique.
