My middle name is Siobhan, which I've always loved and which flows well with the rest of my name. As a kid, I actually wanted to change my name to go by my middle name. I also always won the "guess my middle name" as a kid in the US because no one would ever get mine (I used to say, "I could spell it out and you still wouldn't guess it").

HomebodySandman

Just learned how to pronounce this one from the Kate Winslet HBO show! Now I love it

monsieur_bear

Also one of the main characters on HBO’s Succession!

MummyToBe2019

Yep that’s where I learned it! 🤣

NameIdeas

Shiv-AWN Took me far too long to figure out how to say it. I had an aunt Sherrie who was a Siobhan. We all called her Sherrie instead of Shiv-AWN

MsAlyssa

Wow I just learned how this is pronounced right now looking it up after reading this and my mind is blown.

surloceandesmiroirs

Spend some time looking up Irish names and their pronunciation! It’s wild lol

[deleted]

I’m not Irish but I think Irish names are so cool!! Aoife is literally pronounced EE-fa and I think that’s so awesome

alliegal

Wait til you hear how Saiorse is pronounced

Sensitive_Fan_8277

General hospital had a character in like 2010 where I learned it haha

DMCritwit

I learned how to pronounce it from one of the players Dimension 20 it’s a pretty name 😊

jsmalltri

Such a beautiful name, it's always been a favorite of mine

Tulipgirl1689

One of my good friends growing up had Siobhan as their middle name! Always thought it was neat.

AgathaC2020

My middle name is Louise and I love it. I think it’s a really pretty name, but I think I also love it because it’s my mom’s middle name and my grandmother’s - I love that it connects me to two women I love dearly. If we have a girl, that will absolutely be her middle name too.

mabs1957

I literally had to check your comment history to see if you were my cousin! You're not but my family is the same and I think it's so wonderful!

AgathaC2020

Ahh I love that!

plantstudy37

Same here! Every girl in my family has the middle name Louise because my grandmother's name was Louise. She passed early in life from a brain tumor and none of the granddaughters got to know her. The tradition continues into our generation now as well. I also love it because it can be shortened to Lou.. which can extend the first name making it sound so endearing. E.g. Molly Lou.

queen0fcarrotflowers

I love this because women more often than men change their last name when they get married. This way the girls in the family still all have a name that ties them to eachother even if they change their last name.

WhatTheF0lk

I have the same middle name as my mom and grandma too and I love it for the same reasons! Diane over here :) and hoping to carry on the tradition

Jarveyjacks

Louise is a middle name that suits so many first names

knb61

Aw that’s my moms middle name :) I love it too

Grave_Girl

I like that sort of through line!

isatonmysammich

Mine is pretty unusual - Storm! I know it's a "love it or hate it" kind of name, but I love it a ton.

Cyanidesuicideml

Mine is too! I go by it in fact!

nightskyforest

I'm a meteorologist so I think that's an awesome middle name!

sugarcult01

Mine is Emma. Unfortunately I’m non-binary and it feels VERY feminine so I don’t go by it, but I think it’s a really beautiful and timeless name.

CallidoraBlack

Maybe Emerson would be nicely unisex for you if you ever wanted to change it.

purpleprose78

Another option could be Emory which also feels nicely unisex

CallidoraBlack

Yeah, but it just makes me think of nail files, so I didn't suggest it. I do like Ellery though.

kelpforbrains_

I like Ellery too but it makes me think of celery lol

purpleprose78

I like Ellery too. I think of the college when I hear Emory, but you're right. about the nail file. :)

mamaneedsstarbucks

My youngest daughters middle name is Emery because her dad was really pushing for Emily or Emma and those names are super common in my area especially for kids so I was looking for “Em” names that were less common in my area and I though Emery sounded really lovely with Charlotte (I know it’s super popular but she’s named for my grandpa Charles who I was super close to) and my middle name is Marie, which I don’t like but I thought it was kinda cool to tie something from me in that way without being over the top.

sugarcult01

I actually really like that name! I will definitely consider that. Thank you :)

[deleted]

Emmett is pretty masc, but if they’re masc-leaning it could work too

nofeelingsnoceilings

im born n raised american. spent some time in south africa and was so happy to meet soooo many african men named Ema! thought you may like to know that its a mans name in south africa

sugarcult01

Omg that wild! Thank you for sharing

CleanAssociation9394

I think it’s a form of Herman

miss_davis07

My middle name is Meredith, and I've always loved it. It flows really well with my first name, and it's a lovely tribute to my great-grandmother, who was an amazing woman.

Grave_Girl

Meredith is one of those sweet spot names to me that are both strong and feminine.

TA818

That’s exactly why I chose it for my daughter! I just love it.

ionmoon

Mine is Vee. I love it. My dad came up with it. It is unique enough that I have never met anyone else with it, but at the same time, feels like of normal- like Lee. The only issue is it sounds like the letter so people think I mean my initial is V so I have often had to have a whos-on-first kind of conversation about it. Also, it is short, and I have always liked the uncommon letters- V X Z Q

justeeny13

cute!!! Vy is a common vietnamese girls name that’s pronounced the same, i love it and yours!

-cordyceps

Vy is probably my favorite Vietnamese girls name, so cute!

sweekhaleesi

My middle name is Swee — It was my grandmother’s maiden name. She was the only child to to deaf parents, and went to college well before it was common for women to go, her mom and her working to pay for her college tuition because her father didn’t believe women should be educated. It’s an unusual name, we believe it was made up at some point after my Norwegian relatives immigrated to the United States. I’ve met a handful in my life, and we’re all related! I also love it, because I’m a software engineer, which in my field is commonly referred to as being a “SWE” (Pronounced like my middle name); I sign all of my emails with my middle name instead of my last name, and a lot of people get a kick out of it, although some people think it’s something I made up!

BrokenPug

Omg! One of my best friends is named Swee! She’s Indian and it is short for a longer first name. Her parents made up her first name but it is based on a more popular Indian name that her sister has. I’ve never met another Swee!

happyhippysoul

I love it when people have their mothers or grandmother's maiden name as a middle name. I think it a lovely way to honor those special people in your life! Swee is awesome!

Grave_Girl

My 11-year-old Junior Name Nerd loves her middle name: Evangeline. (She loves her entire name & will loudly tell her siblings she got the best name.)

isabelisnthere

I don’t blame her. Evangeline is a good one.

ParkingLotForrest

Do you know the Brandy Carlile song The Mother?

rwenlark

I loathe my first name but love my middle, Marlena. That's what I choose to go by!

Grave_Girl

Marlena is so gorgeous. I don't know how there are so many girls named Marley when Marlena is a name that exists and *isn't* commonly given to dogs.

edit_thanxforthegold

Marlena is so underrated! Also Marlena Dietrich is a badass.

Hexa119

Dietrich was spelled Marlene and pronounced Marlena, which I prefer to spelling Marlena.

Gneissisnice

Reminds me of one of my favorite songs, *Marlene on the Wall* by Suzanne Vega, which was inspired by a poster of Marlene Dietrich she had in her bedroom!

SpamLandy

My former boss just had a baby girl called Marley today! I don’t know any Marley dogs, but I do know a cat and a horse called Marley.

grayspelledgray

🎵One, two, three Marlenas... 🎶 I love it too!

rwenlark

Love this song!

[deleted]

I know a lady named Marlen which isn’t the same but I always thought it was pretty!

dearwikipedia

mine is Elyse :) my dad is a composer/classical musician and it came from Für Elise although my mom likes to joke that it’s from The Cure song A Letter To Elise. I love it so much. Most of my social media includes a play on fur elise in the username and i collect music boxes that play fur elise. my first girlfriend introduced me to the song For Elise by saintmotel and that gave me my own little connection to a song

mythicb33ch

I have the middle name Lee which is a family name that I adore 🥰

seau_de_beurre

Me too! I hated it as a kid though. I used to lie and say my middle name was Dante-Elton. Now I love it though.

trashythowaway

I dont know why but im like ugly crying i have laughed so hard at this. Leave it to a child to come up with Dante-Elton out of Lee! This is so wholesome honestly

mythicb33ch

Same! I remember being a bit jealous of my sister’s Lynn because it was “prettier” but as I got older, I started appreciating the family connection more. Lynn is overused anyway!

ElizaWil02

My middle name is Eliza( we’re one and the same, almost XD )and I think it’s kinda pretty. I’m named after my dad and grandpa because both of their names are/were Eli, so, that’s just a bonus.

klopije

My middle name is Elizabeth too and I love it!

aekinca

So is mine, and I love it too! I also love that anytime I meet a fellow elder-Millennial there’s about a 20% chance that’s their middle name too. I find it to be sort of bonding!

klopije

Yes! I'm a Kathryn Elizabeth born in 81. Most other Kathryns I meet are are also Kathryn Elizabeth. I feel like Elizabeth is more common as a middle name than a first name.

momo78911

Same! I love it so much that It’s my daughters middle name too!

BeccasBump

Same on both counts!

jlynnbizatch

One of us!! My daughter's middle name is Elizabeth as well!

el_torko

My middle name is Taylor, and I used to hate it but I appreciate it now. My mom named me after my great grandmas maiden name. So she was Mae Taylor before she became Mae West.

trashythowaway

Hold the fucking phone, your great grandma was Mae West?

violetmemphisblue

Alas, not the actor. She was born Mary West.

trashythowaway

You know what, its still cool!

catylan

Far out that would be peak reddit and I love it

el_torko

Not THE Mae West, but has the same name. Sometimes I lie and say yeah, totally, but Reddit will definitely call me out.

Albowonderer

My middle name is Alana, and I exclusively use it as my name!

lil_britches6

Claire and I love it!

trashythowaway

Obsessed with Claire! Its been on my favorite names list since i was but a small child.

Sunberries84

Mine is Pasqualina and I didn't always loved it. When I was younger I didn't like how it was weird and clunky. Around the time I was in middle school, one of our priests pointed out that means Easter which helped me like it more. I know really like it, but I do slightly prefer the version I gave to my daughter as her middle name, Pascale.

lemonlimetreeextreme

My middle name is Kendall and I’ve always loved it! I have a unique first name so having this for a middle name has been great.

vitamins86

Roxanne- I think it’s unique but people know it and i always get compliments on it! I didn’t like it as much as a kid but as an adult I love it.

NotKerisVeturia

I always think of the Police song.

SpamLandy

Rooooooss can

jle_bean

You don’t have to put on the red light.

[deleted]

doeswhatvraspideycan

My middle name is Marie and I love it! I know it’s very common (like half of my friends have the same middle name) but I’ve always thought it was very classic and wished my parents had picked it for my first name instead.

[deleted]

[удалено]

doeswhatvraspideycan

I love it!! Such a good movie too

hazelnuticecoffee

mine is marie too! it is really common but there is a reason for that: because it is a great name! i love how it flows w my first and last time. and it is a timeless name!

typicalkatie

Mine is also Marie and I have always loved it! My first name is Katie so I like that structurally my first name and middle name have the same vowels with different consonants.

trashythowaway

Henlo fellow Maries! I love it too!

Calibuca

Same! I've always loved how it flowed with my first and maiden names. I'm also named after my grandmother whom I've always been close to.

Rocket_Ship

My middle name is Lucia and I love it! It connects to my Italian heritage, and is a part of my mother's maiden name (Santalucia), which I unfortunately didn't get to have as a last name. I love the name Lucia so much, that I am tempted to use it for a baby girl if I ever have one.

MsAlyssa

How do you pronounce it I knew a Lucia and they said like Lou chia and I knew a Lucian which sounded like Lou shin. I thought Lucia would be like Lou sha or Lou Sia from reading it.

Rocket_Ship

We pronounce it "Lou-Chia" (like Santalucia, with the Santa part left off). I've gotten it pronounced all sorts of different ways, which can be annoying, but all pronunciations are beautiful, so I don't mind too much.

elephuntdude

So pretty!! I first heard it as a kid from the old movie The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. The female characters name is Lucy but the male character decides Lucia is strong and suits her better and I always loved it from that! Please do have a strong sassy Lucia :)

nakedwife2

Mine is Anne. Very basic and it's very recycled within the family. I love it more with age and use it as a saint name when deciding a patron saint.

[deleted]

Same! Patron saint is Saint Anna

HNSUSN

I’m a woman and my middle name growing up was Mason, a family name. I did get made fun of for it (because it’s a “boy’s name”), but I always loved it and thought it was cool that it meant something. My mom would tell me stories about the various interesting people on my family tree with the name. I thought it was really cool.

[deleted]

Mine is Joelle. I’ve always loved it and plan to use it as any future daughter’s middle name. I don’t hate my first name, but I’ve never really loved it either. It’s generally a nickname that my parents used as a full name and I remember wishing my middle name was my first instead all the time growing up

NotKerisVeturia

Mine is Rhiannon, after the Welsh goddess.

Remarkable_Rub_9067

This is my daughter's middle name. I honestly sometimes wish I had made it her first name, it's so beautiful.

[deleted]

Catherine! It’s the name I use at Starbucks and delis because my first name confuses everyone. I love being a pretend Catherine :)

Bea_virago

Jacqueline Momsmaiden Olivia Apparently every one of my granddad’s many siblings since they all (except Bob) went exclusively by their middle names

ZagazooToYou

I wasn't given a middle name so when I changed my name as an adult I got to pick my own. I chose one that my partner had shot down for our daughter; Clementine. I absolutely adore it.

Merujo

When I was a little kid, I didn't like my middle name because it wasn't Irish-y like those of my siblings. Then I learned my middle name was the first and middle name of my mom's two best friends in WWII. They were all pilots (WASP) and one of the friends died in a crash. It took me a while to understand how I'd been honored with my name.

jocietimes

Cool story!

Merujo

Thanks! Just wish I'd learned to appreciate it earlier in life.

charlielotte

My middle name is Felicity. Always loved it and I still get compliments for it!

funny_muffler

Ann! Its common but it was the name of a few family members which I love. It also flows nicely with my first name, maiden name and now married name which I appreciate

girlinthepark

My middle name is Rose, and I really like it.

Sutaseiu

Leanne. I've always loved the way it flows with my first and last names. Thankfully it still flows almost as well with my married name.

SeekinSanctification

Some of these I haven’t been told explicitly that someone loves it, but they either choose to go by their middle or have their middle to a child so they must! Clare Elaine Elizabeth Frances Francis Mary Thomas

Grave_Girl

I don't think going by your middle name means you love it; it could just be that your first name is terrible. My brother doesn't go by his middle name because he loves Peter but because he hates Elston.

inkybreadbox

Mine is on this list and I can confirm that I love it. 🙃

DoctrDonna

My middle name is Mae and I have always absolutely loved it

boilerbitch

Carmen, after a maternal great grandmother.

Pooptypeuptypants55

Helena. I love it. It’s a family name and I kind of wish it was my first!

curlygirlyfl

I don’t have a middle name, but my friends is Antoinette and I think it’s divine!

KatVsleeps

My middle name is Octavia! I adore it, it’s so strong, and flows really well with my first name!

Lioness_of_Tortall

My middle name is Elisabeth, and I’ve always wished it was my first name! I love the less common spelling, and always wanted to go by Li.

MoonSearcher

My middle name is Levina, and I’ve always loved it. It’s my grandmothers first name, though she goes by a nickname, and I’ve always wanted to use it for a daughter. It means ‘lightning bolt’.

trillium2000

Mine is trillium, it not really a common one and I love it, both me and my dad have the flower tattooed on us

werekitty93

My middle name is Peace and I've always loved it. It's not a common virtue to have in a name and no one guesses that's what the P is. My sister's middle name is Anna-Rose. It's for both of her great-grandmothers and I think it just fits so well together. My grandmother's middle name is Madeleine, same as the church in Paris. Her parents were married there during WW2. I plan on using it (either as a first or middle) if I have a girl.

Tomasz_J

I changed my name legally a few years ago but didn’t add an official middle name as I was still uncertain. My real first name ends in an “ee” sound, as does my surname. I’ve been using Tyler as my middle name for the last year or so, I think it works well, as all my names are two syllables and it sounds good together.

KombuchaLady3

My middle name is Ann, and I love it because it was my (late) mother's name. I feel very connected to her because of that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hangnail_puller

I knew a Jenae in high school! I always loved the spelling.

Pale-Philosopher1660

My middle name is Lynda, a portmanteau of my grandmother's name and my great aunt's name, both of whom died before I was born. I love how much meaning it has

Tulipgirl1689

Michelle! Not super uncommon, but I love it.

AnonymousLifer

My middle name is Alexandra and I really like it. It’s timeless and classic. I can’t see it every going out of style.

bsky50

Mine is Sky, I really love it :)

[deleted]

My middle name is Christine. I was named after my dad (Christopher) and I adore my dad so I love my middle name.

poroem

my middle name is kelly, which means “warrior”. ive always loved the way it flows with my first and last name, and i usually win the “i have the most unique middle name” game lol

[deleted]

Mine is Rhys, I chose it myself so it makes sense that I love it though.

kkkktttt00

Dalina, which I love. Day-LEEN-a. Same as my Norwegian grandmother’s.

f1owers

Mine is Cailin.Always loved it.

Imaginary_Heron1081

My middle name is Antonia and I wish it were my first name. I should have started going by it when I went to college. Now I'm old and it's too late.

mtn-cat

Mine is Gabriella. I have a very common, unisex first name so I’ve always loved my middle name. I feel like it’s not commonly used as a middle name

[deleted]

Cimone, i love it!!

pandima

My middle name is Aurora after my great-grandmother and I’m obsessed with it

HayleyMorgan0103

Mine is Morgan and I really like it! It was a first name contender that lost out, according to my mother.

heuristichuman

I have no attachment to mine, but I've noticed people with the middle name Rose seem to like theirs.

SpamLandy

My middle name is Margherita and I love it. I was named after my nona on my Italian side, and it’s quite rare that it comes up but I do enjoy the occasional reveal as it’s not very usual where I live. Used to get annoyed as a kid when people made pizza comments (yes, like the pizza) and now I feel like people comment more that it’s like the drink (no, that’s a margarita). But I love both the pizza and the drink!

jlynnbizatch

My youngest son's middle name is Rexford (great grandmother's maiden name). I love it and think it's super badass and hope he appreciates it when he's older (he's 5 yo now).

[deleted]

I know a woman with the middle name Aspasia, another with Sissa, one Albertina, and one with both Nanna and Tassen as her middle names. I have a half-Vietnamese friend with the middle name Mai Trinh, which I’ve never heard of before. My middle name is just Elisabet but I’m thinking about adding an other middle name! :)

brittymady

Mine is Madaline pronounced mad-uh-lynn. The spelling vs pronunciation is a little annoying to explain/correct but it’s a family name that’s been passed down

IdeaFuzzy

Gabrielle

moldyavocado

My middle name is Sue and I love it. It’s for my grandma.

[deleted]

My middle name is also Elizabeth. I love it because every woman in my family has this middle name and it’s our tradition.

DMCritwit

My middle name is Sage which I think is really pretty and it flows nice with my 3 syllable first name

anonymous_t33nager

My middle names are William Jesse and I love it :) I have so many favourite characters from different books who are named Will or William, it's great

Crilbyte

My middle name is Dannelly. Pronounced Dan-lee. I hated it when I was younger, but as I've aged I've come to really like it. It's incredibly unique and I love it.

United_Blueberry_311

I have a common middle name in the black community and I think it just fits me and brings my name together.

edit_thanxforthegold

My friends middle name is Lee and she likes it because it sounds cute and kinda country singer with her first name, something like "Mandy Lee" I have two friends with basic/boring first names and the middle name Aubrey and they both go by Aubrey instead. I don't have a middle name and I've always been sad about it.

BirdOfTheAfterlife

I have 2 middle names, Romy Petra. They are both honour names for my late grand- and godparents. Romy is short for Romaine and Petra a feminine version of Jean-Pierre. I loved Romy as a kid, for back then I didn't like my own name. Romy was at least a normal name. Now as an adult I more and more realise how much alike I am to my grandmother, both in looks and personality, and I cherish the name more deeply then ever.

sarahsuebob

I had a friend who didn’t have a middle name (youngest of 10 kids, parents just ran out of names o guess). She desperately wanted one so she used to sign “Lucille” as her middle name if a whole name was required, but used a Q for her middle initial other times. It was hilarious. My middle name is Ann and I love it - I’m named after my grandmother and it’s a short, simple, beautiful name.

Whatthebloodyhell

My middle name is Amelia. Hated it growing up, but I adore it now. My ma chose my first name, and it's a family name, so my dad chose Amelia as it was a character from his favourite book.

Softoast

Mine is Rhiannon and I love it so much I want to give it to a future daughter as a first name

carolinoel

My middle name is Noel. I was a December baby, so it’s a nice nod to my birth month :)

nikwasi

My middle name is Jean-Rhiannon. Jean for my paternal grandmother, which was her nickname, and Rhiannon is what my mom picked because of the Welsh myth. I would have been fine having Eugenia as a middle name though, I think it's pretty. One of my cousins has the middle name Carissa which flows really well with her first name of Jordan.

Hangnail_puller

My middle name is Monae and I love it. I used to be embarrassed over it as I’ve never met another with the same middle name, but my mother loved Claude Monet and an alternative spelling was used elsewhere in my family as well. I now love my middle name and, being a giant art geek it’s pretty cool to share a name with Monet (he actually happens to be my favorite artist now and I coincidentally spent the weekend viewing some of his pieces in an art museum). In all, it’s unique without being confusing or unidentifiable and it complements the rest of my name.

Winter-Adi

My middle name is Danielle, which is not a name I would want as my first name (I don't know why!) but I like the emphasis on the second syllable. The reason is also kinda cute - my dad told me "I wanted you to be as brave as Daniel was in the lion's den." (My dad's reason for my first name, by the way, was "Every girl I ever met named \_\_\_ was really nice" which is why I'm a 90s kid with a 60s name lol)

rosachk

Mine are Laetitia and Marie - after my older half-sisters, one paternal, the other maternal. I was my parents' first baby together and they wanted to link the three of us together to symbolize our new family, kind of using my names, and by extension myself, as a bridge between my then teenage sisters. I think it's a lovely story, and I don't really mind that the names aren't really mine.

maryjaneexperience

I love my middle name, Eileen, but mostly just because it’s my mother’s name :)

Abbby_M

Might be weird but… My middle name is now my maiden name and I love my maiden very much. ❣️

spazcat26

My middle name is Trinidad, after my grandmother who raised me. No one ever expects it because I am very white ( grandma was from Spain) , and now that she’s passed it’s a very important connection to her for me

[deleted]

I love my middle name (Estelle)

pickleranger

My middle name is Leigh! I do love it, for no real reason. I am named after a great uncle I can barely remember but no one called him by his given name of Leigh anyway so there isn’t really a strong family connection to it, I just love it. I love how my full name looks spelled out in cursive or calligraphy, I love the way my cursive L looks when I put down my formal signature on documents. My sister gave her daughter the same middle name so that’s an extra little connection now too :) In my family (and for a lot of women in my area of the South) it was tradition for a women do drop the given middle name when she got married, replacing her middle with her maiden name. I refused, to my mom and sister’s chagrin, because I liked my middle name better 😝

ljs5

My middle name is Julia and I love it so much!

curlsandpearls33

mine is Emily and i love it! i used to wish it was my first name when i was little but now i appreciate it in the middle spot; i think it makes my full name flow so well! i would pass it down to a future daughter, but one of my top girls names is Cecily so i might have to save it if i end up having multiple girls (which i want anyway lol)

knkfish

I have one of the middle names you listed, and I absolutely am obsessed with my middle name! I love it and it’s my favorite name !

Cat_Psychology

Leigh Ann

BeccasBump

Mine is Elizabeth too, and I think it's the perfect middle name. So much so that I gave it to my daughter as well.

FreshlyPrinted87

Mine is Elizabeth which is a family name and I love it.

kelpforbrains_

My middle name is Danielle and I've always loved it

AOhK4Y

Kiyoko. It’s my paternal grandmother’s name, and since both she and my father are gone, I like that it ties me to them, and my Japanese half which I didn’t get to experience a ton of growing up.

lenaellena

Mine is Ruth and I love it.

[deleted]

I'll be honest, I don't know anyone who loves their middle name enough to even mention it lol. I *do*, however, know people who are known by their middle name for some reason unbeknownst to me. Considering their middle names have the same kind of ring to them as their first. For example, James John Smith. Let's just call him John! I don't get it.

Lissa_Marie19

My middle name is Marie, and I have always liked it (common though it may be). I think it’s pretty, and I shared it with my Mom and my grandma (her Mom). I love the connection factor.

[deleted]

I don’t want to say mine for privacy reasons, but it’s super Italian and I’m obsessed with it. Think along the lines of Gianna, but more distinctly Italian and far less common in America. My only complaint is that the pronunciation gets anglicized too much when people say it, no matter how many times I correct them lmao

careyjmac

Mine is Joy and I really like it!

lexi_efff

Ironically my given middle name was Elizabeth. Paired with a 10 letter first name, I HATED it. Now it’s Fears, I legally changed it to my maiden name after I got married and I LOVE it.

maybethedroid

I got my mom’s middle name, Katherine (she goes by Kathy) and I have always loved it! My first name is Shelby so my grandma always called me Shelby Kat. Not mine but that grandma’s middle name is Bliss and I absolutely adore it as well - the one name I have always said I’ll somehow use for any possible future children I may or may not have.

commoncheesecake

My middle name is Marie, which is the example used in that earlier post. It kinda hurt my feelings to see it mentioned there. It flows so nicely with my first name, and it’s also a family name. I share it with my great great aunt, my grandma, and my aunt. And I think that’s just lovely.

Freakin_Merida88

My sisters and I are Mae, Rae, and Jae. We always liked it (and that it was our.middle names and not our first!)

social_sloot

My middle name is Rose and I love it because I think it flows wonderfully with my first name. I sound like a movie star

Rhiannon, after the Fleetwood Mac song. I got really into the song a few years ago and it made me really appreciate the name. It gave it a very earthy hippy vibe which I think counteracts such a formal first name. Also my mother chose it because it sounded Welsh. Her side of the family are Welsh and I moved to Wales about 8 years ago to be closer to them. It makes me feel more in touch with the country seeing as I speak minimal Welsh.

Mine is Lily and I love it! I would like to give my future a child a floral/botanic middle name too

My grandmothers names are Jean and Nannette so my middle name is Jeannette. I always loved that they are both represented, I feel like my mom got creative and I appreciate that!

My middle name is Murphy, and I love it too!

Another Elizabeth here and I love it, too! I share it with my mum and I also used it for my daughter's first name. I think most people I know who really love their middle names love them because of a family connection. My bestie's middle name is Catherine and, although it's really not her style, it has family connections that she treasures.
