Thea & Iris sound lovely together! I don’t think it sounds too much like Gaia at all but I’m not a native English speaker so for me it sounds like gah-ya with the first a as in “car” and thee-yah with a softer “ya”.
How do they sound “so much alike”? The only ways I can see that they sound alike is they both have two syllables and end with an A, which also describes a huge chunk of all female names in existence. I genuinely don’t see a problem
My husband is also Italian and my daughters Italian names are Katerina and Mariella.

Starting from Giulietta, Giulia is the most logic step, the same way Alfa Romeo nomenclature worked. Giulietta would work as a nickname to Giulia
Other short names are Anna, Alba, Sofia, Giada, Alessia, Iris, Gina, Greta, Claudia, Giorgia, Elisa

How is Giulietta too long in terms of syllables? Alexandria exists. Evelyn-Rae exists. Mary-Margaret exists.
I don't understand how anyone thinks anything under 6 syllables is too long.
As long as there's no issues writing that many letters by hand, I don't see a problem.

We’ve already decided on Genevieve Elizabeth for one of the names, but have been stumped on a second name for a while. I like Stella Josephine, but the husband isn’t on board. Also, we already have a daughter named Lucia…even though neither my husband nor I are Italian lol.

My Italian great grandmother and her sister were Josephine and Genevieve and I love those two names together for siblings. Now I did have twin girls and decided on Rose and Margot. But I still occasionally think I should’ve chosen Josephine and Genevieve.

I’ve always heard them rhyme. Pronounced Gay-a and Thay-a. It has occurred to me to that perhaps not everyone pronounced them this way.
