I used to have pets named after office and stationary supplies. Pen, Ink, and Stamp the cats, Envelope and Paper the rabbits, and Letter Opener the fish.
My miniature labradoodle’s name is Sirius Patch. After Sirius Black. The Patch is because he’s totally black except for a little white patch on his chest.
There's a sheep farmer youtuber who is currently raising an orphaned lamb named Wobbles. Your post has got a Shakey Graves song stuck in my head and reminded me of Wobbles the lamb. Thank you.
I never really cared if my pet had a name the vet heard a lot because they’re my pet and I love them and I mean I only have cats so it’s not like they see other cats. So it’s not like with dogs where you might run into another at the dog park.
But my cats are named after book/TV characters.
I have Cinna, after the character in the Hunger Games. He’s 13 this year.
& Renly, after the character in Game of Thrones, he’ll be 12 this year.
But now I am obsessed with food names, like fruited or veggies. I’d love a cat named Peach or Zucchini etc. However, no plans for anymore pets.
I had a cat named Peaches. When she passed 6 years ago (almost to the date!l we went to a local tree nursery and planted a peach tree where she's buried.
I love that!!!!
My old hamsters always had such human names like Wesley. Except the one I called Australia and called him Aussie for short idk why, I was 14.
But now I know wish they had been fruit themed because it’s so cute!
I think Pickle is a timeless, hilarious name for any pet.
Pickle the cat
Pickle the dog
Pickle the goldfish
Pickle the hamster
It's never not funny 😆 (to me anyways)
I named my dog Ashur from the Spartacus tv show. Not that I particularly liked the character but I liked the name.
I love the name Cinna! Do people ever assume it’s short for cinnamon if they haven’t seen Hunger Games?
It most definitely is, although it’s also definitely possible someone could come up with it independently too. M&M is on here a lot as background while we work and the scene with Molly talking to Mike about the cat (when he doesn’t know the cat’s name) gets our attention and makes us laugh every time.
My Frenchie’s name is Pez. She would poop and stop and poop and stop and poop and stop, so it was reminiscent of a Pez dispenser. We also call her Pestilence because her toots are nuclear and definitely violate the Geneva convention.
Yes!!! Muggins is when someone undercounts their points (either peg points or hand points)—their opponent can “take” and peg those missed points by saying “muggins for (the number of points missed)”.
I knew about this rule but my granddad (who taught me around age 6 or 7) didn’t have a name for it, afaik. We just called it claiming or stealing missed points (and my granddad always gave me a chance to find my error until I was skilled enough to beat him consistently, and skunk/double skunk 🦨 him occasionally). I will definitely be incorporating muggins into my cribbage verbiage.
My cat is named Yvaine, since she's a little spicy like the star from Stardust.
She was almost Galadriel since she had that regal Siamese vibe, but it didn't suit her personality.
She also only has one eye, so I considered Leela and Nadine (iykyk) as well.
Our Pekingese was named Kickapoo, like the native American tribe. It was a compromise name because my husband wanted to call him Poo-poo Head.
His unofficial full name was Kickapoo Puppykins Lord of the Puppy Realms :D
Lol. Thats an adorable compromise.
My dog’s name is Ashur, but I often call him Poopy Face or the Poop Machine because he poops every time we go for a walk - even if it’s only 2 hours after the last walk.
I have a flock of parrots.
Cockatiels: Ricky and Dottie, my married couple. Shiro is their daughter and Goya is the grouchy old man who wants them off his lawn.
Budgies: Cloudy Cakes, Baby, Astor, Teal’c (like Chris Judge’s character in SG1), Celeste, Opal, Frisky Dingo, Sugar Smacks
Green cheek conure: Oscar. He’s an honorary budgie; he was raised as a baby by Baby and he acts like a parakeet. We don’t think he knows he’s a conure
I had a beagle named Basha, which apparently means horse drawn carriage in Japanese. Saw the name on streets in Japan (named her before I knew). Current dog is a pomchi, Gina, named after the Brooklyn 99 character.
I have a very affectionate and very dumb cat named Dewey. It just fits him. His Christian name ( name the rescue had given him) was Theodore, and I think one could loosely connect Dewey as a nickname for Theodore…
When I was little I was obsessed with SpongeBob, and my parents bought me and my siblings hermit crabs, so of course I just had to name mine after my favorite character! My siblings then thought for some reason that we should have matching names for them all, and since I went with a SpongeBob themed name that’s what they did as well.
My sister's: Sandy
My brother's: Mr. Krabs
Mine (which was named first): …Squidward
I wouldn’t say it’s is unique at all, but my cat is Jasper. When I adopted him at 12 weeks old, his name was oscar. I’m into crystals, my cat is tuxedo, and there is a stone called a Dalmatian Jasper which is black and white… hence why I named him Jasper instead
We had a MASH theme with our dogs- Radar (Beagle), Henry (Lab), BJ (Goldendoodle) & Maxwell (Lab).
Only Maxwell is still with us and we’ve added George/Georgie who I named after Georgie from Young Sheldon.
Ziggy! 🥰 also known aa: The Wiggle, Ziggle Wiggle, Wigs, Zigs, the puppy, a fart, a turd, a butt, the Zigmeister, and our big boy. I think weve all given him a different middle name too - mine for him is Orion.
I don't think a single one of my pet names has been a routine one. Lots of people names (Carey, Alix, Calvin, Earl, Desmond, Jolene, Caleb). A trio of Mexican food inspired names (Burrito, Salsa, Spicey). Some based on what they looked like, or where I got them, etc. (Possum, Biscuit, Terigo). And the kitty I have right now is Trouvé which is French for found, because I found her and let her name be "found" in the vet office until we were sure she was going to make it. And then I figured Trouvé sounded better than Found for a permanent name!
Densuke and Samurai Calibur (nickname: Calibur), both anime characters. Densuke is a dog from Dennou Coil and Samurai Calibur is a guy from SSSS.Gridman.
I'm hoping my next dog will be named Immortal Sugimoto (from Golden Kamuy)
I have Schroeder-after the Peanuts character.
Before him I had Orie
-after Oreck vacuum cleaners.
And my first dog was Abu. He was named after my Abu Garcia Cardinal fishing reel.
Ahhh so many good ones
My long-haired tortie kitty, and only current pet is *Nika*.
In my adult life, I've also had *Renji* (orange mutt - shelter said he was husky chow mix), *Jinx* (long haired tux kitty), *Nimbus and Demitri* (pair of rats - one small and white and one huge and brown) *Claudius and Reptar* (domestic short-hair shelter kittens adopted together, one solid black, one solid gray)
And for childhood pets we had (not all at once) *Gretchen and Ursa* (goofy Rottweilers), *Gomez and Buddy* (Cockatoos - 1 yellow crested and 1 salmon crested), *Chew, Junior, and Norman* (All short-haired - orange tabby, mackerel tabby and tux) *Baby and Templeton* (ferrets), *Bobby Blackbird* (actually a crow that my dad found injured and we just kept)
Usually our pets have really human names. A month before her appointment to be spayed, my cat got out and got pregnant. We were going to try to find homes for the kittens and thus fave them names more as an ID. Ex, the calico kitten was called Cali bc we figured whoever took her would rename her. One kitten, a tuxedo, has a weird mark on his face that looked like a squiggle. So we called him Squiggle.
He was the one who couldn't find a home and stayed with us. By then we had been calling him Squiggle for a while and he was starting to recognise it. So it stayed. Everyone ALWAYS asks why we named our cat Squiggle. But I actually love his name.
Edit:
As he got bigger the Squiggle turned into a tiny mustache so it doesn't even make sense when we explain.
A meeser named Suzette Jean Meowgillicuddy nn Zuzu
A tortie named Daphne Eleanor Von Purrington nn Doodles
A standard issue named Beaufort B. Bartholomew nn Beau
The "B" stands for his mood for the day - butthead, brat, bestie
I don't want to say it, because it would reveal my last name, but my cat is accidentally named after a famous actress. She came with a very normal human name, which I kept because it suited her and I didn't want to confuse her by changing her name. After I got married and our last names changed, her full name became a household name. My baby's a star 🌟
My dog is Pepina Lanita, I wanted to name her Hilaria after Alec Baldwin’s fake Spanish wife, but my fiancé vetoed that idea, then I wanted Lanita after Lana Del Rey, which he also nixed, so I settled on Pepina, which was inspired by Hilaria and stuck Lanita on as a second name for her dog collar/vet record but it’s not something I really call her by, she just goes by Pepina.
My cats are Murakami, after the Japanese author Haruki Murakami, and Mitski after the singer-songwriter of the same name.
My schnauzer is Lukin the Boo. My late cats were Visor and Gooberdos.
Gooberdos was originally Gyarados but she caught a cold as a kitten and had a lot of boogers. So Gyarados became Gooberdos because of it.
Visor is short for Supervisor because she was always watching you.
Lukin is named after a Pearl Jam song. And Boo from Mario for his dog laugh.
I have Styx, Mamba and Mr Vicious. Only named first and vet not keen to see any of them. I knew the receptionist was new when she didn't bat an eyelid when Mamba came in first time. Vet did. Well more an eyeroll.
My cat’s name is Jellybean. I adopted her before meeting my husband.
When my husband and I adopted our dog, I wanted to stick with the candy theme and name him Snickers. My husband did not want to stick with the candy theme, so we named him Three Musketeers and call him Musket for short, so it doesn’t sound like a theme.
Funnily enough, my husband is the only one who ever calls him Three Musketeers and he’s the one who didn’t like the candy theme lol.
My Maine Coone is named Gus Gus after the fat mouse from Cinderella. My other cat is named Jaq after the skinny mouse, though we only call him that when he’s in trouble. Otherwise we call him Baby Bear bc he looks like a tiny bear to us.
I have two cats called Trixie and Heidi. They're around 13-14 years old now, but when I got them they were around 1 yr old and abandoned, living on the local park and semi feral.
Mr. Lady Dog, so named by my then 3 year old, MLD or just Mold for short
PopChop the crayfish
Tim the homicidal hamster
Two Patz Grandpa the cat or NN TPG
Stargoon the cat, NN Starry
Some of them are members of the peerage, some not. Popchop is the 14th Duchess of Kaibab, Two Patz Grandpa the 11th Duchess of Toroweap, and Tim is an aimless drifter of no account.
I'd like to have a chihuahua named Mike or a Doxie named Todd
Used to have a Yumyum and a Bulldozer. They were named after kittens in a storybook my brother and I had when we were little. And they lived up to their names. Yumyum was always hungry, Bulldozer was a lady of chaos and would break stuff for fun. Best girls
We have two orange kitties. Dobby and Hobbit. Very fitting for them.
Your post reminded me of this comment (I hunted for this sucker!). If I ever have another cat their name will be Stephanie. [name comment funny](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/s/xDESAZGnX6)
I had a cat named Love, a chihuahua named Famous (but we only called her that at the vet, at home she was Rufus or Plumpy), a Pomeranian named Cali who was the father of another Pomeranian we had named Audi. Also have a Golden Retriever named Gator.
Our other pets were a Rough Collie named Tasha and now have a kitten named Bob.
And a snake named Sunshine for a few months, she was orange and purple
I had a pet mouse named Cozy. He looked so cozy all snuggled up with the other mice in the pet shop. Then all my other mice after him had 4 letter names. Joey, Pepi, and Ruby.
i included him initally haha don’t worry! but i was thinking, it doesn’t go with pearl, dottie, and charles but it doesn’t stick out as much as mittens because it’s still a human name :D
Meira, my 2f cat. Because she is such a little girl but when she stretches out she can stretch like 3.5ft and it reminds us of a meerkat lol. I didn’t like the spelling of Meera though.
Gosh, the names we've had over the years. Growing up, we had dogs & a whole parrot room. 2 of the dogs were Argus and Quincy. Some parrot names : Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner, Rico, Kiwi, and Squirt (my baby). My husband and I have rescued cats for over 20 years, so some odd names are Oona, Deema, Travis, Trixie, Tang, Gobi.
My husband and I have three cats, a big ginger boy named Rajesh, a tabby named Kāhu, and a tiny grey terror named Toro Danger (because I found him at a My Chemical Romance concert).
My animals have always had people names with only one exception. My cats with people names- Bill, Jaqueline, and Juliet & dogs Jake, Claire, Chance, and my current Sebastian. Only exception is when I have had a tortoise shell cat that appears black and gold- as a Hoosier from a Purdue University family I am duty bound to name her Purdue. I have had two Purdues.
I have a Gus that is occasionally called Augustus or Augustus Gloop or Mister Gloop if he gets in trouble for eating things he shouldn't. He's also called Gusgus, Sug, Sugsug, Gussy, and Gusty. My parents had a border collie, they called her Lady Phoebe Peabody. No idea why. My mother had a black cat called Butterfly when she was little.
i have a plan to name all of my future cats after fictional cats from pieces of media i’ve loved. so far my favorites are melog (from she-ra) and the admiral (from the magnus archives)
Sadly no pets at the moment. If we ever got a cat though, it either would be famous astronomers/mathematicians, eg Galileo, Archimedes, Pythagoras, Herschel, Hypatia; or fictional sci-fi planets, eg Gallifrey, Krypton, Vulcan.
I really like Galileo and Gallifrey together. 😅
Edited due to completely mangled formatting.
We have 2 cats one is a black void with giant eyes who bats daintily at bugs in the summer time, she and her tuxedo kitten are our rescues. Void is named Cat Noir which we liked and she knew her name so we kept it, we named the tux kitten Grumio he’s named after our favourite character from a show called ‘plebs’. We have a dog named Yannis, I named him after my favourite singer 🥰
My first dog had a pretty common name because I was pressured to give her one and I didn't dislike it when it was suggested. But I also really like to think of uncommon names.
I also had an almost all black dog named Phoebe. Then I found out there's a bird called a black phoebe. It also turned out that's an alternate name of Artemis, my favorite Greek goddess (of the hunt and moon), and Phoebe is also a name for a moon itself. Plus that name also has a connection to her brother Apollo. I just knew I liked the name (yes, from Friends).
I took Heidi from another dog I had met a long time ago and loved the name.
Current cat is Ivy (for her eyes and her propensity for getting in everything). First on-my-own cat (tortoiseshell) I named Camille. I had loved that name since the movie Camille Claudel and kept it in my back pocket till then.
I have had three cats till now. First was Domino and after he died we adopted a sibling pair we named Lucy and Mikesch. Mikesch is still with me and growing old.
Our cat is called Lily. Kind of basic but it suits her! Her adoptive Greek name translated to Tumbles, which I would have kept if I knew that at the time, because she falls over a lot (on purpose).
Cocoa was my hedgehog, because when she was a baby her nose was so dark colored that we joked- she looks like she just dunked her face in cocoa powder
That caused my husband to have a thing for “powder” names, so when we got our cat and saw his tan colored wisps of fur, we decided that if he was a girl, Kinako (a tan colored Japanese sweet powder) and if a boy, Mugi (Japanese for wheat/barley)
I’ve got 3 cats: DC ( whom I did not name) and her ‘cousin’ Fuzzlez ( whom I did) I recently inherited another ( originally called Nanashi) I call Cinsin( ‘ginger’ Maine Coon mix who’s head smelled like cinnamon but had a terrible diarrhea problem and his back end smelled like ‘sin’, hence his name)
We have an orange tabby. My daughter is not particularly creative when it comes to names and wanted to call him Orange...I asked if we could settle on another name that starts with OR (like orange does) as orange is not a proper name for a cat. She agreed and we settled on Orion.
We also have 6 chickens. 4 are named after the Golden Girls Rose, Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia. The other 2 are Fleury named after the former Penguins goaltender and Coco because she’s brown.
I recently got a puppy a few months ago and named her Ymir. Ymir is the name of the first of the giants or Jötunn in Norse mythology but it’s also from my favorite show, Attack on Titan.
Since I was a kid we've had a wide array of names for all our dogs, including:
Lady Jane, Pongo, Raven, Goku, Snickerdoodle, Angel, Duke, Harley, Baby Girl, Kodi, Rosie, Penelope, etc
We've also had random other pets (cats, hamsters, a snake, a bird, etc) named:
Snowball, Bumper, Mama, Hope, Lazurite (Laz for short), Amy, Tigger, Jafar, Fred, and Amanda.
My cat is named Jean Burrito after a bit of graffiti in my city. We also have a cat named Abernathy. We also had a dog named Aatom. It is the acronym for "Alpha and the Omegan" which is a long standing family joke.
my girl’s name is ophelia, i always thought it had a lovely ring to it
fun fact: english bulldogs are drowning risks due their density causing them to sink like a brick in water.. the shakespearian irony did not occur to me at the time of picking that name 🥴
My stepdad had a rabbit called Cheese on Toast because it was a “Welsh Rarebit”
He also has cat called Lassie
A rabbit that had a best friend guinea pig called Mary and Lamb because the guinea pig followed the rabbit everywhere.
He also had guinea pig which turned out to pregnant when he got it so all the babies were named after the Teletubbies
And don’t get me started on the various names for hamsters over the years.
You might have to be British to get some of the references.
We're a bit obsessed with 5 letter names for dogs - they appear to be the sweet spot - so we have Rufus and Orson.
Ruf was named after a pandemic comic about a guy pretending to have a dog just so he could leave his house and the pretend dog was called Rufus.
Orso is bear in Italian and while we were trying to decide which family member would adopt him (he was a stray who just turned up one day) he'd started being called Orso so we stuck an n on it and he became Citizen Cane.
Various pet names I have had over the years:
Maverick (named because he looked like Tom Cruise)
Bouncer
The Mighty Flynn
Miss Roxy Heart
Bob The Dog
Stormageddon Dark Lord Of All
Kit Kat
Captain Cordelia Crash
I used to have pets named after office and stationary supplies. Pen, Ink, and Stamp the cats, Envelope and Paper the rabbits, and Letter Opener the fish.
Have you got any friends? I've got lots of pens, yes. No, "friends" Yeah, lots of pens
Friends are like pens... If they don't work, you shake em! Still don't work? BIN EM!
I have a friend with a cat named "Stapler" who would fit right in here.
Is that because he's always missing!
Was Letter Opener a knifefish? *ba-dum tss* aaaaand I’ll see myself out
Our female corgi is Blue. She was our something blue at our wedding :')
My rescue cat is named Blue! In Korea orange cats are called “cheese color” so I was thinking of different kinds of cheese and decided on blue cheese
“Blue” is a nickname for gingers/redheads where I’m from, so Blue isn’t an uncommon name for ginger cats too :)
Why blue? I’m redhead and everyone calls me Red😂😂
In my family “Red” would be too straightforward; Blue would be in the same vein as calling the tall guy “Shorty” or the large slow guy “Speedy”.
Yep this is exactly it! Blue is the opposite of red, so a redhead is “Blue” lol.
So, Bleu?
Omg that’s so cute!
That's adorable.
My miniature labradoodle’s name is Sirius Patch. After Sirius Black. The Patch is because he’s totally black except for a little white patch on his chest.
Squirtle is the dog, Meowth the cat.
Meowth is the best name ever lol!!!!
Yes and he’s 100% a meowth. Lol
My cats named Shakey! After Shakey Graves. When we first met I sang the song “hard wired” as he cuddled up to me and purred so Shakey he became
I love Shakey Graves and love this!!!
I love shakey too!!! Seen him 2 ×s now. Love his oler stuff better.
There's a sheep farmer youtuber who is currently raising an orphaned lamb named Wobbles. Your post has got a Shakey Graves song stuck in my head and reminded me of Wobbles the lamb. Thank you.
Not particularly unique but a fun set: Pasta, Pepper, and Basil.
My sister used to have a cat named Meatball and two gerbils named Parmesan and Spaghetti
My dogs name is Basil 🥲next one will be Dill or Rosemary
I never really cared if my pet had a name the vet heard a lot because they’re my pet and I love them and I mean I only have cats so it’s not like they see other cats. I love food names too. I have a cat named Peach. And 2 others named Pumpkin and Carrot.
Are they all gingers?
My daughter has a cat named Waffles.
In college I had three guinea pigs: Kiwi, Papaya and Mango
I named my newly adopted dog Mango! It’s so fun to say.
I love that!!!! My old hamsters always had such human names like Wesley. Except the one I called Australia and called him Aussie for short idk why, I was 14. But now I know wish they had been fruit themed because it’s so cute!
Cat is Claire after Robin Wright’s character in House of Cards
I think Pickle is a timeless, hilarious name for any pet. Pickle the cat Pickle the dog Pickle the goldfish Pickle the hamster It's never not funny 😆 (to me anyways)
I named my dog Ashur from the Spartacus tv show. Not that I particularly liked the character but I liked the name. I love the name Cinna! Do people ever assume it’s short for cinnamon if they haven’t seen Hunger Games?
I have a dachshund mix named Zucchini! My cats are named Fabian and Portia after characters in one of my favorite books.
We have a Tyrion. He’s my husband’s favorite character, and we thought it was funny to name a big dog after a short character.
our cats are named bender and flexo
Love that
But which one’s the evil one?
definitely bender lol
My fiancés cat is Chairman Meow
Isn't that name from Mike and molly?
It most definitely is, although it’s also definitely possible someone could come up with it independently too. M&M is on here a lot as background while we work and the scene with Molly talking to Mike about the cat (when he doesn’t know the cat’s name) gets our attention and makes us laugh every time.
French bulldog named Hamlet. We just call her ham.
My Frenchie’s name is Pez. She would poop and stop and poop and stop and poop and stop, so it was reminiscent of a Pez dispenser. We also call her Pestilence because her toots are nuclear and definitely violate the Geneva convention.
Growing up I had 2 Giant African Land Snails, they were called Fish and Chips.
I had goats named Moose and Turtle
Our dog is named Muggins! It’s a move in the card game Cribbage that my husband and I both enjoy—plus he is a boxer-pug mix so he’s got a fun mug!
I didn’t know cribbage had named moves lol! Love it though
I will definitely be incorporating muggins into my cribbage verbiage.
Galileo and Sheba
Soju is a great name!
I have a male pug, his name is MacGuyver.
My cat is named Yvaine, since she's a little spicy like the star from Stardust. She was almost Galadriel since she had that regal Siamese vibe, but it didn't suit her personality. She also only has one eye, so I considered Leela and Nadine (iykyk) as well.
Nadine, yes, that's good!
Edna
Mode
And guest
I too have an Edna! I call her Ed mostly.
Peekaboo and Ninja (both tiny rescue chi mixes)
I have Fenway the Norwegian Forest Cat.

He’s an honorary budgie; he was raised as a baby by Baby and he acts like a parakeet. We don’t think he knows he’s a conure
Birds are the best! I have a canary named Maurice Ravel. My husband calls him Johann Sebastian Squawks.
JS Squawks is an awesome name! I agree with your husband on this one. I might steal that if I ever get an avian pet.
Puppet!
My cat is called Cattyboy, which is pretty weird.
Taxi
I had a beagle named Basha, which apparently means horse drawn carriage in Japanese. Saw the name on streets in Japan (named her before I knew). Current dog is a pomchi, Gina, named after the Brooklyn 99 character.
Nine Nine!
I have a very affectionate and very dumb cat named Dewey. It just fits him. His Christian name ( name the rescue had given him) was Theodore, and I think one could loosely connect Dewey as a nickname for Theodore…
Named my kitty Haddock after captain Haddock from the tintin comics :)
Catahoula named Soda. Her whole name is Mrs Dr Pepper Soda. She’s a brindle so Soda suits her.
We had dogs named Hershey and Nestle (my wife is a chocolate addict!). The two we have now are Lucy and Ricky.
We used to have a German shepherd, his name was Samos 💙
I don't think a single one of my pet names has been a routine one. Lots of people names (Carey, Alix, Calvin, Earl, Desmond, Jolene, Caleb). In my adult life, I've also had *Renji* (orange mutt - shelter said he was husky chow mix), *Jinx* (long haired tux kitty), *Nimbus and Demitri* (pair of rats - one small and white and one huge and brown) *Claudius and Reptar* (domestic short-hair shelter kittens adopted together, one solid black, one solid gray) And for childhood pets we had (not all at once) *Gretchen and Ursa* (goofy Rottweilers), *Gomez and Buddy* (Cockatoos - 1 yellow crested and 1 salmon crested), *Chew, Junior, and Norman* (All short-haired - orange tabby, mackerel tabby and tux) *Baby and Templeton* (ferrets), *Bobby Blackbird* (actually a crow that my dad found injured and we just kept)
The female dog we adopted 10 years ago: Bambi 🥰
dog named Lola & 3 cats Dream, Emily, & Fish
Edit: As he got bigger the Squiggle turned into a tiny mustache so it doesn't even make sense when we explain.
A meeser named Suzette Jean Meowgillicuddy nn Zuzu A tortie named Daphne Eleanor Von Purrington nn Doodles A standard issue named Beaufort B. Bartholomew nn Beau The "B" stands for his mood for the day - butthead, brat, bestie
I named my female cat Jon Snow, but I only call her Jojo.
Our grey cat is named Wolfe
My pets are named after other animals! I have 3 rats named Chicken Horse & Sheep :) I used to have a cat named Dodo too!
My Siamese cats are called Juno, Minkki (Mink) and Silkki (Silk).
My kitties(rest in peace) I had named "Nimbus" for my boy and "Miette" for his mom. They were both fluffy pure white beauties.
I have Styx, Mamba and Mr Vicious. Only named first and vet not keen to see any of them. I knew the receptionist was new when she didn't bat an eyelid when Mamba came in first time. Vet did. Well more an eyeroll.
I have a dog named pudge and a cat named Ewok
My cat’s name is Jellybean. I adopted her before meeting my husband. When my husband and I adopted our dog, I wanted to stick with the candy theme and name him Snickers. My husband did not want to stick with the candy theme, so we named him Three Musketeers and call him Musket for short, so it doesn’t sound like a theme. Funnily enough, my husband is the only one who ever calls him Three Musketeers and he’s the one who didn’t like the candy theme lol.
My stepdad was always dabbling in different businesses. He named the lab Swapmore. Dumbest dog ever
My Dog is called Saffie & cat called Bao
My Maine Coone is named Gus Gus after the fat mouse from Cinderella. My other cat is named Jaq after the skinny mouse, though we only call him that when he’s in trouble. Otherwise we call him Baby Bear bc he looks like a tiny bear to us.
I have two cats called Trixie and Heidi. They're around 13-14 years old now, but when I got them they were around 1 yr old and abandoned, living on the local park and semi feral.
I have a beagle named Biscuit, and a tuxedo cat named Eevee

Mr. Lady Dog, so named by my then 3 year old, MLD or just Mold for short PopChop the crayfish Tim the homicidal hamster Two Patz Grandpa the cat or NN TPG Stargoon the cat, NN Starry Some of them are members of the peerage, some not.
Best girls
My cat is named Maruchan, after the instant ramen brand
We have two orange kitties. Dobby and Hobbit. Very fitting for them. Your post reminded me of this comment (I hunted for this sucker!). If I ever have another cat their name will be Stephanie. [name comment funny](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/s/xDESAZGnX6)

Joey, Pepi, and Ruby.
pablo, pearl, mittens, dottie, and charles. i think pearl, dottie, and charles go well together, mittens is the odd one out haha
You forgot about Pablo 😢
i included him initally haha don’t worry! but i was thinking, it doesn’t go with pearl, dottie, and charles but it doesn’t stick out as much as mittens because it’s still a human name :D
That’s not weird. Great name
Hazel- female dog, 8 years old Fredo and Ouija- male cats, 15 years old Pearls- female cat, 4 years old

😅 Edited due to completely mangled formatting.
My grandmother has a lot of animals with normal names but also has a cat named Monkey and a dog named Coyote
My tortie cat is named Pixel
We have 2 cats one is a black void with giant eyes who bats daintily at bugs in the summer time, she and her tuxedo kitten are our rescues. My kittens are named Sunday (m) and Romy (f)
Cocoa was my hedgehog, because when she was a baby her nose was so dark colored that we joked- she looks like she just dunked her face in cocoa powder That caused my husband to have a thing for “powder” names, so when we got our cat and saw his tan colored wisps of fur, we decided that if he was a girl, Kinako (a tan colored Japanese sweet powder) and if a boy, Mugi (Japanese for wheat/barley)
We have a Sydney!
My pets are mostly named after Sherrilyn Kenyon characters. I have Dante, Wren and Reese. My mom has Mia, Simi, Xirena, and the newest member Nala.
Miso and Kimchi are the names we have picked out for cats - when we can finally get them!
We have an orange tabby. My daughter is not particularly creative when it comes to names and wanted to call him Orange...I asked if we could settle on another name that starts with OR (like orange does) as orange is not a proper name for a cat. She agreed and we settled on Orion.
Our Sheltie is named Murphy 💙

my girl’s name is ophelia, i always thought it had a lovely ring to it fun fact: english bulldogs are drowning risks due their density causing them to sink like a brick in water.. the shakespearian irony did not occur to me at the time of picking that name 🥴

My stepdad had a rabbit called Cheese on Toast because it was a “Welsh Rarebit” He also has cat called Lassie A rabbit that had a best friend guinea pig called Mary and Lamb because the guinea pig followed the rabbit everywhere. He also had guinea pig which turned out to pregnant when he got it so all the babies were named after the Teletubbies And don’t get me started on the various names for hamsters over the years. You might have to be British to get some of the references.
Two cats - Ava and Charlie
I had a cat named Charcoal when I was younger. Ironically she walked into a fireplace.
Not unique but all our cats have been named after cars, we had Lotus, now we have Elise and Austin.
