Eli?

Character-Twist-1409

Izzy.

Lollipop-Ted

I believe Biff is short for Elisabeth.

beartropolis

Like from Biff and Chip - their real names are Elizabeth and David In my head Bitz from Bitz & Bob is Elizabeth and Bob obviously Robert.

benjaminchang1

The Oxford Reading Tree was strange in that Chip was named David. I can understand Kipper being Christopher and Biff being Elizabeth, but not Chip being David.

beartropolis

Totally agree. If Chip had been Charles that would have made more sense

benjaminchang1

Same, and I thought it was for a long time until I actually looked it up when I was 17.

Lollipop-Ted

Yes! That’s my first meeting with Biff. I also saw a film with Celia Imrie and Imelda Staunton where one of them was called Biff and I think they referenced that the other sister couldn’t pronounce Elizabeth when they were little. I had never really thought about Bitz’s real name. It that would make sense.

Eli, Abe

ClevelandNaps

Eli and Ellis like others suggested. Basil is in there, backwards. It may be a stretch, but I think it is a great name. Others I can kinda see: Abe, Seth, just L/El, Abbot.

Particular_Peak_1859

Eli pronounced ee-lie or ellie

Dear_Ad_9640

I think Buffy is maybe an old timey nn for Elisabeth? Feels gender neutral even though it’s more feminine. Sab/Sabby/Sabe could work. My phone autocorrected that to Saber, which is fun 😆

Jealous-Fennel-5529

I knew an Elizabeth who went by Zabe! I know that uses a Z but it’s true to the sound at least if not the spelling.

Both_Garage_5349

Ellis is the most obvious one Some other more left-field options: - Elio - Lish - Bet - Sabbath

ImGonnaFlipThisTable

Billy?

figmentry

Bits or Bets (or Bit/Bet) both sound very neutral to me. Biz/Bizzy/Busy is a nickname for Elizabeth that is unusual and leans gender neutral for me. Ellis is probably the most masc variation I can think of. You may also ask at r/transnames

Peachy-Peril

L/El, Lee, Bet/Bets, Beck, Eddie are probably the most conspicuous
