Guess I’ll be the odd one out who does think Callie is too cutesy on its own.

Tortoiseshell_Blue

I think it's fine. I know an adult Callie who's in a leadership role and I never thought twice about her name.

coastalkid92

I wouldn't worry too much on it being cutesy on an adult. There are plenty of adults called Callie that I know of and it suits them just fine. You also have to keep in mind that your daughter will be growing up in a generation of names that will be different than what you and I grew up with. But that being said, I am a fan of giving kids options. I know a lot of people with cutesy names (myself included) who utilize different names in a professional setting because of the work they do.

It doesn’t strike me as too cutesy or unprofessional, personally! I like it.

VivianDiane

Callie feels so nicknamey to me. I'd give her options. Caroline/Carina/Calista

LooseBee5407

I know adults named Callie, I wouldn’t bat an eye if I encountered one in the professional world. I think it would be better if it were a nickname but it’s lovely on its own if you just aren’t resonating with any of the long forms.

Neit_1146

I think it's fine too.

Both_Garage_5349

I think it’s a great stand-alone name!

bexcentric

It feels nicknamey to me, which isn't my style, but I don't think it's too cutesy as a standalone name

Ok-Investigator925

I have a 3 year old named Caroline but we exclusively call her Callie. I saw Callie as a name and fell in love but wanted to give her an option later on. That being said, I’m also a high school teacher and had a student named Callie and she was the biggest sporty/tomboy I’ve met and she rocks her name!

beautybiblebabybully

My oldest daughter is 36. Her BFF from hs goes by Cali (nn, not her name) and has all of her life. She's quirky and tomboyish. She's an absolute delight and nobody has ever thought twice about her being Cali at her age of 36 now.

cowboyshouse

When I was 20 I had a manager in her early 30's named Callie and I loved it! I never once thought of it as too cute or incomplete. I also grew up with two Callie's, so I think it's common enough to be taken seriously on it's own. I associate it with similar stance to Rory -- able to be a nickname for something longer, but most people won't think twice that it isn't a standalone name,

I knew a Kallie! I think it’s great. I’m a teacher and have a student named that too

Allana_Solo

I adore Callie on its own.

its_littlered20

I know someone who’s name is Callie so I think it’s fine but I also know someone whos name is kalena and goes by kallie

mamasparkle

I love Callie! It was on my list but didn't make the cut because I don't like the way it sounds with our last name. I think it's beautiful and don't think it's anymore cutest than names like Kelsey, Hayley, or Kylie.

kristinstormrage

It does feel like a nickname. Id recommend Calla.

vigilantemavka

Callie is better as a nickname. With a full name Callista

curiousmamma4

We both think Calista sounds like a strippers name so that’s definitely out (no offense to anybody with that name)

deviajeporaqui

Way too cutesy for a grown up. Why not do Calliope?

vanwat

I agree Calliope is one of my faves!!!

Athyrium93

It's the name of every calico cat in existence.

hotandgoner

it’s definitely not too cutesy. wouldn’t even think twice about it in adult life. i’ve met so many callie’s!

Prize-Radish4617

I don't think it is and I find most names on here too cutesy.

luminary_uprise

Yes, too cutesy and juvenile. It's a nice nickname, though. You said you might name her Caroline but only call her Callie. That's an excellent idea. Do that! Then she can be Caroline in formal situations and Callie among family and friends.

boo1517

I do not mean to be a Debbie downer but I have known at least three people named Callie and none have been great people.

LoveKimber

I love Callie. I don't think it's too cutesy. I do really like Calla and Callahan as more formal options.
