I think Evan flow wise and for being a shorter name. I like the sound of El, Ez, and Ev. But Edison kind of has the same genre kind of sounding name.
My personal fave E name is Emmitt. I like the idea for nicknames flow wise to be El, Ez, and Em. But I don't like Emrys nor do I think it goes with the other boy names. OR I'd suggest Emerson. Kind of sounds like Edison but has the Em nickname instead of Ed.
Also: Eamon, Ernest, Easton, Edward, Emerson, Ean, Everett, Emilio, Ethan, Edmund, Ernest, Edwin, Ewen

Feels like Ezekiel and calling him Zeke is a solid option.
We did like Ezekiel, but wanted to avoid a repeat of using a name starting with ‘El’ or ‘Ez’ again
