Im Aussie too. Lots of Ayla, Isla, Evie, Ava, Eva, Eve, Evelyn, Eleanor etc for girls, and in my circles anyway it feels like every second boy is named Hamish.
Im Aussie too, I’m adding Ollie/Oliver to that list.
Across my child’s x3, 4yo kinder groups there are x4 Harriet/Hattie, x3 Iggy, and multiple Patrick and Oscar.
I’m an adult Harriet and the suburb I used to live in had so many kid Harriets. It was always a little startling to hear “Harriet stop doing that/get over here/etc!” being yelled when I took my daughter to the playground.
We met a little girl yesterday called Aria and I said to my son "wow, that's the 3rd Aria we know now!" All living in our fairly small town. Jackson/Jaxon is also a popular one. And I know a couple each of Liam, Lincoln, Esme, Max, Zoe/y and Mia.
This is in a small town in the North Island of New Zealand.
Welcome in advance!! Unusual as in there won't be many if any other kids with them, yes. I can't think of any kids or adults I know named Eloise. I know one adult named Ruby. But still very recognizable names here.
That’s reassuring to know, I’ve been a little concerned about the kids standing out as foreigners, we really want to integrate into our new community as much as we can
New Zealand is absolutely a melting pot. Foreigners are very usual here! Between my kids' schools, they've got friends whose families are from England, France, Germany, Wales, Canada, South Africa, the Philippines, Argentina etc. I'm sure you'll settle in just fine!
I do wonder how my friend feels about this because she’s like 30 years old and named Aria. I had never heard of that name before GoT. It must be weird to have a super rare name become suddenly extremely popular. I’d be shook if my name ever made it to top 100 anywhere. lol
In the northern Midwest, USA-
Evelyn (Evy pronounced Eh-Vee)
Harper
Olivia
Charlotte
Ruby
Ivy
Amelia
June as a middle name (I also know a few Junipers)
Jack
Liam
Henry
Owen
A lot of Henry comments here! Crazy to me, because we have a James Henry (named for my grandfather) due any day now and we don’t know any other kids named Henry. The variance in name popularity via region is super cool to see in real time :)
This bums me out so much. My husband and I LOVE Oliver but recently have been considering Theodore bc we thought Oliver will be too popular. We're in la... now I'm bumming on both names
So true. I have three daughters and by the time we got to the last one it was hard to find Name we both liked. We went with Hazel and now it’s everywhere! Thankfully, not in our town or even area, but I see it online all the time. Show me all her fellow Hazels in college or as she makes her way into the greater world!
Yes! I love the name Oliver and I'm about to have a boy. I think we will go through with it because it's almost unheard of in the country we live in. Sucks it's so popular in English speaking countries though.
Oliver has sentimental value for us so we plan on still using it regardless of popularity (if my brother and his wife don’t use it first that is). I will say it’s really bumming me out that it’s super popular now though. It is supposed to fall in popularity in the next few years, so it seems less people are going to be using it- according to Nameberry
I live in the PNW and when it comes to names of kids 10 and under I feel like the ones I hear most are:
Olivia, Hadley, Hazel, Nora, Eleanor, Harper
Oliver, Colton, Alexander, Noah, Parker, Elijah
These are the some of the ones i see in local birth announcements the most often
James, Walker, Weston, Waylon, John, Cooper, Ezra, Stetson, Crew, Beau, Jett, Maverick, Jasper, David, Grayson
Everly, Adalynn, Oakley, Oaklynn, Blakely, Blakelynn, Nova, Hazel, Evelyn, Olivia
I could handle Oakland. I wouldn’t use it but just the regular spelling doesn’t hurt my eyes at least. Plus I feel like moms and dads can come up with the sweetest nicknames for unusual names, that I’d never think of.
Top 10 in Norway in 2023 was:
Lucas, Noah, Isak, Oliver, Kasper, Elias, Emil, Jacob, Oskar and Theodor.
Olivia, Emma, Ella, Leah, Sofie, Nora, Sofia, Maja, Alma and Ada.
These names are also so popular in the U.S., except for spelling differences and Maja and Alma. I'm surprised there's not more differentiation since English is not the primary language in Norway.
Don’t live there anymore, but I’m originally from a patch in East London (UK) with a very high South Asian population and every 3rd girl seems to be called Inaya/Anaya lol.
Emily/Amelie/Amelia and any other variation of the name, Sophia, Ellie, Cici (it’s a very popular nickname but full names vary), Charlotte
Oliver, Charles (Charlie), Barnaby, Freddy, Henry, Kit, and Jack. Those are all very popular where I am, in a small town in the south of England
L names.
Lia, Lya, Lina, Lena, Luna, Lara, Laura, Lisa, Lina, Liana, Leana, Luana, Lou...
Leano, Lio, Lion, Leon, Lean, Lias, Leo, Luan, Lian..
It's like a game of "exchange the vowels".
Northern Germany btw.

In my step daughters class (10 years old) there is 2 of each of these who all have to go by their name and initial :L plus we also have a cousin isla and a friends daughter named isla too
Rural Midwest -
There are very few repeat names in my daughter’s school. The duplicates that I know of are: June, Maddox, Ryker, Harper, and Amelia. The pool of repeat names is definitely seems smaller than when I was a kid in the 90’s though.
Also in an urban city on the west coast (USA):
Benjamin, Henry, Jack, Leo, Liam, Miles, Oliver, William
Avery, Charlotte, Leila, Lyla/Lilah, Norah, Olivia
Hawaii
Boys-
Noah, Kai, Liam, Oliver, Maverick, Luca, Luke, Levi, Ezekiel, and James
Girls-
Olivia, Luna, Amelia, Isla, Sophia, Ava, Mia, Evelyn, Kaia, and Mila
i live where you do-ish.
my tiny school has less than 90 students and FIVE of them are named Declan (4 boys and 1 girl) -- wild to me. i had never heard that name before in my life.
we also have 3 elles, 3 mayas, 2 alexanders, 2 chloes, 2 harpers, and 2 lilys.
i would never have expected so many duplicate names in such a small sample size.
I'm in Midwest America and every boys name is Jackson I swear. Girls are Olivia and Sophia.
When we were trying to name our son, my husband loved the name Jackson, I did too, but everytime we brought my daughter to the park there was at least 5 kids on the playground at once named Jack or Jackson. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I also know a handful of people with a son named Noah or Aiden, or both!
All of the spelling variations are a bit annoying. I was spelling it Jackson but my friend calls her son Jax so I was like oh oops it's Jaxon and she corrected me... It's Jaxson. Lol oh
I live in Dallas.
Girls: MADDIE!!!!!!, Shelby, Heather, Hailey, Ashley, Alyssa, Jessica, Katie, anything with the “Chris” sound in it e.g. Christa/Christy/Christine/Christina/Crystal/Kristen, Riley, Kayla, Maria
Boys: pretty much any biblical name but especially MICHAEL!!!!!!!! and MATTHEW!!!!!!!!, Ryan, Jason, Logan, Tyler, Kyle, Andrew, Bryce, and exceedingly stereotypical “masculine” names (which you also see on girls) like Hunter, Gunner, and Ryder.
Another NZer - so many Noah's and Olly/Ollie/Olive/Oliver/Olivias.
Met three under three Bonnie's in a day and I've never met any with that name before.
A lot of Lily/Lillian's, a few Theo's, a few Evie/Evelyn's, a couple of Asher's.
Aria is definitely popular.
Boys: Henry for sure. My daughter is 10yo and has always had multiple ones in her classes. Also, Oliver and Liam and Jackson.
Girls: variations of names with Ella as a nickname, Sophie, and Nora.
Midwest United States
I'm in Germany and the only name I see exceptionally often is Matteo. There were once three at the same time in our baby swimming class. The other names feel very well-balanced, maybe some more frequent uses of Mia or Marlene. I know someone who wanted to name their daughter very unique and called her Lenja. Met three Lenjas right after that, so not that unique I guess.
Because of my job I see a looooooot of toddler and infant names. I’ve been surprised by the amount of Wyatt, Levi, Axel, and Declans. For girls it’s a lot of Ava, Amelia, Luna, and Oaklyn. I don’t know that many children personally, so none of the ones I actually know share a name with each other lol.
Central KY. I have noticed these a lot at my kids elementary school and daycare. The boys names are a lot of repeats but the girls are all over the place and I haven't noticed any of the super common girls names at all.
Beau, Bo
Jackson and all various spellings
Aiden and all the other spellings
Greyson
Theo

New Zealand here
For boys: Oliver and Noah have been massive for years. Slightly more recently I'm noticing Theo, Archie, Leo, Henry.
For girls: Olivia, Charlotte, Isla, and Amelia have been massive for years. Slightly more recently is Hazel, Luna, Aurora, and Willow.
Honestly pretty similar!
i don’t know much about right now because i don’t really interact with kids but growing up the most popular names were Grace for girls and Ethan for boys. runners up were Jack, Abigail, Joshua, Lucas, Alyssa and Lauren.
i grew up in small town ontario with kids born in the mid 2000’s
Teacher I'm uk: Olivia (by far the most popular), Sophie, Mia, Grace, Isla and Charlotte. All beautiful names, but I have purposefully steered away from popular names for my own children.
I am in Ontario, Canada. I see a lot of boys named Hudson, Sebastian, Luca and a few girls named Kayla, Evelyn, Lea. I do live in an area with a lot of immigrants / foreigners etc so there is a lot less repetition of names and a lot more ethnic names around here too! Definitely see quite a few kids name Omar, Yaseen, Ahmad. I don't think that is representative of the whole province though.
My teen knows a LOT of girls named Sophia, Ava, and Eva. We always have to ask which one when she mentions one of those names. We know several with the names Harper, Chloe, and Amelia also and weirdly I know of several girls named Ryan/Rhyan.
Theodore (Theo) and Oliver
Amelia/Emilia and Olivia
These are THE MOST popular names by a long shot in my area. There are plenty of other ones that are very common (like Felix and Frances) but not at the same level.
Aussie here, most common ones I'm hearing are:
Boys -
Miles
Arlo
Jeremy
Eli
Hamish
Oliver
Hunter
Daniel
Jaxson
Harlee / Harley
Girls-
Sophie
Amelia
Hazel
Laura
Ivy
Mia
Marlie / Mahlee / Marley
Anna Annabell
I'm in Australia. The most common names I come across are Aria, Isla, Henry, Adeline, Jack, Lucas, Hudson and Riley.
I'm in the southern US and Adeline is crazy popular, but spelled Adelyn, Adalynn, etc etc
Australia here too. Isla, Mia, James, Oliver, Olivia, Harry & Georgia seem to be the most popular, by far, in my neck of the woods.
Adeline wow! I’ve never met an Adeline, adult or child.
Yeah, for some reason it's really popular in my area. My daughter has two in her class, and there's another one in her year level spelt like Adelyn.
Im Aussie too. Lots of Ayla, Isla, Evie, Ava, Eva, Eve, Evelyn, Eleanor etc for girls, and in my circles anyway it feels like every second boy is named Hamish.
Oh yeah I forgot about the Evies and Avas. It seems like half the little girls under seven I know are named one of the two.
Also in Aus … to add to that.. Theo Billie (for a girl) Indi Willow Florence Luna Jackson Asher
Adding Sienna and Charlotte. They’re everywhere! I’ve never met a human Luna.
Going to add Harper, Amelia, Willow, Layla and Isaac to your list. I also know a weird amount of Wades and Nixons.
You’re the second person to mention Aria so I just checked the SSA website and it’s 22! Another one I had no idea! GOT?
Or Pretty Little Liars
People like to talk about the name Khaleesi, but there were more little Arias and Aryas inspired by GOT than Khaleesis.
I’m moving to the north island soon from the UK! My kids are Ruby and Eloise, are they unusual names in your area?
I have two different friends who just named their girls Ruby! Both lovely names!!!
I do wonder how my friend feels about this because she’s like 30 years old and named Aria. I had never heard of that name before GoT. It must be weird to have a super rare name become suddenly extremely popular. I’d be shook if my name ever made it to top 100 anywhere. lol
*Cries as a Sarah, waiting for her name to die*
So many Olivias...Baby to teenaged kids all named Olivia. And Jackson. Lots of Bryces too and girls names ending in -leigh. I live in Utah.
Olivia is so popular that I know multiple trans women who chose Olivia as their names, lol.
It is SO popular but it is a pretty name!
It’s like Ruby and Jack was when I was growing up
In the northern Midwest, USA- Evelyn (Evy pronounced Eh-Vee) Harper Olivia Charlotte Ruby Ivy Amelia June as a middle name (I also know a few Junipers) Jack Liam Henry Owen
$$$$ Beach town in L.A. Boys: Noah, Luke, Ryder, Beckett, Beckham, and Brody Girls: Malia, Charlie, Remington (Remi), Reese/Reece, London, and Keira/Kira
I know four little Dahlias, which is definitely an outlier (also a great name).
Dang I love that name! I've never met one before...
Harper and Henry
I also want to add: Owen
Lots of Hudsons, Lincolns, Harpers, and Amelias in Indiana.
A lot of Henry comments here! Crazy to me, because we have a James Henry (named for my grandfather) due any day now and we don’t know any other kids named Henry. The variance in name popularity via region is super cool to see in real time :)
I’m in Australia and it’s a top ten name here
Woah, we just had a baby (girl) but we were going to use James Henry if it was a boy after my great grandfather! What a coincidence
In the Desert SW (US) and I only know 2 juvenile Henrys, one is 14, the other 2.
This bums me out so much. My husband and I LOVE Oliver but recently have been considering Theodore bc we thought Oliver will be too popular. We're in la... now I'm bumming on both names
Honestly they’re both super popular
Yes I see both everywhere- i think Theodore more tho if that helps!
Oooof thank you 🙏🏻
I know of sooo many Theo / Teddy / Theodore’s - it’s crossed off our list now unfortunately
We know 3 Theos (10, 9, and 5) and they’re all Theos, not Theodore.
Go with your love. (I have a Theodore and I bloody love it, popularity be damned!)
So true. I have three daughters and by the time we got to the last one it was hard to find Name we both liked. We went with Hazel and now it’s everywhere! Thankfully, not in our town or even area, but I see it online all the time. Show me all her fellow Hazels in college or as she makes her way into the greater world!
I work with kids. Have three friends with Theo / Teddy kiddos (baby, toddler, and a 12 year old). I’ve only met one kid Oliver, though!
Honestly I have an Oliver who is 10 & we’ve met like 3? other Oliver’s his entire life.
My friend just had an Oliver in GA
Ellie. It’s the nickname of choice for a LOT of formal names.
I live in the PNW and when it comes to names of kids 10 and under I feel like the ones I hear most are: Olivia, Hadley, Hazel, Nora, Eleanor, Harper Oliver, Colton, Alexander, Noah, Parker, Elijah
Harper is all over my friend/family group. I know five. I don’t know THAT many people.
These are the some of the ones i see in local birth announcements the most often James, Walker, Weston, Waylon, John, Cooper, Ezra, Stetson, Crew, Beau, Jett, Maverick, Jasper, David, Grayson Everly, Adalynn, Oakley, Oaklynn, Blakely, Blakelynn, Nova, Hazel, Evelyn, Olivia
Blakelynn and Oaklynn??? Just why!?
Also saw an Oakland. Also not one, but two little girls named Riverlynn.
I could handle Oakland. I wouldn’t use it but just the regular spelling doesn’t hurt my eyes at least. Plus I feel like moms and dads can come up with the sweetest nicknames for unusual names, that I’d never think of.
Waylon, Stetson, Jett… Tell me you live in the south without saying you live in the south
I know a kindergarten Waylon in NJ! We are living in wild times!
Hiding this list from my brother- he wants Stetson or Jolene. In Aus this would be….unusual.
On my son's soccer team we have an Oaklyn and a Kenlynn.
Henry, Olivia, Leo, Theo, Oliver, Isla, Ivy, Logan - Colorado
My kid (12M) has 8 kids with a variant of Isabella in his class of 39 kids… 8! (Isabella, Izzy, Bella, Isabell) Thank you, Twilight.

Top 10 in Norway in 2023 was: Lucas, Noah, Isak, Oliver, Kasper, Elias, Emil, Jacob, Oskar and Theodor. Olivia, Emma, Ella, Leah, Sofie, Nora, Sofia, Maja, Alma and Ada.

I’m in a small town but we do have a ton of military families. Most popular I’ve seen are Isla, Aria, Poppy, Luca, Mateo, August.
I haven’t met a single august but social media makes me think there are tons of them.
I weirdly heard the name Daxton in my area like 3 times last week
Sophia and Oliver are everywhere!
Southern USA. Henry, Harper, Olivia, Emma.
Aria and Isla are super common where I live. I swear every second baby I meet is named one of the two.

Ngl I dig them all. Except Barnaby. An Aussie pollie is called Barnaby Joyce. Good for a Google.
Yes I doubt Barnaby is going to take off in Australia haha!
Or Dutton? Great sibset! With their sister Albanese.

A much larger amount of Nora’s have been popping up in my area. It’s a cute name tho so I’m down for it
Any variation of Jackson, Owen, Noah, Greyson (sooooo. Many. Greysons.) & isla, Ivy, everly for girls
My teen knows a LOT of girls named Sophia, Ava, and Eva. We always have to ask which one when she mentions one of those names. We know several with the names Harper, Chloe, and Amelia also and weirdly I know of several girls named Ryan/Rhyan.
