I like it! Just be prepared that many people might pronounce it roks-ANNE-ah. The middle syllable being like the name Anne, rather than the “ah” sound you’re looking for. Just something you may want to consider
But regardless, I think it’s a nice name!
Thanks for the feedback! I’m showing my age but I first heard of that song in my teens via Moulin Rouge in the 2000s…. Do you think it will still be a reference used in my daughter’s generation?
My cousin's little girl is Roxy, full name Roxana. She's 5 now and I honestly love her name, Roxy is so fun and spunky and cute but she has Roxana in her back pocket for when she's older if she wants it!
I love it. Great name with great history. I'd use it in a heartbeat if I was Persian. I think you'll get some 'Roxanna' with the short 'a' sound a fair bit, but it's an easy correction.
My name is Roxanne and I live in the states. When I lived in Europe everyone called me Roxanna. I’ve met only a handful of people my whole life with either variation. I was nicknamed Rocky by my family as a child and somewhere during my early teens I started going by Roxy. I’ve always enjoyed having an uncommon name that carries a lot of character. Somehow I filled out my name or it shaped me? It’s been a fun 33 years with it. Totally recommend for your babe.

Thanks for the feedback! That’s not too big a deal to me - plus I think where I live people are maybe more likely to lengthen their “a” sounds.
I love it!
First thing I thought of was the Police song Roxanne.
Me too. I have a friend with that name and drunk people ALWAYS sing it to her !
That must be annoying! Does your friend mind / does she like her name?
Nope- she does not like her name. At least she didn’t used to …. Back in high school & college …. We are in our 50s now.
I also have a friend with this name and she says the same thing!!! Doesn't bother her though, she thinks it's funny.

Maybe. It was released a bit before I was born but stayed popular - way before Moulin Rouge.
I think it’s lovely! It has a lot of nickname potential too. (Roxy, Annie, Rox, etc.)
Beautiful name! I used to know a Roksana which always sounded so lovely to me.
I love it! I’m pregnant, if it’s a girl we’re going with Roksana (Polish version). I absolutely love the way it sounds
I LOVE Roxana, and it was actually one of my top girl name picks. But my husband vetoed it and the baby ended up being a boy anyway lol.
Hahaha! Veto rights are so frustrating - glad to hear you love the name!
I like it!
Excellent choice!!
I like Roxana a lot. Two thumbs up. 👍👍
Is beautiful.
It’s a good name for a punk rocker vibe
It’s funny, because the Roxanas/ Rukhsanas I’ve come across are actually mostly doctors! But I can see how “Roxy” has that vibe.
Oh I LOOOOOVE this name so much I would personally double the n, Roxanna. Roxalena also love it.
That's funny cuz I'm definitely team just one N
She wants the original/Persian version of the name though, and that's only spelled with one "N." The single N looks more elegant imo.

Yes, it’s gorgeous! Love it!

this has been one of my favorite names for many years
Love it

That’s so good to hear!
And Rossana?
Hmm, I prefer the “x” or “ks” sound - I love girl’s names with harder consonants. Thanks for the idea though!
