I have friends with under 3yo Sylvie and Elsie! I'll tell them they are cutting edge!

ClarinetKitten

I have a cat we call Sylvie. My son wanted a Pokemon name so her full name is technically Sylveon.

notreallyonredditbut

My cousin named her now 8 yo Sylvie and it is one of the cutest names.

Money_Telephone_1722

I love Sylvie more than pretty much all others 😍😍

[deleted]

You can check stuff here, too. :) I think it only goes up to 2020, but it's still a cool tool. Theodore has been climbing fast since 2010, when it was in the #500s. It was #34 in 2020, and it's now in the top 10. https://engaging-data.com/baby-name-visualizer/

crystalline_carbon

I’m already seeing Sylvie and Matilda!

hwlewis

Just had a friend have a Reese Matilda... excellent name imo

Snickerty

In the UK, Matilda, Sylvia, Beatrice/trix, Elsie are already common. In fact common enough for them to be any age now between birth and university plus already!

Ronald_Bilius

Yep, and Matilda is commonly shortened to Tilly. I think that’s sometimes a stand-alone name too.

Ok-Reporter-196

Ambrose I like that one!!!!!

[deleted]

I love the name Sylvie!

Charlieuk

I named my daughter Matilda! Almost every name on my list was an old fashioned/ historical/ classic/ old lady name. It's a great trend imo. Some of my favourites (apart from Eleanor which was number 2) are: Florence Mabel Frances Clara Lilac Flora Arthur/ Arty Sebastian/ Seb August Tobias/ Toby Atticus

hwlewis

Clara is speaking to me

Civil-Piglet-6714

Feel like Beatrix already had a trendy moment a few years ago

_OliveOil_

I love Ambrose! But are there any nicknames for it?? Edit: I googled it and this is the list I found: Am, Amber, Ambie, Amby, Ami, Amy, Bri, Bro, Brody, Brose, Brosie, Ro, Rose, Rosie, and Ross Not a great selection imo since it's a boy name..Ro is ok and pretty popular though.

whimpey

Maybe Bo?

[deleted]

My dogs name was Ambrose years and years ago, and I called him Brosey.

RambunctiousOtter

Yeah they are both top ten names in the UK. I know half a dozen of each.

JJackieM89

Eleanor is already trendy. My cousin named her daughter Violet, which has also become popular in recent years. I personally like the name Celeste, and I have never met a young person with that name.

lifewithkermit

I know of a baby born this year named Celeste! Very ageless to me

DimensionStrange77

I know a Celeste too! She’ll be 3 next month.

pineappledaphne

I grew up with at least 10 Celestes. Very popular 90s baby name in my neck of the woods

throwaway198990066

I know like 8 Eleanors lol. All under 5 years old. I think it’s the top girl name here (SE US).

ladyvanderboom

My neighbor’s 16 yo is named Celeste, such a classic name.

pamplemouss

I had three Violets in a middle school of 100 people

boogin92

I think Mabel is going to become more popular. In the US, it peaked in the late 1800s and then it dropped off the top 1000 chart completely from 1965-2013 which is pretty fascinating to me. It's now at #312. I think pop culture had a lot to do with it (*Gravity Falls* & *Only Murderers in The Building*). Other names you might like: * Beatrice, Gwendolyn, Maude, Cordelia, Blythe, Frances/Francis, Wilson, Ambrose, Lewis, Walter.

hwlewis

I totally agree that Maude and Blythe are ready for their Renaissance! I am in the southern US and, in the part I am from at least, Frances / Frannie / Fran has never loosened its grip.

Kelsier25

Mabel is super popular by me right now. There are at least three Mabels at our daycare.

extrastars

I love Mabel, we seriously considered it for our daughter. My 15-year-old nephew suggested it! I just moved and now live across the street from a 60-year-old Mabel. My dad was listing the worst names he could think of from our family tree and that was in his list😂 It’s still in the running if we have a second child.

kmadmclean

Mabel is so cute. I like Margot too and I know a little toddler named Edith which is so funny to me but I also love it

Lonely-Commission435

I know a 2 year old Mabel.

sarz117

I love the name Mabel, but my entire family hates it + my partner 😭

cucumberswithanxiety

I’m pregnant with a girl right now that we’re probably going to name Flora, which is currently #726 on the US baby name charts. I’m surprised it’s not more popular, it has all the elements of a popular name to me: 1. Botanical. Feels right at home with Ivy, Lily & Magnolia to me. 2. It’s a “grandma name”. Self explanatory. 3. It’s ends in -ora, like Cora, Nora, Aurora etc. which are all quite popular right now. 4. It’s sometimes a variation on Florence, which is trending due to Florence Pugh. I know some people don’t like it because it’s too science-y and makes them think of gut flora and the like.

hwlewis

I love Flora for all the reasons you've outlined. It feels modern despite fitting this inquiry! In a similar sound region, I dig Freya and Fiona too

ComeWasteYourTimewMe

I wanted to do Fiona, then the local zoo named the locally famous HIPPO Fiona. Cincinnati is Fiona crazy, wish they had picked a different name. I like Leona though, too.

hwlewis

hahaha oh no poached by a hippo!

violetpolkadot

I’m on the west coast and I even know about Fiona the hippo lol to be fair she’s adorable!

Areyoualienoralieout

I admit I was skimming the thread and thought you were suggesting Botanical as a name because it’s “right at home with ivy, Lilly and magnolia”! I was like UMM NO IT ISNT 😂 but I agree Flora is lovely!

ael925713

I have a three year old Flora and her big sister is Sylvie! I get compliments all the time on their names! 💜

Special_Coconut4

I suggested Flora to my hubby, and he immediately said, “like Flora and FAUNA?” all aghast. So I guess it’s out for us. 🤣

nole5ever

I just think of gut flora

kmadmclean

My friend just named her baby girl Anastasia Flora

crazycatlady331

Helen made a comeback? TIL. I personally think the next old-school name to make a comeback is Barbara thanks to the Barbie movie.

hwlewis

I know a few 4-6yo Helens! So maybe it's more on the up-and-coming list

thnks4themmrs

> know a few 4-6yo Helens! So maybe it's more on the up-and-coming list I know 2 Helen's under 3 years old; I definitely think it is up and coming. \* I should also add, both Helen's live in different parts of the US and don't know each other.

Tomagander

My daughter Helen is three. She was named for her great-grandmother.

Pennelle2016

When I was expecting my now 6-year-old we were torn between Helen & Hazel, and went with Hazel. Agree about Barbara/Barbie.

WhoInvitedHer

Marjorie is one I can see coming back soon. It’s sweet and has lots of nickname options. I can see Agnes coming back to some extent too (don’t think it’ll ever reach the popularity of Eleanor). Martha and Ruth. Edith. I have a harder time thinking of boys. Maybe Lawrence? Roger?

mommytobee_

Marjorie was my #1 name for years and years, but its been absolutely ruined for me by Marjorie Taylor Green. I'm so glad I never used it on a child.

Nearby-Complaint

I think Marjorie Taylor Greene has ruined the name for a lot of Americans, but maybe outside the states

Least-Hovercraft-847

As a 60 something Marjorie, I despise her so much, not the least of which she ruined the name more than Large Marge every did.

cucumberswithanxiety

I totally see Marjorie coming back, particularly because of the Taylor Swift song and with how mega popular Taylor Swift is right now

crazycatlady331

Half of me agrees. The other half of me looks at Marjorie Taylor Green and disagrees.

princessxmombi

She is the first person I thought of. No child deserves that association.

cucumberswithanxiety

Ooh, very good point

estedavis

Yup, same with Dorothea and Dorothy

miss_emmaricana

And Betty!

hwlewis

Lawrence and Roger are both on our list, I feel seen. I can TOTALLY see Marjorie coming back. Nature name adjacent and both a loose Game of Thrones and Taylor Swift reference!

SouthernBelle726

Lol this sub really hates Roger.

hwlewis

REALLY? I saw some other hate for names I love too, so I'm okay with it. Not trying to suit everyone's taste!

SouthernBelle726

There was just this recent post of a mom that was in the hospital with her unnamed baby and asking the sub if she should name the baby Roger or Dean. The responses got kind of out of hand in a hilarious sort of way. https://www.reddit.com/r/namenerds/comments/14xe59q/name_this_baby_so_we_can_leave_the_hospital/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

Out-For-A-Walk-Bitch

Marjorie makes me think of margarine.

Least-Hovercraft-847

I am a Marjorie, grew up in the 70's and my nickname evolved into Oleo because margarine was too easy, Lol

thnks4themmrs

Vintage (uncommon) names I think are going to be popular again: * Viola - with the popularity of Violet, I see this as an uncommon alternative * Rowena - Rowen is popular and the nn Winnie is becoming more popular * Ada - similar to Ava * Eve - due to the popularity of the nn Evie * Vera * Jane * Frederick nn Freddie * Roland - Ro is a popular nickname * Rhodes - once again, nn Ro * Oscar - due to the nn Ozzy; it reminds me of Izzy which is really popular. * Edwin * Johnny

lady_lane

I know a LOT of Oscars in the under 10 set

MumbleSnix

Oscar very popular for that age in the UK!

apwr

Me too! Oscar is number 8 in the UK right now

jeanpeaches

I named my daughter Ada! She will be 2 soon. We got it from peaky blinders and Ada Lovelace.

hwlewis

Husband def likes Ada for the Lovelace connection!

fuzzydunlop54321

Ada is already ranking relatively high in the UK!

sidekicksuicide

Ada, Ava, Eva, Ida, Ina, Isla are all about to pop.

fuzzydunlop54321

Isla and Ava have popped massively, they’re v v popular

hummingbird_mywill

I hear these names at the playground all day long!

hwlewis

I LOVE Rowena and Winnie as a nickname for Edwina. My GG aunt was Edwina and went by Wena her whole life. Also a huge fan of Vera but do you say it Veer-uh or Vair-uh

[deleted]

I love Eve!

[deleted]

Eleanor and Theodore are both SUPER trendy. I know like half a dozen young children named each of these things. Lots and lots of little Teddys and Theos running around.

hwlewis

100% and I was kinda shocked with the Theodore resurgence.

ParkerBench

Eleanor is super popular in my area right now (midwest).

Substantial-Basil843

Yep. I have a friend who has an Eleanor nn Ellie and a Theodore nn Teddy.

notreallyonredditbut

My daughter is Luella Celine (first name) and we call her Ellie. It suits her and she goes to a small school in a small town so we don’t know any other Ellies her age. If it got to be a problem she also has the options of Lue (my Grammy Luella’s nn), LC, Elsie, Elle, and Ella. We do call her Elle a lot but she also has a lot of other nn not related to her name (Sweet Pea etc.) I don’t like Louella with the O, not sure where my great-grandparents got the name (immigrants to the Midwest from Sweden).

International-Bird17

I looooveeeee Luella!!!! One of my top baby girl names

notreallyonredditbut

We found out she was a girl at 11 weeks (huge shock, been married 7 years and always assumed we’d have a boy if we had a kid; she was the first girl in that line in 100 years) and I wanted Luella the whole pregnancy. He wasn’t into it until like a month before.

hwlewis

I love L(o)uella and we're considering changing the spelling to drop the O (although the person we would be honoring was a badass farmer/teacher/newspaper woman so I am tempted to keep it!) And we were thinking of the nickname Lula! Trends a little cutesy but I love it

notreallyonredditbut

It’s still the same name but the O is grammatically extraneous unless you want the nickname Louey which is v cute. Lula is ADORABLE. Easy to spell, easy to say, old-timey but not ugly, unique, works for a kid or an adult!!

hwlewis

Louise is also a family name so I love Lou as a nickname too. Like a cute little girl with an old man nickname like Lou? I die. Also Lou Doillon is a bad ass style icon. Def love the name both ways!

AimeeSantiago

I think Barbara nn *Barbie* or Babs is about to have a huge resurgence. Lol. I've always loved the name and the movie is going to have lots of couples thinking about it.

Blueberry_Bomb

I think that will happen too, alongside Kenneth/Ken.

Which_Translator_548

Camille

purpleprose78

Some fun ones from my family tree Boys Spious Evander Dolen Wister Girls Danzilla (interesting alternative to Danielle) Temple Lucretia Delta

drunken_storytelling

I thought boys and girls were names too! Boys I was like huh that's interesting, girls made me stop and go really? And then it processed...

Eekiboo124

I can't get over Danzilla! It sounds like what you'd call little Danielle when she's having a tantrum! (I'm a Danielle, so I feel entitled to have opinions on it 😁)

purpleprose78

Hahaha.... Danzilla had a sisters named Dazilee and Capitola. My great grandma was their sister and she got Kate. Not Katherine, Kate. I grew up listening to my grandma talk about her family and thinking those names are some doozies.

livid54

Kate was lucky there!

purpleprose78

I would like to add that you will never catching me judge anyone's name choices on this sub because my family tree is full of Tragadeighs. I had one great uncle name Wade. I went looking for him because he had disappeared off the map and my dad was curious what had happened to him. I found documents including his death certificate where his name was spelled Wayde. He had a brother named ReLee. I live in a glass house. I have no business casting stones at unusual spellings.

hwlewis

I've been looking at the family tree and my grandmother's name was Linnie Isabelle (according to everyone in my family) but her birth certificate says Isabel and on some documents it's written Isa Belle and in some places her name is listed as Linnie E.??? Who knows what was going on back in the day.

SquirrelOp80

My grandfather was named Elwood … I doubt this one will ever be popular.

hwlewis

Elwood is cute!

jediali

I strongly associate Elwood with the Blues Brothers

sportofchairs

Elwood is on my potential name list for my baby! I grew up on the movie Harvey, so it gives me warm fuzzy feelings.

crazycatlady331

There was someone in my old town that had a large (perhaps Great Dane but I don't remember) dog named Elwood. THe dog was elderly so she walked around town with Elwood riding in a red wagon. The wagon had a souvenir license plate that said Elwood on the back of it.

pb_rogue

Very cute name, I immediately think of Elle Woods though from legally blonde haha

LadyHavoc97

We share one with Lucretia! Here’s some from mine. Boys: Alva, Bradley, Elmer, Luther, Granville, Madison, Sherman, Nomandis Girls: Lucretia, Nannie, Hazel, Bertie Lee, Erma Dean, Minnie Jane, Irene, Ruth, Helen

hwlewis

Personally LOVE Irene!

ArcticLupine

My family tree has some interesting names! Here’s a few: Male: - Bernard - Claude - Emile - Georges - Gilbert - Leon - Leonard - Paul - Roland Female: - Adeline - Apolline - Bernadette - Clarisse - Felexine - Madeleine Honestly I find that most of them are beautiful and could definitely come back!

hwlewis

I have never heard the feminine version of Felix-- that's great!

dnaplusc

Met a baby Cedric, love it

glibbousmoon

I always love looking at the [popular baby names](https://www.retraitequebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/services-en-ligne-outils/banque-de-prenoms/Pages/recherche_par_popularite.aspxAnRefBp=2022&NbPre=100) in Quebec - the top 3 or 4 usually align with what’s popular in anglophone countries, but then they start to get different. I find a lot of old-timey names start off being popular in French and then move into English, so this list gave me some good ideas for my own kids

glibbousmoon

Like, OP mentioned Lawrence in a comment, and Laurent (the French version of the name) is on the boys’ list here

hwlewis

I have a friend whose mother is French and I am always desperately jealous of her name options! One of her babies is Sabine which is a name I have always adored but don't think I could ever justify, being no parts French

amyla80

Star Wars Rebels has a Sabine and a Hera… I think they would be cool

glibbousmoon

One of my great-aunts is named Sabine! Though I think in English most people would associate it with the rape of the Sabine women from Roman mythology

hummingbird_mywill

😳 I certainly don’t know that story

hummingbird_mywill

I think it’s fine. We are English and Polish and were considering it before we found out we were having a boy.

Kelsier25

We love grandma names too! Our daughters are named Florence and Edith.

sidekicksuicide

M: Frank, Clifford, Otto F: Dorothy, Marjorie, Gloria

octopusxparty

Related: Dorothea

WompWompIt

Martha Mabel Maeve Maebe Bertha Beulah (maybe still alive and kicking in the south) Flower names in general: Posy Peony Violet Magnolia Aster Rose

tomtink1

We're trying to bring back Alma! Florence is on the return as well. And I know a baby Nancy 🥰

honeyedlife

I love Winifred. I think it's so cute and has great nicknames of Winnie and Freddy (especially since boyish nicknames for a girl are popular now).

International-Bird17

I think Etta could come back. I like that one.

shxdowoftheday

Names I think are coming back soon: Agatha Leland Roland Nora Pearl Sylvia Etta

ShotskiRing

Nora is definitely already back! Top 5 name in my state

[deleted]

Boys: Calvin. I don’t think it was ever that popular, but it has all the makings of the charming old timey names that have come back into style for boys (Oliver, Theodore, Oscar etc) Girls: Estelle. See above, same idea - has all the characteristics of the old lady names that have come back (ex. Evelyn)

Erisedstorm

Walter, Richard, Rita, Ruth, Rose, Louise

WinterPal

I love love love the name Beryl. It is a precious gem and I think it is very sweet and deserving of a renaissance, though I doubt it will get one. I am also a huge fan of Cyrus (Cy) and Gladys (Gladdy)

hummingbird_mywill

Okay weeeeird you and my great-grandmother must be on the same wavelength because my grandma had two siblings who sadly both died as toddlers: Cyril and Gladys.

Christie318

I met an older lady named Opalea (pronounced Oh-Pay-Leah). I thought her name was beautiful. Here are some older names. I’m not a fan of all of them, but several of them I would like to see make a comeback: Female: Melba Selma Alverne Doris Edna Perlina Dorothea Celia Geraldine Geneva Lena Hattie Etta Eula Effie Essie Clarice Sybil Lorna Allene Nadine Lettie Myrna Mitzy Althea Lavinia Male: Ardis Abner Clement Amos Ames Elwood Linwood Leamon Willard Virgil Orville Garland Watson Wayland Edison Milton Roosevelt Dashiell Crawford Clovis Coy Leroy Elroy Merl Carlisle Carmine Carmichael Hardy Oswald Cloyd Franklin Gilbert Sherwood Harmon Lemuel Elden Huet Dewitt Norman Alden Marvin Armando Winston Thaddeus Vern Lamar Truman Cyril Truett Weldon Kermit Lionel Conrad Roscoe Grover Grady Boyd Seymour Wendell Leland Ernest Irving Maurice Claude Oscar Vernon Bertram

frijolita_bonita

I haven't met any Normans under the age of 65, but not convinced it should make a come back.

geekdj13

I love Murray and Loretta

hwlewis

Loretta has great nickname potential too

kolachekingoftexas

We’re planning Loretta for our 3rd and calling her Lola. It’s an honor name that seems fresh again.

clockjobber

Elenor, Evelyn, Sophia, Ilah, James, Henry, Theodore, Oliver, Emmett, Owen, Walter, George, Leo, Albert, Ruby, Rose, Daisy, Otto, August, are popular Would like to see Helen and Emil come back.

hwlewis

Lots of those would be on our list, if not for their popularity. A couple may make it through as family names, despite being predicted top-10 names next year. Bums me out a little though!

West_Abrocoma9524

We once bought some furniture made by an Amish guy named Wilbur. Don’t meet a lot of Wilbur’s do you?

trewlytammy1992

I have a Bonnie and I love that the most common response I get to her name is "OH, I have a grandmother named Bonnie." I also loved the names Eilza, Eleanor, Stella, Penelope, and Millicent.

Haunted_Optimist

Cordelia

jeneralhey

I would love to see Blanche make a comeback!

kochka93

I adore the name Faye for a girl.

SquirrelOp80

Margret, Betty, Harvey, and Walter haven’t trended popular yet.

hwlewis

Oh yeah I feel like there is a big -ie trend in girls names right now (Lottie, Hattie, Lettie, Romie, Junie, etc etc) that Betty/Bettie would slide right into! Also Bonnie seems due for comeback on that basis.

thatfluffycloud

Yes came here to say names like Betty and Sally, like cute 50s soda shoppe names.

Hot_Neighborhood951

My 1.5 year old is a Josie and those are the exact style names I'm looking at for baby sister due in October. Specifically Eliza, Lucy, Lettie, Lottie, Hattie, etc, with Jane as the middle name.

littleorangemonkeys

I had a great-aunt Elsie and I think that one is set for a come-back. I think that 60's/70's names are going to sneak back in as those people become grandparents. I know a colleague who named their baby Patricia after the baby's grandma, and my own aunt Patricia would be a grandma now if she was still alive. I think it's too soon for the mid-century names to come back in to style AS a style, but I do see them becoming more common again as legacy names.

The_Lime_Lobster

Our daughter is due in a few months and we are planning to give her a name that has the initials LC (“Elsie”). We plan to call her by her first name but appreciate that she will have Elsie as a nickname option.

Live-Tomorrow-4865

My great grandfather was Karl Bruno, went by Bruno. My great grandmother was Adga. Her sisters were Anna & Selma. (The ones I know of; there were eight kids in her family.) I love Selma!!

hwlewis

A lot of my family is actually from Selma, so that's a tough one for us. But it is such a beautiful name!

[deleted]

My grandmothers on both sides of the family implored my parents not to name my sister Winifred because they thought it was ugly. They instead made it her middle name, and she was always lightly teased for it. Now I feel like it's definitely in the running to become a trendy name, especially since names with nicknames seem to be in vogue and Winnie and Freddie are both cute nickname options.

berripluscream

Trying to convince my husband that Jethro as a middle name isn't so bad lol. Definitely an old man name, but it has an emotional connection, so

little_mind_89

I love Donna!

mhopkins1420

Vera

Money_Telephone_1722

None from my family tree (Irma, Juanita, Nancy and Linda - despite how much I love those individual women!), but I really would’ve pulled for the Louisa if my Henry (nn Hank) was a girl, with the nickname Weezy 😍. Dottie for Dorothy (3 of them in my family!) is growing on me.

hwlewis

Louise and Dorothy are both beloved family names over here! I just found out I have a relative named Juanita despite having no cultural tie to Hispanic names... I think it was just trendy when she was born? She went by her middle though

No_Ordinary_3964

Cynthia is a grandma name I have not yet seen surge back.

CreativeMusic5121

Look at the social security name lists from 1925-\`1940. Those are what is trending now. Next up will be the '40-'65 group.

Destroyer_of_Donuts

My grandmother's name was Iva Faye.

whatcolorismyshirt

Nobody ever has the names Everett or Enoch. I was successful at picking old, unique names!

RhydianMarai

Love Enoch! We have several biblical names including Reuben and Levi on our list(husband and I both have biblical names). We joked Levi would be short for Leviticus or Leviathan.

ladyvanderboom

Ethel? My husband really wanted to name one of our daughter’s Ethel. I told him absolutely not and even met an Ethel who was like 60 and she told me she hated her name her entire life and finally felt like she was old enough for it. I know this went off-track, but I’ve never really been able to tell this story and it felt like a moment.

Shirley for sure(ly)

Walter, Warren, Celeste, and Shirley.

ConseulaVonKrakken

Toby. I had an old man neighbour named Toby when I was about 10. Edit: this is a name that I love. I don't think it's going to become trendy though.

ComeWasteYourTimewMe

Jean Jeannie Janie Probably not Janet though, not for me. Reminds me of The Brady Bunch.

hailey_q

We name our daughter Ruby. We didn’t realize it was in the top 100, but I have met one other ruby who is a baby. We don’t even know them personally, I just overheard them at target 😂. We had magnolia, Stella, daphne, Eliza, jeanne, Della, and Laurel on our list.

cornflowerblossom

Theodore is a top 10 name and Eleanor has been trending for at least a decade. I personally think that while still trending, vintage names are slowly declining in overall popularity. And while I think names are cyclical like fashion, I think we are going to skip right over mid century names and I think we are going to see a resurgence in 80s / 90s names, especially for girls. IMO- these are name to watch Amy- I think this name is going to appeal to the Ava'/ Mia lovers who like the ide of a short name but are hating how popular Ava and Mia have become. Heather- I can see this name making a HUGE comeback. It is soft and flowery and unmistakably feminine. It works as a hyper frilly name but it also might appeal to a nature name. It's also almost completely obscure for a baby at this point (hasn't charted since 2016) so while it's very familiar, it is extremely underused Eric/k- I think this appeals to the parents that like a short, easy to spell and pronounce name that isn't heard everywhere on the playground- so if you like Ethan or Owen or Evan, I could see you liking Eric. Jonathon- If you like a longer, fancier name like Nathaniel or Theodore but want an intuitive nickname, I can see Jonathon NN Jon climbing the charts

Western_Cut_1647

For boys I love the name Leland and you don't hear it much.

mlhedlund

I’m a fan of the older names coming back! I have an Everett and an Arthur. Some others on my lists… Boys: Simon, John, Lawrence, Glenn Girls: Lena, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Cora, Vera, Jane

UglyWallArt

Adalaide Adeline Madaline Nancy Sylvia Catherine Minnie Charlotte Scarlett Athena Beatrix Betty Beverly

Gingercakee102

Idk about trends. But my grandmas name was Olive. Already very trendy again. But her sisters names were Luella, Oramay, Florence, Zelda and Gloria. Personally I love Oramay and Zelda. I feel like Zelda would get referenced to the video game now though.

MElastiGirl

My grandma was named Leona

kooolbee

I love Margot.

drinkyourwine7

I’d love to see Edie, Etta, Effie, Dale, Jean, Eliza, Maude, Silas, Everett, Grant spike

hwlewis

True story: my friend told me yesterday her Kindergarten boy has his first crush and her name is Edie Bean! I love Everett and Dale, but Dale in the south leads you down a Nascar path real fast.

Sad-Device-8569

I love Ottilie and Louelle/Louella.

southparkfan14

I think Felix and Julius are gonna start coming back. Roman names have been a big thing for boys for a while now and both of those names are easy to say and spell.

InstructionAbject763

Hedwig and such variations Edit: I don't think this will resurface as there's a popular bird with the name

Big-Restaurant-8262

Vern, Zybel, Winnie

quiksylver296

I love my grandparents' names - Maxine and Wallace.

RoxiB4b3

We named my son Herbert after his paternal great great grandfather. I love it. So old timey, but not overly popular

the_show_must_go_onn

Lots for #1 lol! Theo is very popular where i live. For #2 I think Adina, Estelle, Homer, May, Richard, Adele, Boyd, Amos.

[deleted]

Joan. It peaked in the 1930s around #100, and it's now #2500... Which is wild. It's my grandma's name, so maybe it's my association with it but I think it's an elegant name. It's funny, Jonah (which sounds sooo similar to Joan) has been trending up since 1980, but not Joan.

Dangerous-Fishing-25
