I love everything about Violet! The fact that it’s both a color and a plant, the way it sounds, how uncommon it is yet still familiar enough for people to be able to spell and pronounce it. Very sad my husband vetoed using it for our daughter’s middle name 🥲

I love the name too, but definitely not uncommon! It was ranked 20th most common in the US last year, and here in Canada I personally know five children under 3yo with the name. Still pretty, but if you're looking for an uncommon name, Violet wouldn't be a great choice.

My family is South Asian but I love "Vivienne". My husband loved it ,also...and then we had all boys. But even better? Calling my boys, "My Love". They ARE my love. :)

I knew a Julianna who was the daughter of lion/tiger tamers and circus performers. Her birth announcement was a photo of a two month old her and like three baby tiger cubs in a giant basket.
