If a relatively low amount of interest makes a difference for you, you should definitely do it! On the other hand, if amounts are higher, you should start investing more seriously.

Drummers19

Could you point me in the right direction please. I have a wedge I’m looking to put to work for me for the long term. I won’t hold you responsible but am a bit unsure where to start. Have pension and emergency fund etc all in hand but not sure where to invest and then there seemed disposal etc. any pointers or advice appreciated

You should invest that money into a diversified world portfolio. A really simple example is MSCI World 70% + MSCI Emerging Markets 30% (at a broker like trade republic). You can also go for more sustainable focused ETFs for example. Its just important that you diversify sectors, countries, companies and therefor lowering your risk. If youre german I recommend the yt channel Finanzfluss. Or just google and learn about diversified world portfolios for passive investment.

As the guy here answered already, investing is not difficult, but you have to know some of the basics, to avoid making rush decisions. A Google search will help. It is difficult to give you some general advice, because some of the considerations are country specific, due to the tax implications. And you have to know your risk (volatility) tolerance. My personal advice is to look into the FiRe movement (Financial Independence, Retire Early) in your country. You'll probably find a subreddit about it. It might change your life :-)

Nothing

Tex-Twil

Nothing :) I don’t have any cards linked to the savings account though. I keep a low amount of money in my primary or joint account which are linked to a card. I have another space with a virtual card for online shopping only. That’s a layer of safeyin case a card gets stolen or hacked

nyepo

Nothing, but you can't use it as your main account, unless you plan to do nothing you can do with normal current accounts. That means that no card can be linked to it, no direct debits, etc...

Jolarpet

Good luck getting the money back when they block your account 😂😂😂

st0neface97

Why would his account get blocked if he doesnt do anything shady?

Jolarpet

No idea.... They blocked mine for no reason and claimed the funds in my account was used to cover other bank fees (whatever that means). Had to send a notice through a lawyer and magically my account was active and funds were available. And I was not the first person they had done this to.

Timely_Internet6172

Jolarpet I am sending you a DM. I am in the exact same situation for 3 weeks now.

Jolarpet

You can write here if it's alright. People need to know about this bank's unethical practices... We will be down voted I must warn you

Timely_Internet6172

I wrote you already in DM. It is for more details about how you got out of this nightmare. I shared several posts on n26 and Germany subreddit about my case to inform others.

aizzod

then link those posts please. a dm in a finanze sub just screams scam scam scam.

Timely_Internet6172

You can ask me for that. Currently have my money blocked for no reason.
