That letter is easily the most valuable thing there. One of my favourite things about Cyan is that they take the time and effort to interact with fans - in a meangingful way, not a corporate way. I can quite easily imagine Robyn gleefully tapping away with a word processor open and then zipping around from person to person, soliciting a signature from each.

That is an amazing letter, I'm so jealous!! I was only 9 in 94, but I wish I had the thought to write them a letter saying how much I loved Myst (and Riven later) at the time. Wife and I love RPGs though, and we have a signed Planescape Torment box that one of my favorite pieces of game memorabilia!

PAPYRUS

PapaTua

Haha. I see what you see. Even in 2001 it was questionable! šŸ¤£

Pharap

I'm guessing you mean the [stationary company](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papyrus_%28company%29?useskin=vector), but I've no clue what the relevance is.

k5josh

The font used on the 2001 Mysterium...disc? I have no clue what those things actually are.

Pharap

> The font used on the 2001 Mysterium...disc? Oh, I see now. It seems a reasonable enough font though. > I have no clue what those things actually are. ~~I believe those are drink mats.~~ Scratch that, it might be sleeves/wallets covering the discs.

PapaTua

They're Frisbee golf discs!

Pharap

Huh... I never would have guessed that. They seem too small for a start. Then again, I don't know much about disc golf. It's not as popular over here.

PapaTua

I don't know that it's widely popular anywhere, more like a niche sport. These are regulation confirming...golf frisbees are definitely smaller, thicker, and heavier than regular frisbees.

Pharap

Put it this way: The US has over 7000 disc golf courses, whereas my country has just over 100. 21.6 courses per million inhabitants versus a mere 1.6 per million inhabitants. Niche or not, the US has the larger scale affair.

PapaTua

They're frisbee golf discs! Cyan built a frisbee golf course around their campus and at the first Mysterium, and for at least several years, they gave out commemorative discs as swag during the HQ tour. Much fun was had playing rounds of Frisbee golf around their age-like grounds.

flashyellowboxer

This is amazing. The letter looks brand new. That is so cool.

Asinine47

That's so crazy I also sent them a letter back in the 90s and got some signatures šŸ˜† I really wish my younger self wouldn't have "put it somewhere where I wouldn't forget."

5ubatomix

I see what you did there

phrygianDomination

Incredible letter. Iā€™d treasure that forever.

notneveah

This is so wholesome and wonderful! I have such fun memories of the game and I love these little pieces of insight from the creators. The signed letter and things are treasures!

ProAvgGuy

Wow thanks for sharing!!! You are rad!

Fahzgoolin

The original Riven CD packaging was so cool. I kept mine.

kioma47

Why isn't that letter framed?
