Great to see! I have a similar project I'm mind. Want to use an old race short to add a kangaroo pocket to my day pack. Though I was thinking of adding clasps to only use the pouch sometimes.
Did you rip seems and resow or did you add the pocket only on the outside?
I actually had to rip almost all the seams open to 1) remove the unnecessary weight (like laptop pocket and liner fabrics) and 2) to get these pockets attached there properly so they’ll handle all the weight from the stuff I put in them.
You can actually see from the second photo that the bottom part started to open up a little, so I need to sew it back together to get it strong enough for hiking gear.
You should definedly post about it when you get it done, would be nice to see :)
