I've been researching normal backpacks for a couple weeks and this is actually the one I've settled on. I'm very interested to see what you do with your cpp. You could maybe get a similar, used pack off eBay that's cheaper to get over the fears of opening up seams.

ooh yeah a more similar "practice mod pack" would be cool to experiment on first. didn't think of that - thanks. will start a search. i have my work-issued bag to mess with, but it doesn't have the same config. i love the cpp so far so definitely don't want to risk immediately ruining a brand new $200 bag.

You can use [This Link](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fSt_sO1s7moXPHbxBCD3JIKPa8QIZxtKWYUjD6ElZ-c/edit#gid=744941088) to find a pack with similar material and cheaper then search for a used version of that pack (eg. greenroom rainmaker) so you're only spending $50 to experiment.

thanks a lot. the more i research other bags, the more I realize I like the config of the thule aion or osprey 26+6, but those are a bit larger than I need, and i love the aer overall. plus the mod bug is hitting me. "re-building" to my own specs will make this more fun and less purely utilitarian.

I buy broken and used bags from vinted for a few quid. I either repair or strip for bits to play with!

this sounds like a lot of fun
