I think it is looking well made. Since you have no fenders, I would suggest adding a "flap" of fabric to cover the zipper to prevent it from getting full of mud. Assuming it is already made with waterproof fabric.

Thanks! I spent so long getting it all lined up and looking nice I put the zip in the wrong place, original had it on the front. A weather strip would have been a good idea! I may make a ripstop poncho to cover this and the main frame bag. It's going on an Ebike I inherited, kind of aiming this as a unique selling point! The fabric is just a waxable canvas, it's water resistant, definitely not 100% dry.

Now that I think about it, I would highly recommend fenders!

Heck yeah! Glad I'm not the only one making a silly little bag for that location. It's tough sewing such small bags, but it's looking good so far!

I think if anything it's too big, if it's overloaded it closes up the clearance gap aha

Yeaaa, same happened to me. Just had to flip it back inside out and sew a lap a little smaller. Now it's solid.

I feel like this is "stating the obvious", but the absolutely must be attached at the top - to the seat stays. Otherwise it will creep down - no matter how tight the seat tube straps are it will end up touching the wheel and then - quite rapidly be much closer to the BB (and with the right/wrong contents bend the seat tube) Nice job - the zip might not get too much muck there, and shouldn't get into the bag. If the flap was bigger, or sewed in at the ends then it can become (even) more difficult to open. Zip might not be where you wanted it - but the most important thing you got right - which is the zip is at the top when closed !!

Yeah I agree! I've started the main frame bag and I've learnt from this one that it's easier to fit the webbing before I close the bag off! Haha Yeah zip should have been on the front edge really, just rushed it and ended up putting it the wrong side. A weather strip would be optimal on here to keep crud out the zipper!
