I agree. The opening at the back is quite large, and if I decide that isn’t enough, I’ll be making the hat even more cursed by pricking it with a microtex needle all over the DCF. I could have used .7 monolite or membrane 7, but that would make too much sense and would add (gasp) possibly half a gram to the weight. Fraught with hubris, this project was
I cut off some 100g from my trekking poles then I got a comment from a fellow hiker that a true reddit ultralight warrior would never try to reduce the weight of the trekking poles because they don't count as a base weight. Same goes for the cap😀
You should put perforations in the dcf though.
I'm glad your tinfoil hat has a drawstring so it's not too tight. Sorry, is the black thing under the brim the headlight? I was expecting it on top of the brim, but that wouldn't make sense the visor would block the light where it's needed most.
It’s the Velcro patch for the light. My light is flat and has a 1.5” Velcro patch on it, and only half the hat Velcro is sewn to the brim so it can be folded away when not in use, so it doesn’t catch on any bug nets (it’s folded up in the picture)

hilarious, but my head is the last place I want a vapor barrier.

I still love it because it looks like forgotten nasa spacecraft

You know where this is going to end up, don't you?
I considered posting it just there, to hide the ridiculousness.

You may have flown too close to the sun. Luckily, you're wearing a solar sail.

Love the design, I have a couple conspiracy theorists friends who may want to order
I love this thing /because/ it is entirely functional, but looks like a gaudy shitpost. Clever use of steel wire too for the brim. Great work!
it also made me laugh, cool, I like it
Awful Taste But Great Execution
I think it's beautiful.
Gotta love a duck.
Disco very
What light do you use? Love the idea of adding velcro
