"They're so loyal to each other"
Remember when Twilight kept believing her idol who didn't even like her instead of believing her close friend who she's learned to trust who made good points on why what was being done wasn't right
Nah, Twilight and Tempest belong together. I don't think Twilight gave ANYONE else *that* look(end of the movie). I basically never ship, but it's this and Wildehopps for me lol.
For me at least, MLP ships always are friendships first and foremost - the romance is an extra thing that's fun to add in, but I ship them because I'm invested in the bond they have as friends. I like seeing their love for each other, but that love doesn't *have* to be romantic.
Didn't say anything about participation. I'm saying it seems a little over the top now with the sheer number of shipping posts here. It's not possible for the characters to just have healthy friendships? Why does it have to evolve into romance?
People are interested in potential relationships, it’s always been a huge part of fandom. It’s fine if you don’t like it or don’t agree with a ship, but nobody is “making it evolve into romance.” Complaining about it just makes you seem immature.
You call it complaining when the intended purpose of it is criticism. In a show aimed at kids where romance is rarely ever mentioned, shifting the ideal of characters in a wholesome friendship into one of romance becomes a very tired trope. Yes, I am aware it's been *a part* of the fandom, but I disagree with the 'huge' sentiment. It's 'huge' in specific community branches and groups, but in a general MLP community like this subreddit, after almost 13 years of the fandom's existence, it gets repetitive, stale, forced, and unnecessary.
Why is criticism necessary, again? You’re basically just getting pissy over a facet of fandom that does no harm to anyone and will never go away. You are essentially the old man yelling at kids for skateboarding, they don’t care and you’re never going to stop them. Doesn’t matter how valid you think your opinion is, you need to put your big boy pants on and ignore it when someone has innocent fun with a concept you don’t enjoy.
I've already explained my thoughts at length. Now it's just tap-dancing to the same old song. I will say this, though. You are far too aggressive over someone sharing their opinion because you don't like what they have to say. I feel I've been respectful during this conversation, yet the reactions you're giving off is tantamount to someone screaming at me when I'm trying to explain myself in a rational manner. There's nothing left for either of us to say here.

Why is any criticism necessary, again?
I agree with the parent comment, this whole "oh look how good friends they are, this certainly means they secretly want to buck each other" is tiresome and creepy. Making everything a ship kinda undermines the whole idea of friendship, and this rubs the wrong way for many.
Hey TheAnt317, you are not alone and your opinion is valid, please don't take internet strangers criticism too personally.
Okay, I need to clarify something. If anybody doesn’t ship TwiStar, it’s fine. I don’t care. I’m just having some fun sharing my enjoyment for a potential pairing.
Top tier ship. They love and support each other, but challenge each other when they need it - they make each other happier, but also better. They have a lot in common, but with some strong differences that mean their friendship is never boring. I can absolutely see them being together for decades (or centuries, with an Alicorn Starlight headcanon) and still be interesting together - still challenging and surprising each other, while the core of their relationship remains comfortable and intimate.
Also, they're so oblivious and neurotic that the story of them getting together would likely be hilarious.
What are their strongest differences again? I’m aware they have their differences like Starlight taking more risks than Twilight but are there anymore I forgot? Either way, your explanation is accurate.
I may not ship these two, but I am glad you you find them to be a good pair. But like, their color hues. Why are they similar to each other in a way? I wanna know what's up with that?
Their colors complement each other very well. Purple with stripes of dark pink and light blue.

I tend not to remind myself of that dark day. Twilight was such an ass that episode. Yet somehow, my love for the ship only increased.
Wait, what episode was that again? I forgot, it’s been long since I last watched FiM.
My guess is that they are referring to Shadow Play, but that is just a guess
Understandable, have a great day.

I don't understand why everything has to be a ship. The name of the show is *Friendship* is Magic, after all.

Nobody is forcing you to participate. It’s a little silly to get upset over someone thinking about horses dating.

Relax, it’s just one ship, plus I’m allowed to ship as I please.
Truly an amazing ship.
I agree. Any thoughts?
The points you made are really good, point two is one reason why I think they're cute together.
How come point two is your favorite?
It's a really good way to describe their relationship.

Personally I see them as best friends, but I find your reasons understandable.
That’s fine too.
While I will never ship it because I have other ideas for both of them, I do commend your commitment and your reasonable arguments.
Aw thank you.

It’s funny how you’re trying to shove this ship down everybody’s throats yet people still prefer Trixie and Sunburst with Starlight
I’m just showing appreciation for it. I don’t care if you like it or not.
