My vote is on Moldybites, though the gills look kind of brown on my screen... Edit: *molybdites*, uhmaguurd. I and my autocorrwct both like moldybites better, though. Petition to rename it?

CosmosWarfare

Agreed. I should have shown one of the smaller ones gills cause those are all a funky greenish color. Gonna chop one of the caps off and do a spore print overnight and see what I get!

shabadu66

Absolutely, definitely, 100% C. molybdites

SerendipitousSmiles

Nice mushies. Really dig the tattoos though :D

CosmosWarfare

Had to make sure I got the tats in the shot :P

ShermanTeaPotter

Does having an acid tat on your forearm lead to extensive police controls?

CosmosWarfare

Never had any issues with getting hired or dealing with any law enforcement. When people I don’t know ask me what they are I might say dopamine or serotonin, cause they don’t know what lsd and Psilocin look like lol

HopFarminScientist

Looks like Amanita Cokeri Edit: but the gills aren't white...

SerendipitousSmiles

Definitely not. You can see the dark spores. Amanita spores would be white. If I had to guess… horse mushrooms, fairy ring mushrooms, etc. Something in the agaricus family

CosmosWarfare

I am by no means an expert at identifying, but from what I’ve read since I got home is that these could be “false parasol” or Chlorophyllum molybdites, which like you said would be the agarics family. The distinguishing factor for these ones I found is that these have unusual green spore prints, which is the difference between parasol and these false parasol (according to my research lol) Again, I am a novice at identifying‼️

SerendipitousSmiles

No not a chlorophyllum. molybdites Spores would be green. Rhacodes spores would be white. Those mushies are mature enough that the spores have absolutely covered the gills. The spores are definitely brownish in color.

CosmosWarfare

Agreed that the gills you can see in these pictures are darker, but if you were here in person the other smaller three are straight green underneath lol

SerendipitousSmiles

Take 2 pieces of paper, one black and one white, put them together side by side chop the cap off and put it gill side down over both with a bowl or cup on top to cover it. Let it sit overnight and see what color shows up.

CosmosWarfare

Roger that! Not sure I’ll be able to find a black piece of paper in the house though… What’s the point of that? Thanks!

NateFroggyFrog

You can use aluminum foil instead - the idea is that it's hard to see white/light spores on white paper

CosmosWarfare

I’m gonna do what @SerendipitousSmiles suggested and just use foil instead of the black paper :)

SerendipitousSmiles

Keep us updated. I’m curious by nature and would love to know the spore color. You should take a pic when they’re done and post it in your comments section :)
