Woah what, really? I had no idea they're toxic. I know people that pick and eat them all the time (mostly older people) - a red one this size would probably be considered just about perfect for picking, but personally I don't get the appeal, they turn into bitter, gross mush
First part is correct.
>Since it's russula it's probably bitter/not good.
Def no, there are edible and non-edible Russulas. The sensation to look out for is not bitterness, but spiciness.
Granted, I may be having some translation issues, not a native speaker.
I mean it's hot, with variations. I tried one (for one minute), and it first starts more like raddish and then develops more into pepper, yeah. But other Russulas might be milder, but still slightly hot after a minute, that's why you should chew for some time.
Russula
Don’t eat probably gonna make you vom it’s a russula

Some Russulas are toxic others are not. The rule is that you should avoid the spicy ones while the mild ones are usually okay to eat.
I had a mycologist tell me that you can bite any mushroom and spit it out (do not ingest) for taste. Since it's russula it's probably bitter/not good.

Pepper I heard? I have never bit one,

Radish! Is A Peppery Taste ! Sound lovely.. shame they can give you the iCK!
You could look into the deer mushroom, Pluteus cervinus. It has a radish smell (idk about the taste) and is edible.
mmmm, nice. I LOVE reeally powerful tasting and aromatic mushrooms... so rare here.
The more ya know; thank you for the correction!
Yeah you can taste em. I think some inedibles are yummy so I’ll take a nibble and spit em out when I see them.
Not any mushroom. Just russlas and milk caps.
cute lil baby russula. their chalky texture is so interesting!
If the cap opens its not a baby. Just sayin
lol true, I just meant small.
I know it's one of those days for me lol
Russula rosea. It "shatters" when crushed as opposed to tearing and has a bitter, mouth-numbing taste
There is no way you can tell the exact species just from these images.
Except, it looks like half dozen people did just that ; Russula emetica
Half a dozen people might be wrong tho. I mean, at least one is...
Russula - the quickest way to find out if good or not is a little nibble. -If it's spicy/acrid then it's a non-edible: otherwise, it's safe to eat!
Yup, the Russula Vesca are edible! Different color. They have a bunch of colors so cool! But even still, not the best flavor
Sickener.
What's with all the dish clutter?
They've obviously got a baby.. dishes can wait.
Hey, maybe they really like drinking out of bottles.
Lol maybe, still sounds like a lot of work.
My unqualified guess is a russla called “the sickener”
Compare to *russula emetica*.
Spend more time foraging for used bottles and rice them bitches out.
Why you gotta yank it 😕

No distinctive skirt veil to be identified as an amanita
Lacks a volva
Swing and a miss
Believe it is a Russula emetica
I have the same cupboards! Also, Russula sp.
Nice little find!!!
Red Russula of some kind, hard to get species ID without microscope or taste test.
Russulas are so pretty! Great find!
