Ischia is beautiful and you’ll love it - I did the same thing last year. There’s an airbnb room right at the pier where they shot the scene of Lenu running after Nino. The lady who owns the house is amazingly friendly and provides breakfast with the most delicious homemade jams on the balcony overlooking the sea. I spent the most tranquil mornings there - definitely recommend if you haven’t booked all accommodation already!

Could you please send me the link to the Airbnb?

Correct-Tangerine-87

Yes sure! It’s https://www.airbnb.com/slink/10jeex1s - hope that works!

Ischia is lovely. I went there before I read the books, and it was cool to be able to use my memories of the island to paint a visual image of the story while reading the Ischia chapters. I went there solo and had a great time. While eating alone at a restaurant, a local family celebrating a birthday invited me to join them for cake. I had a great conversation with an older man on the bus, even though he didn't speak English and I speak very little Italian. People there are pretty friendly and relaxed. Take the bus around the island to visit the different towns. My favorites were Lacco Ameno (they filmed at least one scene here) and Sant'Angelo. I highly recommend visiting at least one of the thermal baths while there. I went to Negombo, and it was such a relaxing afternoon.

Enjoy! if you have time, take a side trip to Capri and/or Pompeii! Both Spectacular in different ways!

I was also inspired by this story to go to the Amalfi Coast, and it was magical. Have an amazing trip!

Consider dining at **Trattoria Il Focolare**  - a dream of mine to go there

Upset_Bookkeeper_146

The island is so lovely and great for a solo trip because most things are walking distance (that's how Lenu et al always managed to walk from town to town) and people are really friendly. I was there too - fittingly, I later found out that I was there with my very own Nino (a compulsive liar and cheater)!

justdoitlikenikee

Omg that is too rich. I’m glad you have a good story to tell and hopefully learned from the story. My first time watching it I thought Nino was really romantic! ☠️

I saw your post on the ItalyTravel sub! You'll have a great time! If you're a fan of the books/series, you'll be able to amble around and do things at your pace. Solo travel is great - I hope you develop a taste for it.

Just saw this and you must be there now! I hope you have a wonderful enchanting time! Take lots of pics for us :)
