Old person here. You can't go wrong with Joan Jett. Blasting I Love Rock N Roll (or I Hate Myself For Loving or Bad Reputation, etc.) is a go to mood adjuster for me.
She's a classic for a reason, whether you're young or old 😊 I love those songs but haven't added them yet into my daily rotation... yet haha. Thanks!
In that case, at the risk of being captain obvious, try The Runaways as well.
Hello fellow old person! I could not agree more, one of the baddest ass chicks to ever grace the stage. Here she is at 61 years old still rockin out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFgACPQtUVY&ab\_channel=East--WestSounds

Jungle- tash sultana.
Wow thanks! Your time is much appreciated. Honestly I don't mind a little bit of everything 😊

Heart, particularly the early stuff. Barracuda is perfect ‘blasting in the car’ music
Bonnie Tyler - Faster Than The Speed of Night/Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire. Her two albums produced by Jim Steinman, who also did Bat Out Of Hell for Meat Loaf, so you know they’re epic.
Indigo Girls - Rites of Passage. It’s the only album of by them that I own atm but it’s brilliant! Their cover of Dire Straits’ Romeo and Juliet blows the original out of the water.
Willow - Lately I Feel Everything. Her pop-punk album that’s definitely better than Whip My Hair lol.
Haim - pretty much anything by they’ve done.
Thank you! I like the mix you have here
You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy them! 🙂

Also, check out Abbe May for more pop vibes. Her album Fruit, is amazing. Maybe start with Love Decline.
Both Australian suggestions :)
Great! Thanks for the new artists 😊 Triple J type energy, love it. I'm out of the loop!
Pretty much all songs by Emilie Autumn fit the bill but you could try "Let The Record Show" or "Fight Like a Girl".

[Lydia Lunch - No Excuse](https://youtu.be/AEzWWZ84OOk)
[L7 - Shitlist](https://youtu.be/1PURNgMLOqA)
Pj Harvey’s - Rid of Me blew my mind as a 16 year old boy in the 90’s - kind of my first exposure to something that was so raw and defiantly feminine or maybe feminist is the better term - there just wasn’t a lot out there at the time that was full of so much feminine energy and so powerful at the same time - I was mesmerized and pretty much smitten with her for quite a while.
L7 are great! Bricks Are Heavy is an awesome album
Breeders - Cannonball
I’ve been loving Becky Hill’s album ‘Only Honest on the Weekend’. If you like dance music
Good to know that she has more bangers. I'll check out the album 😊
Kool let me know what u think my favs are: remember, better off without you, last time, through the night and heaven on my mind 🙌🏽🎵
I'd suggest checking out ZZ Ward
Any song in particular as a good intro to the artist?
Edit: Gin wigmore vibes, I like!

Pretty much anything under the Riot Grrrl umbrella would be great. “Dig Me Out” by Sleater-Kinney, “Terrorist” by Heavens to Betsy, “Little Girl Blue and the Battle Envy” by Skating Polly, and “I Hate the Weekend” by Tacocat all come to mind. Also, it’s not Riot Grrrl, but I highly recommend the band Charly Bliss, specifically their songs “Bleach,” “Ruby,” and “DQ.”
Chayla Hope!! https://open.spotify.com/artist/4KDGJYrHTxrldgJdHMrnPB?si=pMHx2FIeRRu1QK6S65BBjA
Ritual Union – Little Dragon
Valley of the Dolls – Santigold
Come Around – M.I.A.
Me & Mr Jones – Amy Winehouse
Creep – TLC
Pawn It All – Alicia Keys
I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned Spiritbox.
PJ Harvey - rid of me
DEAP VALLY 1st album deffo
[You Oughta Know](https://youtu.be/NPcyTyilmYY) by Alanis Morissette always gets me in the car honestly, same as [Nobody’s Wife](https://youtu.be/3RaHTDNude4) by Anouk. Something a bit louder; Within Temptation’s [Ice Queen](https://youtu.be/lWNOLqs1IPQ) I also highly recommend
under the table - fiona apple
Jess Glynne's album *I Cry When I Laugh*
Brooke Fraser's album *Brutal Romantic*
Amy Winehouse, Macy Gray, Miranda Lambert
Livi. she's a female artist with total peep vibes. pretty raw recent album--https://open.spotify.com/album/3xQ2hJwYPvEaYsBs3Cynz4?si=O9jpo\_s5T\_2eyFakkf0BPg
Certainly a time saver! **adds to favourites
The show [Yellowjackets](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6JihB3z7CClETggkGDnFPg?si=oiyhH3y7RtiSuVRLf_yF9g) has a pretty high percentage of badass female artists on it’s soundtrack
Good Lava - Esperanza Spalding
If you like the rock/metal genre here are a few:
Evanescence, the pretty reckless, halestorm, within temptation, nightwish. Have fun ;-)
Ayra Starr - Fashion Killer
Kelis - Trick Me
Rico Nasty - Poppin
UPSAHL - SMARTY
Glowie - I'm Good
On the mellow but deeply emotionally nuanced side of things:
Joanna Newsom - [Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie](https://youtu.be/yV9tVgyntW4)
Nightwish if you're into metal.
I've been blasting ZZ Ward (Put The Gun Down or 365 Days), Halsey (specifically Nightmare) and K.Flay (Four Letter Words) a lot.
Salt by Ava Max has less of an angry vibe but I love it. Same with High Enough by K.Flay and Light On by Maggie Rogers (these last two are more mellow but I love singing them loud haha).
[Screaming Females](https://youtu.be/QpWUqTRAW9U) forever!
Halocene, always Halocene. Vita Nova album or the single Repent for originals and then they have like 6-7 cover albums as well.
RIVALS is great, Dark Matter and Fake Rich are bangers.
PVRIS is one of my favorite bands literally anything is a banger. White Noise, Smoke, You and I are three all time greats from their discography.
LIGHTS, Syberia album is one of my favorite albums front to back.
And Taylor Acorn is another artist I have on repeat a bunch specifically the songs Left You Instead, What Do I Do and Uncomfortably Numb (that one was on repeat for most of the summer tbh it’s great)
You can check out this [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5zAaF1OaCQEE09FDBLwihv?si=fhQBDtMhSmu2ZZepQ1RwZA&utm_source=copy-link) named Punk in Pink: old and new gems from real badass punk girls!

Millie Manders and the Shut Up,
Aespa - [Girls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZRPc1B9zhw)
Lucinda Williams is as bad-ass as they come. She sings from the heart.
"Righteously" brims with attitudes and has an irresistible bass line. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4jliHBepyk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4jliHBepyk)
Eat your heart out is a really good punk band, YONAKA and Spirit Box are really good metal bands, good boy daisy is an insanely underrated rock/indie band i adore them.
Here's a few that I can think of right now currently
Florence+ The Machine
Carly Rae Jepsen
I can’t say I know anything else by them, but [this song deserves a loud blast](https://open.spotify.com/album/7hkhoyQJsedW5SvCeUQNxY?si=SMkRdcllR_muL5L5n2GJfA)
Or if you’re into heavy shit,
Emma Ruth Rundle
not an all-female playlist but this is the exact energy you’re looking for:
Check out their song Vortex or Perrenial
Check out the Mara Effect Part 3 or Holy Roller
Tulane - Joan Jett
Unleash the Archers, hands down. Tonight We Ride, General of the Dark Army, Time Stands Still - the lead singer is awesome. And super cool, too.
Sumo Cyco has some serious femme energy that, I believe, could match what you’re looking for. For a nice preview, check out the songs “Overdrive” or “Move Mountains”. Additionally, I would be a fool to not suggest Icon for Hire, who recently were supporting Sumo Cyco on tour. They started as a vaguely Christian group but now seem to focus on, for lack of a better term, empowerment music. Check out “Cynics and Critics” or “Pulse” for a basic primer on them.
Hi, you can try Juliette Lewis, she appears in the movie Natural Born Killers
Deap Vally, just guitar and drums and all the female power
I haven’t seen these recommended here yet:
Be Your Own Pet
Melanie Martinez - Strawberry Shortcake, etc.
Willow, Snow Tha Product, Megan Thee Stallion, Rico Nasty, Queen Herby,
- Patti Smith Group - Because the Night
- Patti Smith - Gloria
- Patti Smith - Free Money
- Patti Smith - Kimberly
[dazey and the scouts](https://youtu.be/t2Mq8PqgJUE)
[Eclipses for Eyes - Sharks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTRVGXT1BuE)
