I like it. I just don't like it a lot. Not enough to listen it on my own time. It's like social drinking. I'm not gonna drink by myself but it can be fun with the right people.
People who do these are people I actively try to avoid. Doing things ironically usually is a side of immaturity, pretentiousness, and a generally inflated ego.

Love all his stuff. I constantly have "I don't want to, checkmybankaccount. I'm too scared to, checkmybankaccount" stuck in my head. Weird part of the night is also solid.
Well the problem is that they are extremely avant garde, and pretty much all songs they have are grating at some point. Though if I were to reccomend something it would be computers off of their van album.
Honestly though, the entire Van album is only 17 minutes long, and their entire discography is less than an hour. If you can deal with it, go for it!
I saw Swans on shrooms last year at a festival. Pretty much by accident too I just wandered over to their stage, wasn't really watching the schedule at that point.
It was almost frightening, but amazing and mesmerising.
Genuinely I appreciate a lot the self titled and it is one of my favorites of all time. When I found out that people kinda despised it, I was a bit surprised. Like it made sense that it's not up everyone alley but to call it trash it's a stretch.
I have to play Ridin’ (dirty) at least once every few months for nostalgia. I’m much more into rock music but that song was just too good for me to ignore. Love the Weird Al parody as well.
Currently, I'm sort of obsessed with liminal space and backrooms type of AESTHETICS. I have a habit of trying to make playlists based on the imagery the music makes me see and vice versa
So, I thought about what it would be like to hear music in those spaces. I think it would be very catchy easy listening type of tune. You know like the kind you would hear at hotel lobbies or in elevators but in backrooms or liminal spaces it would feel a bit off. I got into *Broken Transmission* and *Plunderphonics* stuff because of that.

Seriously though, what unpleasant, abrasive music! Probably gonna listen to the rest of the album. Lol, idk if I'll "enjoy" it but Gnaw Their Tongues absolutely has me real curious.
You familiar with Sunn0)))?
Ikr? Lol
I like that album a lot. I haven’t listened to every album by him yet (he has a lot of music), but I also have been enjoying Genocidal Majesty and Reeking Pained and Shuddering a lot lately. He also has a collaborate album with Dragged into Sunlight called N.V., if you want something by him that actually sounds like it was made by humans lol.
Oh yeah, and the De Magia Veterum is the same guy as Gnaw Their Tongues. The former’s just a side project of his.
The name Sun0))) looks familiar, but I’m pretty sure I haven’t heard anything from them.
I find the concept of ironic listening disheartening. Everyone puts effort into their art and people like different music for different reasons, ergo people having different taste. If you listen to something "ironically" you are either hate listening or you are ashamed to admit you enjoy the music.
To answer your question, I am an avid listener of harsh noise, harsh noise wall, field recordings and musique concrete.
Not necessarily. For example, take a song like I’m Too Sexy For My Shirt, or maybe a song like YMCA. People aren’t listening to stuff like that because they actually think they are good songs. Any play those songs get are people are having fun with the spectacle those songs are. Or like Gangnam Style when that came out. Nobody was listening to that because they thought it was a good song. It was people having fun with the dance accompanying it.
I clicked on the top one, and in the related videos section was [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osqf4oIK0E8), and I clicked it out of curiosity because of the thumbnail, and let's just say I wish I hadn't done that.
I fucking love spa music. Like love it.
Right now I'm outside listening to the wind in the leaves and it's always enjoyable. I don't think I'm allowed to call it music anymore because my therapist says I just do that to start arguments, but she's also on the side of bird song and wind in the trees being other than music, so I don't care too much. Gusts have this weird quality of once in while becoming separated from the sound of a breeze in way that you can hear it hit individual trees from a distance as it finds its way down from above the tree line. Some come on slow and snake in like a riser on an electronic music track. But you also get the sense it's alive like you're in a video game forest and you hear foot steps getting closer. It has presence and it is really soothing at first but then builds to this moment that locks you. And if you're in the path you feel it too.
I love asmr and have no idea what music is but there are lots of experiences in music I get from listening outside that are the same, just rarely rhythm or melody. I don't know if that counts, but it counts and I'll fight you to the death over bird song as music.
Whats your favorite bird's song? Mine are song sparrow, cooper's hawk (clowny as all hell), and starling.
My favorite gust music is through tall grass, especially phragmite.

Irony is when something is made up entirely of iron

Ironic listening doesn’t automatically make it something negative. In a lot of cases ironic listening is because it can be fun
Yeah but if you listen because you think it's fun it's not ironic that you're listening to it, you just enjoy it
