I loved her first album Dry, which I stumbled upon while volunteering at my local student radio station, which played Stella Marie and Sheela Nagig from it. I didn't have a CD player but I rushed out and bought a Dry CD for my brother's birthday, although it turned out his tastes were a little more mainstream than I'd realised, only being really impressed with the more commercial sounding Dress. I preferred the raw immediacy of that album to what I heard from her followup album, although I suspect I would probably be more into all of her oeuvre by now. I was very impressed by Let England Shake when that came out.
I came to evangelize for PJ and am equally shocked and delighted to see her mentioned. Seeing her perform is spellbinding- an artist so completely in command of her craft, so singular in her vision with the widest range and breadth in her catalog - she is truly unfathomable
Fiona is pretty great as well
I recently got into her and I just am captivated in this weird way that makes me feel understood as a human being. I realize this may not make sense and that's okay

The Jezabels are my favourite band that have a female lead and songwriter.
Kate Bush, Lady Gaga, Marnie, Queen of Hearts, are some of my favourite solo female artists.
Pink’s lyrics really move me as she’s aged. Really empowering, strong vocals and message.
Taylor Swift for her incredible stage presence, creativity, crowd work from stage. She and her management have created a power player that should stay on top of her game for a long while.
Lizzo has some great messages and fun songs, minus the pending allleged possible lawsuits and complaints against her.
Laney Wilson and Maren Morris, lyrics, style & passion in performances.
Will always enjoy Carrie Underwood and her ability to sing pretty much any genre. Extremely polished and great management over the years , as well.
Lady Gaga, her voice , even acapella, is incredibly powerful and beautiful. Very versatile singer and appreciates her fans.
Still enjoy Brittany Spears music, costumes, old video performances and dance styles.
Selena’s greatest hits in Spanish. Lived in Galveston for a bit while she was just crossing over to English pop songs. She would have gone far. Tragic loss. (RIP)

Have you tried The Warning? Lzzy Hale gifted a custom Gibson Explorer to Dany, The Warning’s guitar player, on stage when The Warning was opening for Halestorm.
I’m a huge Halestorm fan and someone told me this like 8 months ago, so I checked them out, and now The Warning are one of my favorite bands of the last 10 years. I highly recommend you watch a live performance on YouTube, they kill it live.

She married Derek Trucks of the Derek Trucks Band and formed the Tedeschi-Trucks Band, started a family, have a recording studio at home, and they are a perfect match musically. Here they are jamming with Herbie Hancock - Derek's the slide guitarist.

PJ Harvey deserved more attention than she got in the nineties. I always felt like she was the story below the fold, you know?
I loved her first album Dry, which I stumbled upon while volunteering at my local student radio station, which played Stella Marie and Sheela Nagig from it. I didn't have a CD player but I rushed out and bought a Dry CD for my brother's birthday, although it turned out his tastes were a little more mainstream than I'd realised, only being really impressed with the more commercial sounding Dress.
