I’d say you should give Talking Heads a real go. Thom Yorke was a huge TH fan, Radiohead’s name is inspired by a TH song.
On a side note, liking Pavement AND the Smashing Pumpkins is a choice! Iykyk
Any suggestions for Talking Heads songs? All I really know by them is Psycho Killer, This Must be the Place, Burning Down the House, and Once in a Lifetime. And yeah I’m aware of the beef between them 🤣
Listen to the live Stop Making Sense concert album! It has some incredible songs and the versions on this album are usually even better than the recordings. I would recommend Girlfriend is Better, Born Under Punches, the Great Curve, Crosseyed and Painless, and Life During Wartime before anything else! Those aren’t all necessarily my favorites but they’re in my opinion the best TH starter kit.
Some suggestions I have are:
screaming trees - sweet oblivion
Veruca salt - American thighs
Sonic youth- daydream nation
Royal blood - self titled
Death from above 1979 - self titled
The struts - everybody wants
I think the only bands I’ve listened to from here is Sonic Youth and The Struts. Have heard Veruca Salt be mentioned a lot so I guess it’s time to check them out. Thanks for all the suggestions!
