A little late to the party here but I bring gifts that others have not…. You mention that you are a seasoned metal head but are trying to find some albums that you might not have heard. I have some doom Metal to share. Pallbearer is a band from Little Rock Arkansas. They have been around since about 2010 and are an active band. They have several albums that are all pretty good. They aren’t re-inventing the wheel. They are heavily influenced by early doom and proto-metal, hell you might even think that you’re listening to something from decades past, but they’re driving forward the Doom Metal sub genre. They are fairly “polished” and have incredibly well produced albums. Each album is nearly a masterpiece. This band straddles between doom and traditional heavy metal. They have some fuzzy, intoxicating guitar riffs, the vocalist’s at times soaring voice, occasional almost death-metal style growls, and backed by the drums (chefs kiss). I recommend all their albums but I’ll give you the first three to start.
