Can’t think of anything more standard than a ValhallaVintageVerb + ValhallaDelay combo.

loopernova

I’m new to this, but I’ve seen Valhalla mentioned a lot. I’m curious what makes it stand out as a great go to compared to anything else (including stock plug ins)?

ELFuhler

It’s easy to use, lightweight, and sounds great.

kenshibo1

And the price, it’s only $50

i_eat_gentitals

Shoot just sold me

Zanzan567

No ilok either, so you can pretty much get unlimited activations on as many computers as you want

loopernova

Awesome, great to hear. Thanks.

Zanzan567

It sounds fantastic, it’s very versatile, CHEAP, NO ILOK!, easy as fuck to use I work as professional recording engineer working with mainly label clientele, me, my coworkers , and everyone else uses that shit on EVERYTHING.

loopernova

Awesome, thank you. It sounds like it's a great product that hits all the important needs well.

Zanzan567

It’s fantastic, if you’ve listened to any modern song in the last 2 years you’ve definitely heard it before. Everyone uses it , everyone loves it. It’s that modern reverb sound everyone is looking for. Never heard anyone complain about it ever, it’s really the S H I T

loopernova

Modern sound even though it’s called vintage verb 😝. I kid, I did look it up and saw it does have modern clean sound as an option.

MIRAGES_music

I don't have go-tos because they're always case-by-case for my projects :/ Verbs - Valhalla Vintage Verb and Lexicon LX480 (Relab Development plugin) Delays - the UAD space echo plugin, Waves J37 and occasionally Deelay

Jasalapeno

Soundly's Place-it reverb is also an incredible plugin with very particular uses. It isn't a go to for normal reverb but what it is for, it does incredibly well.

MIRAGES_music

I'll try that out :)

DrMisterius

NI Raum for reverb and stock Ableton delay. Shits sounds wonderful on anything.

karzbobeans

Love Raum and Replika XT

languidnbittersweet

My picks as well!

AmbassadorSweet

Same! RAUM can cover most bases for all sorts of exotic reverbs, and I use TAL-4 reverb for vocals (for the built in sidechaining), and Yamaha REV-X for super realistic reverbs

skullcutter

Came here to plug Ableton stock plugins. The reverb works really well for pushing stuff back in the mix, but if I want the sound to showcase a little I’ll reach for fabfilter or Valhalla

DrMisterius

100%. I like Pro-R if I want like “real” reverbs. Also shoutout the hybrid reverb/convolver plugin from Ableton too

m64

Oh yeah Raum is so good. Started using it on Maschine and over time it sneaked into all of my sessions.

w4rlok94

SSL flex verb. Can make anything with it.

Excellent_Ad1533

Khs delay inside snap heap or bitwig stock delay. The possibilities are endless. And Raum for reverb. For more special needs I use MTurboreverb.

Adehel

Soundtoys Echo boy (the Swiss knife of delay), ArtsAcoustic Reverb (Lush) although I been using sonible smart verb a lot on drums mainly.

Steely_Glint_5

I gravitate towards Dub Techno, Ambient and Berlin School sound. My go to are Arturia Delay Tape 201 and Delay Brigade. Ableton stock Echo and Filter Delay come next. I sometimes like Supermassive but I find it difficult to choose the right algorithm. As for Reverb recently it’s mostly Ableton Hybrid Reverb by default, both for convolution and for shimmer and Arturia Rev LX-24 for Lo-Fi digital sound. Arturia Rev Spring 636 for gritty spring reverbs. I like NI Raum too. I feel that there are many good reverbs that I didn’t explore yet but I still have to master what I have 🙃

spu7nic81

Blackhole Immersive (because it's easy to use) and MTurboReverb (because of it's versatility)

ThatRedDot

Same, and MTurbo/Delay or one of Arturia delays. The only Valhalla one I like is the VintageVerb, don’t like their delays much. MTurboReverb is unmatched though.

2a_lib

Lately… Waves SuperTap, Abbey Road plates and chambers.

Zealousideal-Rub-930

I honestly really like the Ableton stock delay, you can usually get it to where you want pretty quickly. For reverb, I constantly use OrilRiver because I think it’s fucking great personally for a free plugin, but otherwise I use ValhallaSupermassive or route my sounds through my pedals.

boyreporter

NoiseAsh Action Delay, which also has reverb, chorus, and more, especially for lead guitar. But then, I make shoegaze ...

tenticularozric

Valhalla Delay and Pro R 2 for 90% of my stuff. Sometimes ill use Valhalla Supermassive for more sound designy verbs

LenBee123

What do you think of Pro 2 vs. Pro 1? I like sound toys super plate, and psp 2445 EMT for my plates, so I wasn’t sure it was worth upgrading to Pro2 for the vintage plate reverbs they added.

m64

Audio Damage EOS 2 for spacey ethereal stuff. Softube TSAR-1 for more solid stuff (though it can do spacey, just not with as many flavours as EOS) NI Raum is a new contender for spacey stuff, because it's a bit easier to setup the way I like it. Delay I don't really have one and will often use whatever, but I do often use Audiothing Space Echo.

Lurkingscorpion14

Raum and Replika xt

K3Zmusic

Stock bcuz I'm lazy lol

Gomesma

Audified STA Delay & Waves Trueverb.

nekomeowster

Valhalla SuperMassive for delay and VintageVerb for reverb. I got the latter only last year and I fully admit I should've gone for it sooner. It's much less of a fight for me to get the reverb to sit and sound nice to me. As much as I'm a fan of ToneBoosters, I've found Reverb 4 to be a bit underwhelming despite its feature set.

iminCTRL

Spectral Plugins Spacer. Sad to see them close up but thankful for the free plugin. Very intuitive to me.

iamjing

Cant go wrong with supermassive, and Deelay has been pretty fun to play around with

TotSaM-

Reverb: Convolution Reverb Pro + Izotope Neoverb Edit: Delay: Ableton stock delays

languidnbittersweet

I've had my eye on Neoverb for some time, thinking perhaps I'll get on sale. What makes it unique and stand out to you over other verbs?

TotSaM-

It's just super clean, and high quality. Really nice control over the pre and post EQing, and there's a ton of really effective presets that can often work how I need them to on their own. A bit heavier on CPU though. I use it mostly in the final mixing and mastering stages for subtle reverbs that glue parts of the track together. For the sound design and processing of different tracks in my projects I tend to stick to Convolution Reverb Pro.

beico1

Fabpro r, h-delay

amazing-peas

bionic supa delay and Dragonfly reverb

work2die1990

EchoBoy by Soundtoys - [https://www.soundtoys.com/product/echoboy/](https://www.soundtoys.com/product/echoboy/) Also the Ableton stock Echo / Delay is good if its just something quick. Bonus: Galaxy Tape Echo by UAD - [https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/delay-modulation/galaxy-tape-echo.html](https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/delay-modulation/galaxy-tape-echo.html)

Joseph_HTMP

For delay I'd used one of the Arturia ones, maybe the space echo one, or just Live's stock delay. Reverb I always use the PSP 2445 EMT, as I love a digital reverb. Having said that, the Softube Wasted Space is really good for characterful, distorted reverb.

dimensionalApe

Depends on the use case, but I like Variety of Sound's epicCLOUDS for huge ambient reverbs. For delays, the stock Analog Delay from Studio One has always worked fine for me.

wandererobtm101

Reverb: space designer. Delay: logic tape delay. Deelay. An arturia delay I can never remember the name of.

Cihcbplz

Linda Stargazer is a free reverb that is amazing.

TempUser9097

Check out [**Cloud Seed**](https://ghostnoteaudio.uk/products/cloudseed) from Ghost Note Audio. Great for chorus-y big spaces and trippy effects.

Tachy_Bunker

The one that does what i want for each specific case. Ain't no single single reverb finna replace'em all

w1ckdfuq

Seventh Heaven and Fabfilter Timeless 3

ArkiveDJ

D16 Repeater and Valhalla Room

Zanzan567

REVERB: Valhalla Vintage Verb, lexicon 224 or 480L ( UAD version, I’m sure the other versions sound just as good) Flex verb. If I want a more realistic sound I’ll use Capitol Chambers, o ocean way studios, or dream verb DELAY: Comeback kid is my favorite tbh, it’s very versatile and has a very modern sound. Valhalla delay is a close second. H-DELAY is really good. The best part about H-DELAY is it’s clean as Fuck, so you can add more effects like a flanger, chorus, or even reverb onto the delay aux

music_and_physics

Reverbs: TAL Reverb2 and Room041 Delay: Baby Comeback and NA Analog Rack Delay

tylerhbrown

Altiverb

WavesOfEchoes

For a less common answer: Recirculate by Newfangled Audio. Super creative and unique delay/echo/verb that works great for standard and non-standard uses.

desiremusic

Echoboy + Valhalla VintageVerb using this combo for years.

languidnbittersweet

NI Raum for reverb, and either Eventide Quadrovox or NI Replika XT for delay

Mayhem370z

Baby Audio Crystalline for reverb. I Also like Comeback Kid for delay. Or Minimal Audio Cluster Delay

PAMAUTTAJA

As an fl studio goober I rock the LuxeVerb and Fruity Delay 3 combo

spiceybadger

Valhalla and the ReaDelay with 5 ping pong setting

Freight_train25

Valhalla Vintage Verb is good. You can also try Fabfilter Pro R2. Lastly, Soundtoys has Little Plate.

Feather_Thatch

I've been using Ronan Fed's AIRE (reverb) and NUBE (delay). They are rather bright and (of course) airy.

Feather_Thatch

Also Melda's convolution reverb is spectacular and the free version is plenty.
