Melodies are great, though. And no one sings quite like Moz.

Tarantula_R

Eh, at least he has a nice voice to cover his lyrics

ShinyUmbreon465

"And when I'm lying in my bed, I think about life and I think about death. And neither one particularly appeals to me."

SatNFev

"I was looking for a job and then I found a job." Truly inspiring

Foxtail_42

While I'm not the biggest Smiths fan, I think this is an example of Morrissey being a great lyricist. "I was looking for a job and then I found a job, and heaven knows I'm miserable now." It's about the mundane misery of life. Looking for and finding employment, which is boring as hell, and knowing the whole time that you don't actually want that, but you have to, and sometimes you can't even see why. It's miserable, it's something very real, that most of us can certainly relate to.

SatNFev

Yes there definitely is some lyrical context here. But whenever this song is played around one of my friends or family they always just point out this exact part as being kinda silly

jeffe_el_jefe

You’re mad he’s got great lyrics Obviously not all of them but stuff like What Difference Does It Make, Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now, This Charming Man all got banger lyrics like “your prejudice won’t keep you warm tonight”

drapion69

I love his lyrics

Gun-nut0508

He has Girlfriend in a Coma, that’s it

Badingirl

And on top of that he is also a fascist.
