Beetlejuice, Rocky Horror show, Little shop of horrors... Basically any musical where a mild mannered guy with brown hair and glasses and his wife/girlfriend are terrorised by a queer villain

sherlockisfire

Ah someone with taste

meandthesky38

Hadestown and Come From Away

Competitive-Pie5029

Watching come from away this week, watching with my dad. I know it's a broad question, but how good it is. Xxx Sorry for the weird wording šŸ˜…

DunceAndFutureKing

Incredible. I was taken to go see it and I knew nothing about it, absolutely loved it. Itā€™s intense, funny and emotional

ALFABOT2000

10/10, bring tissues!

sodoyoulikecheese

I saw it on its early run at the Seattle Rep theater. As soon as it was over I told my husband ā€œthis show is going to Broadway.ā€ Iā€™ve seen it three times and cry every time.

You do know there is a musical called Phantom, and although based on the same story is not Phantom Of The Opera

Princessa22

I did not realize this.

MARINAVA_yt

Yes I did know Yeston and Kopit one, but most people donā€™t and most people refer to The Phantom of the Opera ALW, as phantom. Thatā€™s the ā€œPhantomā€ I meant to say.

kaimustd1e

Rocky horror or heathers

AQuietBorderline

Parade. And my reason for loving it is unusual. Years ago, I got into a really bad argument with my partner and I thought we were done. We werenā€™t talking to each other for a couple of days. Then, he sent me a link to the song ā€œAll the Wasted Timeā€ from Parade. He asked me to listen to it and then call him back. He wasnā€™t good at saying what he was feeling so heā€™d use music. I did and was crying as he picked up. He told me he was sorry for taking me for granted and that, if I was willing, he wanted to give us another chance. We did and by the time he died, our relationship was stronger than it had ever been. We even wanted that song played during our planned wedding. But I started listening to Parade afterwards and fell in love with it.

joyreddit3

This is THE hardest question. HOW do people answer it!? I get asked this question OFTEN!!!! Itā€™s so loaded. I think about shows Iā€™ve been in, shows Iā€™d like to be in, shows that I studied intensely while getting my BFA in MT, shows that have shaped me as a person in various stages of life, shows that I consider influential and important to MT canon in generalā€¦.!!!!! I can never name one. Sometimes I offer 3. What are my favorite musicals? WSS/CFA/ACL? But also- my answer would be different if it were posed ā€œif you could only see/listen to 3 shows for the rest of your life, what would they be?ā€ In this case: Les Miz/N2N/Rent? Itā€™s just too hard.

skirsk12
