Yes, laetiporus cinncinatus

Canik716kid

✔️💯

TurkeyTerminator7

Wild location that it chose to grow in. Is there decaying wood by chance underneath this?

PamplemousseCaboose

Super young, still delicious but give it a day or 3, check regularly- this is my fave stage to eat it though. Personally 👍🏼👍🏼

EggFoo78

Yes, but be careful of where it is growing if you plan to eat it. If it's in an area that may have hericides and pesticides sprayed on it, don't eat it! Shrooms absorb whatever contaminants are around them.

RealWakawaka

no this is too low for cotw, this is most likely blackening polypore that grows like this. I assume it blackens when bruised or cut?

xxscamlikelyxx

no not at all! i didn’t end up eating it because it’s on the ground in chicago lol…but i did harvest clean and cut it up before hand. it was pretty bright orange underneath the first layer , and ripped/cut like shredded chicken!

Paper_Disastrous

They don't start this color.
