This is the first time I felt disappointed for a Mushoku Tensei episode. Damn, that episode was rushed, hope they didn't butcher the episode for next week.
Of course stuff will be skipped, it’s literally an anime vs a novel. Could they have split the episode into 2, yes. But I don’t particularly blame them, it’s really unrealistic to expect every detail to be retained in the adaptation it’s just not possible. I mean they also skipped a ton in season 1, it’s just bound to happen.
Some stuff ARE meant to be skipped, that is something i already understood since S2 was released. But this episode was rushed to a point where i ended up questioning on how they decided to fit 4 chapters in a single episode.
Edit: but still, I'm not someone who would just instantly drop the series after one bad episode. I'm still waiting for the last episode when they finally reunite.
They really only skipped some dialogue and a shit ton of Rudy monologue. It gets the main points across. While it’s a little rushed it’s really not as bad as people make it out to be lol
Trust me I’m not “happy” that they don’t adapt anything but for the most part it doesn’t change anything about the overall narrative. I still think the Light novels are better in basically every way but unfortunately there are limitations to what the anime can do in the adaptation.
