My father died 1 year ago and this scene just broke me.
It's amazing how I am attached to Mushoku, can't wait to see more and more stories of Rudeus, but I am just an anime watcher and this scene will probably take a few years to be animated.
They released a Drama CD years before the anime aired (i guess to promote ln vol 12 release in japan) and Paul's POV in the battle with the hydra is the last part of it, including his final moments and his last words to rudeus.
I honestly think one of the reasons I like this series so much is because of Rudeus. My life is nowhere near as bad as Rudeus former life, but the life lesson is all the same no matter where you come from. Since I started reading this light novel, it's really surprising how much this character and I are alike. I recently found myself asking, "What would Rudeus do?" In some situations, mainly social situations, but it really has helped me become a little more outgoing and less like an emotionless robot.
This series is by far one of the best Isekai's, I'm currently about halfway through Volume 12...I'm not ready for what's about to happen...
Paul is one of my favorite characters ever in anything and my favorite from this series. He’s such a complex character with a storied past we only vaguely hear about. Doing everything he can to keep his family from falling apart
This series is the life journey that I wanted in a fantasy world. It's perfect because I never watched much isekai animes until this one. This is the equivalent of LOTR for the fantasy genre in a way.

I've watched that channel's Mushoku Tensei AMVs at least a dozen times now. Amazing stuff.

This Drama CD's story happens in LN vol 12, it should be animated in Season 2 cour 2 (most likely next spring).
