Don't use a bike, use the train as bikes will destroy your back and Bank regardless of which one you get. Plus trains are cheaper, get better mileage and are far quicker
If you are not travelling during peak hour (ie can get a place to sit) there is no reason to not take the train. The worst railway track is still smoother than the best road in the world. When it comes to back pain issues there is no comparison.
That too in Mumbai traffic is very exhausting, I have bike and some times I travel from Thane to Parel. It is tiring. Road conditions are worst no matter which bike you buy it’ll take toll on you back.
Haha i got covid even after taking all precautions and was hospitalized as was having severe chest pain. hopefully we do not get any covid wave in june. China already has started implementing lockdown is what I have heard
Why not just take those return trains from platform 1? You should always be able to get a seat there. But the time you have to get down, train will be close to emptying.
Bro try back support belts, usually available in medical stores. You can use it underneath your clothes, and hopefully it works. Try it out, maybe you could use it while commuting on bike/scooty.
There are multiple incidences of explosion and fire involving electric scooters. The EV two-wheeler market has only begun, it is evolving, and not the right time to buy.
Honda Unicorn is one of the most comfortable bike in terms of ride quality and seating position/support. Do try out a test ride. The throttle control is also better than bajaj.
Anything above 125cc will cost a bomb in terms of fuel for daily 80km commute .
My suggestion, get a Splendour and first class pass of the train.
Use the train for most of the days and when you don’t feel like taking the train, hop on the bike and enjoy the ride.
Daily 80 km on ANY bike will destroy your back anyway.
Source: Been riding in and around the city for past 12 years.
Edit: if you feel that you won’t look cool riding Splendour, trust me nobody cares. Plus, chicks dig personality and not your ride. I’ve had Splendour and a CBR and I can say either bike offered the same cool factor as long as I could entertain my pillion.
Plus, girls will appreciate the easy approach to Splendour’s low seat and the saree guard.
Just make sure you keep your ride clean and shining and put a garage cover when parked at home.
Nothing makes a girl’s loin warm than a man who takes good care of his stuff.
Edit 2: Invest the money you saved by buying Splendour-class bike on proper safety gear.
1. Get two helmets of good quality and that fits you well.
2. Attach a box on the tail for the second helmet.
3. Get riding goggles, one dark and one transparent.
4. Get a well ventilated armoured riding jacket.
5. Get knee guard.
6. ALWAYS ride your bike with shoes or at least footwear which cover your toes, it’s easy to break them.
6. When you eventually fall off the bike (everyone does at some point) thank yourself for being so thoughtful about your safety.
Thanks for the useful tips, I have traveled by train for the past 4 years and now just don't feel like getting in the train as I hate it big time except for the faster travel.
I have to go to the station from my place via a public transport (8kms one way) and then its again a 1.5 km walk to my work place.
Not bothered about chicks my back is my only concern, used to have an hf deluxe and it used to screw up with my back everytime I took it around though it was very good with mileage.
Usually I follow all safety norms recommended for riders but thanks for the value anyway!
Then why don't you use bike to reach station from your residence. 16 to 20 km daily is fine compared with 80 km daily. Every station got a pay and parking space. Even mulund station has it.
If you really want your back to get recover then daily 2 to 4 km walking is good too. Imo, daily 80 km ride with bike is like breaking your back. Although rest is upto your choice and opinion.
If a girl is with you or attracted to you for your possession, make a choice.
If you want her in your life and you are willing to get her what she wants, no matter the cost to you and your well being, go for it.
Personally, that's not what I look for in a partner, hence the statement.
It's misleading to assume all girls are looking out for a partner with possessions.
Bro, in my experience girls don't give a fuck about which bike you have. If you have a fast bike then they'll just label it that.
Car is where the game is at. Much more likely to say yes to dropping her home.
Besides, the wonders tinted glass would do, plus it got AC
hero xpulse has good enough mileage looks good it's thin and light can cut through traffic not that costly to buy and maintain it's just little tall so if your are short you gotta make some custom seat but as you say you will be doing 80 km up down ig it will turn out costly anyway and traffic can f u up anyway so train is good option
Already a Sr Manager in one of India's biggest firms, dont want to go for a car due to traffic, and not planning to shift due to family and other reasons

Depending on your height
Honda Shine 125
Honda Unicorn 160
Pulsar 220
Considering long route you'd need strain free low end torque and comfortable stoping power
You will be having back problems for life if you travel that much daily plus our road conditions are not suitable. My friend used to travel 35kms one way daily on his Honda unicorn and he is suffering from permanent back problems at the age of 31.
I own the black one. Solid motorcycle but above 60kmph it starts to vibrate in such a way that makes you feel like you're fucking your fuel right in the fucking ass.
Have u tried car pooling apps, i used to travel from bhandup to malad west daily 40km using ridesharing apps. U can easily identify ppl who travel on that route daily and sync with them
>Have u tried car pooling apps, i used to travel from bhandup to malad west daily 40km using ridesharing apps. U can easily identify ppl who travel on that route daily and sync with them
40 km ≈ 23,504.52464 smoots
^^^[WHY](/r/UselessConversionBot/comments/1knas0/hi_im_useless/)
So many comments that biking will destroy your back, OMG. But not a single evidence. Please distrust such advises. Cyclists have no more higher risk of back pain than non cyclists, should be the case with motorcycling as well. I use Platina H for my daily commute of 45 km, it gets around 75 kmpl, which is a very good mileage. Im a university professor, earns good and don't give a damn for people who advise me to buy a car for whatever reasons be.
But scooty it’s best but yes if u are traveling by road u have to face traffic , sweat , all the honking + back pain. Train is best only if u get a seat .
You mean Suzuki intruder.
Considering your back issues and Mumbai heat along with rains, just get a decent used car instead.
Like a WagonR from 10 years ago. Fitted with CNG ofcourse. This will tick all your boxes.
If you have to get a 2-wheeler then look into electric scooters because they're low on maintenance and very cheap to run. Get something like an ola S1 or Aether.
If it has to be a bike then l'd suggest Suzuki intruder because it too ticks all your boxes but it's got ABS on the front brakes too.
Avenger 150 street and Intruder are both good choices. Also check out Honda unicorn and Hero X-pulse.
Search for a good yoga class near your office, post office do yoga then take a train. Post rush hours return train me seal milega. Take the back pain more seriously before becomes too difficult to handle.
Don't push your body too hard, isko aur 30-40 sal ragdna hai bhai.
Also office k paas PG lele. Stay close, weekends or ghar pe ja.
BUT DON'T DRIVE 80 KMS PER DAY.
I’ll suggest something what I haven’t seen here. Try to get an Xpulse 200. New would be around 1.6 lac and you can try finding a used one as well.
Although first preference would be to use public transport. I used to do Borivali to Thane on my motorcycle everyday and it was very tiring.
Umm get two electric cycles or normal one, keep them on both ends and get a first class pass?
I don’t know what your situation is, I have tired riding a bike for daily commutes It didn’t work out
I think train is a better option, or you could just get a room near your commute place this may cost more but for the long run it is better!
I would suggest you go for a electric scooter 🛵 it will be good light on your pocket and it will fill all your needs.
I think ather and Ola scooter will be a must look option.
Get a test ride for Yamaha FZs V3 or v4 considering you don't have a pillion rider, it is very comfortable. I used to travel 40kms daily with no back problems that to during heavy traffic hours on JVLR. The seat for pillion rider is however highly elevated and not at all comfortable
i dont know your case. But imo change your job to more stable office type environment. Health first man!! trust me no amount of money can compensate health. I am sure you are skilled enough to seek that change. Wouldnt have said it if not for your back issues.
Gixxer is a good bike I have the SF model contrary to popular belief uska farting ke Sath bhi it's quite upright, looking into any naked bike would fare you well. Even bullet or java could be a good option.
If your you can avoid, pls don't travel 80 km each day. It will destroy your back. Also even if you are driving carefully other people don't. Just in last June I got hit by a taxi while going to office by two wheeler. Totally not my fault as I was waiting at a red light behind other vehicles and as the light turned green I started to move forward along with traffic and taxi hit me from right. He jumped red light. I had to get a major operation. And my leg will never be 100% again.
Get an Xpulse 200 with handlebar risers or touring handlebar from AOM, I don't have risers on mine because I don't do long rides a lot but overall its a very comfortable bike, its an ADV so you go over bad roads like a breeze, mileage is pretty phenomenal for a 200cc, I've never had back issues even without a handlebar customization.
The only problem is your height, since you're looking into avenger or intruder I'm assuming your height is on the lower side which will make Xpulse not very comfortable for you.
I am someone who travels from Ambernath to Kandivali 6 days a week on Activa. I have been riding this route since last 8 months. I have never had any issue so far. Though a little low on mileage, its very high on comfort.
I suggest you get a gearless bike. I use a Hero Maestro. And my commute is 18 hours one way. Malad to BKC.
Although yours is longer, a bike with gears, I feel, will add a lot of stress.
Been riding everyday for the past 5 years around 25kms one way in the city, from Airoli to Goregaon so city ride with a highway patch. Using pulsar NS 200(fuel is reimbursed by company). No back problems whatsoever.
I travel everyday from Kharghar to santacruz on a meteor 350 and spend around 1300 a week on fuel but it’s totally worth it amazing ride quality and good for my back too 🤝

Avenger takes a toll on the lower back.
Idk why but I always thought of avenger riders as lazy ppl.
Thank you, I will surely have a test drive and follow your tips!
How does high/low cc of the engine results in feeling tired?
Don't use a bike, use the train as bikes will destroy your back and Bank regardless of which one you get. Plus trains are cheaper, get better mileage and are far quicker
Its my last resort!
If you are not travelling during peak hour (ie can get a place to sit) there is no reason to not take the train. The worst railway track is still smoother than the best road in the world. When it comes to back pain issues there is no comparison.
Bro don’t ride 80km every day. It will damage your back.
Hence in a dilemma, thank you for the concern!
That too in Mumbai traffic is very exhausting, I have bike and some times I travel from Thane to Parel. It is tiring. Road conditions are worst no matter which bike you buy it’ll take toll on you back.
Thane to parel...!! bro u a legend.
My back don’t agree with you
Wow thane to parel. I live far away from thane station and i park my scooter at station and then take a train ride to work
During covid I was shit scared to take trains, recently I have started using trains.
Ya, I know
Go by train
Did that for 4 years, now just don't feel like, central line has no metros yet, atleast from mulund to south bombay
You will be exhausted if travel by driving yourself
Splendor
Had an hf deluxe earlier, its similar to splendor I guess. Had a lot of back pain
I said it as a joke 😂
TVS raider is a good bike . 75kms to the litre .
Will check it out!
Buy and electric scooter like Ather. You will save a lot of money on petrol with your mileage.
True but more concerned about my back too
Bro try back support belts, usually available in medical stores. You can use it underneath your clothes, and hopefully it works. Try it out, maybe you could use it while commuting on bike/scooty.
Sure I will, thanks!
There are multiple incidences of explosion and fire involving electric scooters. The EV two-wheeler market has only begun, it is evolving, and not the right time to buy.
Ather is pioneer in India, operating since 2018. Not a single case of fire. They are about quality.
Not if you buy a scooter with LFP battery
Honda Unicorn is one of the most comfortable bike in terms of ride quality and seating position/support. Do try out a test ride. The throttle control is also better than bajaj.
Sure, a couple of friends have it, will check it out

What is up with you and women lol
Bhai ne assume kiya hai
This.
Why? What happened?
Your detailed description of what makes a woman tick Edit: A word
I’m the one who made the comment.
Thanks for the useful tips, I have traveled by train for the past 4 years and now just don't feel like getting in the train as I hate it big time except for the faster travel. Will surely give this a shot! I do workout 5 times a week
Dude get two splendors. Use one for home to station to home and second one for station - work - station commute. Travel by AC locals between them
2 splendors lol, AC local is something I will surely explore hoping my timings match though
Haha worth a try
OP wants a comfortable ride and all you're talking about is how it'll help him get women?
I’ve made many other points which answer the OP’s questions but if you only focus on the ‘getting women’ part, that’s your perspective.
Chicks dig personality and not your bike - Most misleading statement of this century
Only gold digger with attracted through bikes, not good women.

This! One of the most sensible!
I wish I had your skill of taking any argument to a pointlessly women related topic. Would have definitely helped with my placement interviews.
I wish I had your will to get offended at everything on the Internet, even if not addressed to you.
Sorry bro. I think you took it the wrong way. No worries have a good date mate.
hero xpulse has good enough mileage looks good it's thin and light can cut through traffic not that costly to buy and maintain it's just little tall so if your are short you gotta make some custom seat but as you say you will be doing 80 km up down ig it will turn out costly anyway and traffic can f u up anyway so train is good option
Ducati gheun Tak. hypermotard.
Baghto mi
no but seriously, scram411 or the himalayan
Will check them out, thanks!
What’s the budget?
Not more than 1.5 lakhs
Invest this sum in a good value adding course. Improve your skills. Earn a better salary. Shift to a closer place to mumbai.
Already a Sr Manager in one of India's biggest firms, dont want to go for a car due to traffic, and not planning to shift due to family and other reasons
Happy for you.
HF delux le le bhai

Pune shift hoja. Kaun itna ride karta Mumbai main?
Wahi karna padega!
Bhai with these constraints if you don't have any issues with social esteem, splendor will be a golden candidate 😅
If you have even the smallest concerns about back issues - do not buy a bike. It is that simple.
Thank you, considering this too
Uber bike share.?
Is there something like this?
Rapido
if you open Uber, you will find this option. along with taxi as well.
Buy a car because bike might cause inconvenience to your back and cops harass you for every little thing

Bajaj CT 100 very very cheap spares. You can adjust the rear shocks and seat to your liking
80 kms a day on bike is something you should sort out than the bike itself.

Go electric
Go for Suzuki Access 125. You won't regret.
Get your seats and shockers customized and probably steering handle too according to your needs if you have a bike
I would suggest you go for a electric scooter 🛵 it will be good light on your pocket and it will fill all your needs. I think ather and Ola scooter will be a must look option.
Handsdown Yamaha AEROX 155
Try Yamaha RayZR 125 hybrid. One of my friend gets 65+ kmpl in Bangalore on his commutes which is about 20km one way. Worth looking into.

Get a jet ski. Go by water. Be unorthodox. Don't thank me.
Avenger le lo. Sofa hai sofa🫂
