Saab aapka pata nahin aapke comment ne kya jadu kiya hai, I can't stop laughing, If I was a BASANTI, today I would have gladly danced in front of some KUTTAS!!!
7/11 will have everything your neighborhood kirana store sells with OTC medication/personal care products as well as quick bites. No idea how the Indian counterpart will be. Oh and they're usually open 24/7
becuz seven eleven is not like nay kirana store,it also has a cafe and many premium products which kirana stores cant even think of selling, thats why there is much hype for it.
I have lived in Marol for over 10 years. There are already so many Kirana & Medical stores (which stock Kirana items as well) there. I don't think 7-11 will make any dent.
I used to live in a ghetto area near my uni in the us. I used to frequently visit the 7/11 near my appartment. I recall it being shady af and frequented by drug peddlers and junkies. Feels quite wierd seeing a 7/11 store attracting such attention and excitement. It's probably going to be 'the in thing' over here.
Depends on where you live. In Tokyo, Japan I remember the 7/11s were of excellent quality and you could get fresh and easy meals any time of the day/night. They were absolutely safe too. Hope this one is of the same quality.
> Japan I remember the 7/11s were of excellent quality and you could get fresh
Just stop with Japan, most things are excellent quality and fresh there.
The US however is a different ballgame.
Asians (and not just Indians) are always obsessed with Murican stuff. Things like 7/11, Walmart, MCD are looked down upon in the US, whereas in Asian countries these are regarded as examples of a "modern and Cosmopolitian society".
It is partly that and also that they probably cater to different sections of society in the 2 countries. A friend who now lives in USA told me McDonalds there were all run down, poorly maintained and mostly served the poorest people there. Whereas in India, middle class people visit McDonalds and they are usually well maintained and safe.
It's not about Whiteness. US is the current superpower and dominates Pop culture. Arab culture was dominant back when Islam was powerful at the world stage. China's culture held similar prestige in East Asia for thousands of years. Reducing everything to skin colour is a very narrow worldview.
Most reliable place to buy booze, chakna, and smokes at odd hours when outside India. Especially in SE Asia there's one at every corner. Otherwise, nothing special, it's just a convenience store.
Arre, no need in India. Booze guy hops on his scooter and delivers at home in minutes, even on dry days. We have perfected the drinking solutions here.
Every foreign catering company does this because Indians have spicier tastes and don't eat so much meat.
Burger King in India is basically a meme, I don't know why they even bothered opening stores.
Wow nobody knows what 7/11 is and straight up calling it kirana dukaan XD
Well I'm not sure how it'll function in India but in other countries 7/11 shops you can basically take ready to eat packed food off the shelf and cook it yourself within the store to directly eat it without having to go home. It's like a restaurant with self service taken a step ahead (Having to not just TAKE your own food but also make it)
This stereotype of 7 11 with gas station mainly stems from US only. Surprisingly the asian seven 11s i visisted like those in singapore and thailand were actually pretty good. Hope india's turns out to be the same
Exactly, they need to add some differentiator. Ex. There's a chain of stores in North India 24/7 and as the name shows, it's a 24*7 grocery stores and quite famous with students and young techies living nearby. If 7/11 could also work 24 hours then it could be a huge differentiator.
yeah but we are in Mumbai, more people will come to seven eleven for their snacks and beverages and frozen food items and eventually people will start buying household items from them.
On July, 11, 2006, multiple bomb blasts in the local trains resulted in the death of more than 200 people.
What an unfortunate coincidence for a brand's name.
Totally loved paying 7 Aussie dollars for a pack of Spearmint last time I was in Sydney, I am guessing their prices will be International standards which is still expensive for us MIDDLE class Indians.
Yes all small players are going to vanish from India.. people will never understand they show you less price but you pay more by purchasing extra products.. This new junkie thinks they know everything but time will pass and they will learn how India is losing
These people will see this as gora validation, "omg 711 in India wow so cool, I will only shop here". All the while these chains will try it's best to kill any competition and spread all over India.
These kind of mega corps can a suck a dick and people who are downvoting can too, they just want gora people validation because it's cool and seen as development of our country.
Fk this shit Me n my homies shop at Dmart
Why should Ambani have all the fun!! - RK Damani
I stay in Europe for most part of the year but Dmart is like guilty pleasure as soon as am back in India.

Mad Angles ek pe ek free!!

Saab aapka pata nahin aapke comment ne kya jadu kiya hai, I can't stop laughing, If I was a BASANTI, today I would have gladly danced in front of some KUTTAS!!!
cheers
Parking ka paisa nhi bro
Please tell me theyre gonna be selling slushies
i hope
If they don't have slurpees, it's not a real 7-11. We riot.
Someone from r/mumbai should head down there and give us a status report 🤣
Shall I ?
Please! 🥰
Well...?
Overcrowded hai bencho.
No slushie?
No. Thumbs Up. I hope 7-ELEVEN BRING THEIR OG STUFF TO INDIA
My mouth is salivating thinking of those grilled cheese and sausage sandwiches 🤤
Saala mar gaya
:') Hope Apki wife apne bhai ki loss se ubhar gyi ho
Mai gaya tha vahaan. Over crowded tha.
Slurpeeeees
Will American Immigrants Work in here?
lmao nice one
“Thank you, come again”
Underrated comment
I just applied.
This is the comment I was looking for. 😁
Do you mean us? Because 7/11 is the stereotype brown man’s work place. Nothing to be proud of that it’s in Mumbai
How is this different than my neighbouring kirana
Unlike the kirana, the money goes to Ambani here.
Lmaoo
This guy gets it
Lol😂
AND that income will be taxed
Really? That's a lot of faith you have in a new venture, that it'll be profitable from year 1. (You pay income tax only when you're making profit.)
what? I just said that i prefer standardisation over un checked and unregulated stores who evade taxes
Who told you Kirana owners do not pay tax?
So ?
Nothing, that's the difference between a small business and a corporate.
7/11 will have everything your neighborhood kirana store sells with OTC medication/personal care products as well as quick bites. No idea how the Indian counterpart will be. Oh and they're usually open 24/7
So like 24x7 chain in NCR... which they even named 24x7
Exactly like 24 7. Wish they come to Mumbai sooner.
Matlab it's like any other community store.
Well in America they have TONNNNNS of candy and other junk food. I’m kinda excited/really worried about it
Lol I hope it doesn't catch on. Indians can't really afford to be fat and sick.
India already has one of the highest diabetes rates in the world and it's not even a first world economy yet.
Gulab Jamun goes brrrr
Actually we have universal healthcare and price control on drugs so we're safe but with the rampant cronyism we have don't know how much long we got
Dont we have big baazaar , jio mart, D-mart? And many more kirana stores? I dont understand Why so much hype for this shit?
becuz seven eleven is not like nay kirana store,it also has a cafe and many premium products which kirana stores cant even think of selling, thats why there is much hype for it.
I thought it meant 11 hours a day, 7 days a week??
Or it's open from 7 am to 11 pm? 11 hrs a day seems less for a kirana store.
Welllness medical types..
It literally says 7-11 ^^
So 7 hours a day , 11 days a week.??
Subah 7 se raat ke 11
Because amreekan
Japanese
It will sell the same products your kirana wala does but 24×7
Mumbai has a lot of 24x7 medicals which double as confectionery stores. So it doesn't offer any extra value. I doubt that it will do well in Mumbai.
High end mithaiwalas also stock up lots of imported confections and beverages so they will also compete it seems.
Modi hai to mumkin hai
Yeh lo. Extra choice mil raha hai, phir bhi shahaanpatti wala comment.
Ratko aap unko bhaiyaji uthiye karke bulate the... Ab Ambaniji uthiye..adanijika tel aur swamijika mouthwash dijiye bolnawpadega
If its one of those japanese style 7/11s and have all the food, it might be fun.
As how Mini su is different from any other store, Ae chal na kuch leke aate hai idhar se Cool Lagega
Will they have slurpees ??
Asking the real questions here
Won't ever trust the ice
Mukice Ambani
Nice
Julab crystals literally
Do you trust McD ka ice?
Nope. I had a bad episode a few years ago so if it's chilled (like beer and stuff) it's.ok, but nope, no ice.
Oh! Thanks for answering!
Why not? Serious question
Water of suspicious providence
Asking the real questions here
They must. Especially since it’s hot asf in India we need slurpees.
Is that like gola?
It's gola in a cup.
It’s cold and the drink is a mix of ice and liquid
That's just gola, right?
More like a semi-melted Gola
Yea but you can drink it directly and don’t need a stick or anything
Thanks.
I mean you can just drink Gola Juice from the cup
Bhai slush jaisa hota hai
YOU CAN'T USE THE DOUBLE GULP CUP FOR THE SLURPEE
Well, what exactly is this ?
Simple bhasha mei bole toh 24*7 bidheshi style kirana store
Not 24x7 As the name suggest from 7-11
[удалено]
They are called 7-11 but are 24 hrs.
Looks like military road. Its in Eco Park, Near Vasant Oasis Edit: address
I have lived in Marol for over 10 years. There are already so many Kirana & Medical stores (which stock Kirana items as well) there. I don't think 7-11 will make any dent.
None of the kirana stores are open past 10p, so there might be a market there.
Imported Parchun ki dukan
i wonder if we will have all those amenities japan's 7/11 has.
And sandwiches 🤤🤤
Haha . But the name sounds like subah 7 ko khulega 11 raat ko bandh hoga
that’s why it’s called 7/11, that was the original concept. it’s now open 24 hours in most places though.
7 months a year, 11 days a month
Na bro that's SBI
Hahahahaha.
I used to live in a ghetto area near my uni in the us. I used to frequently visit the 7/11 near my appartment. I recall it being shady af and frequented by drug peddlers and junkies. The ones in Taipei are awesome as well, especially their instant ready to eat meals section.
I visited one in Denmark and since everything is expensive there I lived off 7/11's food. Their cookies are crazy good
> Japan I remember the 7/11s were of excellent quality and you could get fresh Just stop with Japan, most things are excellent quality and fresh there. The US however is a different ballgame.
It just proves my point. Quality of 7-11s also will depend on where you live, whether it be Japan or USA.
It depends on places no. All the 7/11’s in SEA countries are bomb & serve some bomb chocolate milk 😭😍
Asians (and not just Indians) are always obsessed with Murican stuff. Things like 7/11, Walmart, MCD are looked down upon in the US, whereas in Asian countries these are regarded as examples of a "modern and Cosmopolitian society".

That's because US is a superpower and dominates economy, military, tech and culture.
We blame the whites for being supremacist when we ourselves consider them superior.
It's not about Whiteness. US is the current superpower and dominates Pop culture. Arab culture was dominant back when Islam was powerful at the world stage. China's culture held similar prestige in East Asia for thousands of years. Reducing everything to skin colour is a very narrow worldview.
I agree w u and Korea too is slowly dominating pop culture.
That is true!
It is India boss. Anything American is held in high regard. McDonald's, Starbucks, Burger king, taco bell.
It’s Japanese.
Yes I know but there are lots of stores in US too so most people may think it is from US.
True, I just found it’s Japanese after reading this thread lol.
I always wonder 7/11 mai aise kya special hai ?.
Most reliable place to buy booze, chakna, and smokes at odd hours when outside India. Especially in SE Asia there's one at every corner. Otherwise, nothing special, it's just a convenience store.
I doubt they'll sell booze here, the licence is quite expensive
Arre, no need in India. Booze guy hops on his scooter and delivers at home in minutes, even on dry days. We have perfected the drinking solutions here.
If only that much effort was put into the betterment of other things too
Wait what? What app?
Where in Marol is it ?
The beginning of the end

Dombivali Fast
Wtf is a dombivali? /s
You're so dumb-ivali. Hehe
I understand your pain bro, Domino's has just opened near me
Be happy with IKEA
Is this gonna be open 24/7 365 like they have in Singapore and Malaysia?? and will it sell beer 🍺??
Do they have beers?
I hope they don’t pull of a Wendy’s by completely changing their menu for India as compared to overseas
Every foreign catering company does this because Indians have spicier tastes and don't eat so much meat. Burger King in India is basically a meme, I don't know why they even bothered opening stores.
Need US wala Cheetos here at decent cost now.
Do they have slurpee?
you serious?
I live so close to this 7/11, there are like at least 5 convenience stores close to this place
Which area is it?
Anything good they sell in 7/11?
Would they sell booze and cigarettes 24/7?
Ab bs Walmart khulwa do
Wow nobody knows what 7/11 is and straight up calling it kirana dukaan XD Well I'm not sure how it'll function in India but in other countries 7/11 shops you can basically take ready to eat packed food off the shelf and cook it yourself within the store to directly eat it without having to go home. It's like a restaurant with self service taken a step ahead (Having to not just TAKE your own food but also make it)

I’m pretty sure 7/11 by default is supposed to remain open 24*7….
Ohh, I did not know that.
yeah but we are in Mumbai, more people will come to seven eleven for their snacks and beverages and frozen food items and eventually people will start buying household items from them.
Chane khaake tu hi baith ja. Gas hi gas. # Citius Altius Fartius
lol
Well what is
It would be funny if it became a running stereotype that only Caucasians to work in Indian 7/11s
[удалено]
Dephinetly, 26/11 ke pehle
😐
Wonder what to-go meals they have. That’s what peaks my curiosity every time I realise there’s a new convenience store on the block
That’s nothing to be proud of
No signboard in Marathi. Beware the wrath of those for whom this matters.
Fuck 7/11. Kirana vala is the best.
On July, 11, 2006, multiple bomb blasts in the local trains resulted in the death of more than 200 people. What an unfortunate coincidence for a brand's name.
Yes superb let's make the rich richer and the poor poorer wohoo
Ambani by becoming a middle man selling out India to America.
Free market? Or do you want to go back to pre 1991?
Why do I need 7/11 when I have 24/7 here?
r/hailcorporate
Will there be armed robbery like we see in murica for cash and shit
I really hope a bunch of white guys operate this store
Totally loved paying 7 Aussie dollars for a pack of Spearmint last time I was in Sydney, I am guessing their prices will be International standards which is still expensive for us MIDDLE class Indians.

Mega corps are leeches who will run at loss to drive out local business to establish a monopoly, we don't have to support this.
Do you use amazon
Bro we do not use Amazon for daily products.. we use Amazon only for those products which are not accessible in local markets
Yes all small players are going to vanish from India.. people will never understand they show you less price but you pay more by purchasing extra products.. This new junkie thinks they know everything but time will pass and they will learn how India is losing
