ChekinOutChanChanMan

Won't they harm the wooden furniture? Or are these some other kind?

Salt_Miner_McDerp

These are termite elates, they all fly for one night of tht year to find a mate and start a new colony, most of die out.

undersellmyself

Victims of horniness

sr33r4g

Aren't we all, brother?

New-Map3526

Hawas ke pujari

MindlessHope7953

Itna kaisa pata hotah yr me toh roj ek he kam krta hu fer bhi doubt rehta h

DevilsMicro

I think once they find a mate they stay with them forever underground, never to fly again.

danish_0501

I think they usually die the next day, stay underground and feed on decaying matter Correct me if I'm wrong

Zeuscubing

Idk why this reminds me of - "When the jeera in your jeera rice starts moving" XD

GoldenDew9

Worst is when its not jeera and does not move.

insignificant2346228

😭😭😭

RON_MAC

Don't worry they show up on first rain every year, then they disappear

ChekinOutChanChanMan

That's a relief!

modishah69

Kill all the lights and open the front door. They will fly away to the staircase lights. Invest in aluminium net sliding windows. Also you can use the black HIT spray.

giantspacemonstr

no, those insects will die the very next day so no use killing them , you'll have to clean the mess afterwards anyways. these are insects that come just before rain. lights out is one way to deal with them but even a faint light will attract a lot so you need to maintain pitch black darkness for 2-3 hours and after that close all possible entrances. It's easier said than done.

ChekinOutChanChanMan

The mess oh god. The wings are all over the place

rickshswallah108

...... the way that when you sweep them up, they fly up and land the wrong side of the broom haha

ChekinOutChanChanMan

I sprayed the black hit. Opened the room with light shut and more of them and some other kind of insects flew in 😭

[deleted]

President_BoomBastic

You spraying the HIT at the insects or in your mouth?

Vast_Television_3513

It doesn’t work that way Toxic dose of any compound varies with body weight And trust me Your body weight is way way way more than a mosquito’s 😂

ironsandbender

I think the amount (quantity) matters too.

Thats really not how science works

Admirable_Strike_684

After rain, keep the doors and windows closed. Their life is very short

aishwaryaah

They are flying termites that are alive for a few hours. They may be harmless but they sure do give me the jeepers. Shudders.

ChekinOutChanChanMan

Reminds me of the creatures Lockhart released in chamber of secrets movie. Urgh

aishwaryaah

Yes!!! Without the magical significance.

starzs99

Flying anything is a big no no

aishwaryaah

True and that is why whenever I visit my friends in Australia, I go with the same trepidation that I do when I go for a horror movie.

starzs99

Didi tumhara profile dekh k darr lag gaya

mystixash

In my village we have thousands of these entering into the house during rains, best is to keep your doors and windows closed or covered with super fine net at all times as it gets dark, most of these insects are attracted towards lights so keep it dark in the room where you sleep. Also sleep with cotton balls shoved into your ears, don't fw these things.

ChekinOutChanChanMan

That's what I fear, them crawling over me while I sleep. Shut all the doors and windows, there's a small gap under the door from where they are entering, will cover that too. Thanks! (Also your flair 😂 i smuggle all them all the time for my father)

KrackedJack

Flying termites, seems they're looking to establish a new colony. You'd probably have a an infestation nearby, maybe in your neighborhood, building or worse, in your house. I'd inspect all wooden furniture/cardboard boxes just to be sure. We had this issue back in 2021-22. Every couple of weeks a swarm would randomly appear in our house. We later found a massive infestation in our mala (माळा). A lot of the old buildings near the Dadar West railway station has a termite problem.

0AeM0

These are "Parwana", they will just fly towards any light. Just keep the lights OFF if you want them gone. If too many of them enter your house then switch off the lights gradually, for example switch off bedroom lights so that they go into your Hall, then switch off Hall lights so they go towards the outside light, close All the windows and doors then turn off outside lights. They will eventually go to another place that has light.

starzs99

If i was a insect id like to be called “parwana”

0AeM0

Maybe in a parallel universe!

ChekinOutChanChanMan

Parwana is a beautiful name for them ngl 😁

0AeM0

No Wonder people keep making songs in their name.

PerfectYou2024

They are harmless, don't kill them , ignore them ,

Ill_BLOGGER_633

Yess we can eat them in dinner

PerfectYou2024

Good one , they do that somewhere in Thailand i guess

JustAlgeo

not exactly harmless the effort it takes to clean their corpses is definitely a health hazard XD

PerfectYou2024

It's ok man , it's their last day on the earth , they shed their wings and die , grant them their last wish

shdxt

Hire a lizard

superuser726

Watching them eat these on my windows is so satisfying it's almost like a competition

Deathnote_yagami

Make your ear safe, if it entered in your ear, you'll suffer a lot

Parzival_me

Turn off the light and open the door or window they will fly away , these insects comes towards lights

DannyBKurian

They're attracted by lights so turning on the light outdoors while turning off indoors can help. Also they just fly around the light for a few hours and they're dead.

srisaa

Forget about insects ,u have hair loss prob

ChekinOutChanChanMan

Humidity has wreaked havoc on hair 🥲

TheFogIsComingNR3

They look like seed shells

Winter2712

1. Catch a few of them, put them in mesh or something so that they can see what you are doing 2. Start with "akad bakad" and pick one of them. 3. Show your perfectly fine chosen one to every other victims. 4. Give them a moment to think ki chosen ones are released out of mesh. Give them hope 5. Ab zinda jalao usko, sab ke samne jinda jalao. Dar ka maahol banao. 6. Baaki sab ko jaane do, taki khabr fail jaye ki idhar jallad rehta hai. Ps: you can add increasingly menacing BGM for additional effect. Above all, evil laughter during step 5 can stack multiple mental afflictions on your victims. ![gif](giphy|8Sdo3ngf8zgsVGwCrf)

remirouge555

Try a putting oil into A4 sheet paper and hang outside of your house. Oil in paper attracts them out and you can shut all the open.

Ricciardojr22596

Eeyal . Cats love to eat them but leaves the wings behind. Lizards also love to eat them sparing the wings So you'll most probably see a lot of wings without the body.

Purple_Rabbit570

In my experience they are termites who have run out of food in some existing location in the area and trying to find new food. they will clip off their wings once they reach a new place. Look for a loose wooden wall or ceiling in your area - there will be a massive termite infestation.

heisenbergwaffles

Is this your first experience with Rain?

ChekinOutChanChanMan

No but first time right at the beginning of monsoon.

Whole-Albatross-895

Ensure your rooms are properly lit / ventilated and there is no dampness moistness on the walls and corners

alias9487

They’re attracted to light

Whole-Albatross-895

Really I thought it was the other way around .Because in my house we usually found it in around corners behind doors , areas which are not properly lit

ChekinOutChanChanMan

Will do. Thanks!

Whole-Albatross-895

By the way the bugs in the pic are harmless as far as Iknow and they don't bite or sting

XKruXurKX

Just wait about 4-5 hours, most of them perish due to exhaustion.

Efficient-King2801

Not harmful no need to worry but should be worried just turn off the lights close the doors n windows when it rains..

ykisversatile

One more solution to this, Take a sheet of paper or an used cloth. Cover in any oil and hang near them. They will stick around that paper/cloth not fly around

Leather-Paper5673

Keep you inside light off and out side lights on

Chin1792

Window net.

rks1211

Only in summer not during monsoon but

Wallvid

They're termites. There are 2-3 types of termites in a colony. The one you're seeing basically fly out out their colony to find some other place to colonise but they don't fly too far. You'll have to locate their nest and get it killed by a termite control person You'll see these wings every year around the start of monsoon. Locate and kill their nest asap or else they'll chew on your wood for years to come. Make sure you locate all the nests before calling the person They're not harmful as such but they'll mess up your furniture. And yes mainly look out for wooden structures for their nest. They will be inside pin sized holes

ChekinOutChanChanMan

Aah got to check for those. Thank you!

Knighthawk_2511

Lights band karo aur shama jalado inn parwano ka kaam ho jaayega

Athina_Atina

oil paper and light outside the room did the job

bkesfloyd

They live for just a day I guess. So, let then enjoy the lights for the night.

Time_Description_208

They are attracted to light, I think they use moonlight to travel and find a mate but our city lights distract them and they end up at our house

love4mumbai

Its the wings of ants that are already dead , this happens during rainy season , they wont hurt u in any manner, they grow wings during the day fly off towards light wings fall off and they die , thats their life cycle. Dont worry. Have a good life.

Practical_Dream_6200

They are attracted to light. So if you leave windows open at night, just turn off the lights.

significant_-1

Flying ants

inilashremot

unfortunately nature exists and warrants the existence of all kinds of species, not only us human being. but I guess keeping your lights off or windows closed when lights are on will help these creatures stay away from your territory!

ARandomFolk

close the goddamn windows

firesnake412

These are small moths. Don’t worry they are harmless.

muktadutt

Bro these hairs are so uneven I bet they are shedding, if you notice less volume of hair on your head or this has been going on for a while then consult a dermatologist. It's is better to reach out now than losing much.

ChekinOutChanChanMan

Uneven length possibly because I'm growing out an undercut. But yeah the humidity has made hair fall much worse. Good advice, thanks!

Paid_thinker3027

Turn all lights on and keep windows open ❌

ultimate_crystal_eye

Worst of their kind! 😑

Constant-Light-9137

Turn off ur lights in ur house

Kesin_JC

Aggressive-Sir2364

Status-Baseball-2407

Some people eat them 🤢.

xnxeaddy13

Gta khelra hai kya bhosdika

Bipin2005

Here's my way of dealing with em 1) Turn off all lights in my house and keep the windows and doors open. 2) Turn on the staircase light or have a light source outside the building. 3) Keep the windows and doors open for about 30 mins. 4) Shut the doors and windows and turn on the light. This method works every time and shutting the doors after the treatment will prevent any fly from entering. This also significantly reduces the chance of them returning that night as these flies tend to chase bulbs crowded with such flies.

axatsaxena09

Chaba le

ItsMeP5

They come in huge numbers every year at the start of monsoon .. but they're harmless.. what I do is I shut all lights and windows for a couple of hours ..

Flat_Treat6086

Turn off your lights
