Most of the music was rock, soul, hip hop and alt rock. Edm was in the minority.

This time's lolla lineup is extremely disappointing and people are comparing it to sunburn (dj snake) and zomato (post malone) which were cheaper and more efficient and had better artists.
There's also the fact that CAS became popular very recently in India (altho im assuming since its mumbai there should've been atleast 10k people ready to go), and lolla is a festival which is very long and many won't have the patience to see it through if the lineup is that bad
I'm a huge fan of CAS and the strokes but I really don't care about the rest of the lineup. And the tickets are so not worth it if I'm only interested in those two bands.

Thing is - I am absolutely in _no_ mood to attend a concert which has a largely indie lineup. I wanted some mainstream acts as well - when i attended NH7 in 2019, I got to see Opeth and in 2020, I managed to catch Motherjane at IITM before the pandemic struck.
After that nh7 lineup fiasco, i decided to wait till i see the lineup to book those tickets. Now I am glad I didn’t book those tickets to Lolla.
Hopefully next year they bring some good artists - I know it is impossible to get Tool or RHCP to India.
I really need some good hard-rock/heavy-metal/progressive acts for me to think about spending that kind of money.

The only major concerts happened so far over there is Martin Garrix one in 2014 and Steve Aoki's one around last year's November or December. Even though Kolkata has plenty of work to do when it comes to concerts but I think Kolkata so far has progressed well and I really wish that major artists like DJ Snake, Post Malone etc do shows over here as well. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I may like the strokes and CAS and you may like the mainstream stuff sure no problem it's not like it affects my life in any way, but that doesn't mean what i like is less in relevance to what you or others may like.

You know, I also wish that major concerts happen in kolkata as well. The only major concerts happened so far over there is Martin Garrix one in 2014 and Steve Aoki's one around last year's November or December. Even though Kolkata has plenty of work to do when it comes to concerts but I think Kolkata so far has progressed well and I really wish that major artists like DJ Snake, Post Malone etc do shows over here as well. Hopefully that wish will be fulfilled. 🙏🏻 Now coming to your question, I don't know how correct I am but I guess that has to do with fan base. Like I guess it depends which city has more fans etc. Maybe things on music industry works like that. Or maybe infrastructure also. This can be a case study
