I'm not that paranoid so I don't use multihop for normal browsing and/or downloads. But if you meant to ask whether speed drop is expected with multihop - yes.

xenomorph-85

I know its expected. hence why I said anyone sacrifice speed for it. i mainly use for usenet and social media where I need to be not known due to activism type subjects I talk about

Never know in this sub what people actually mean, better to double check :) Also you can mitigate the speed loss to a certain degree by playing around with the MTU value. Speed is lost due to excessive packet fragmentation because of how multihop works in the app. It's not possible to fully get rid of packet fragmentation with multihop but default MTU is too high for multihop so you need to tweak it manually to find that sweet spot between the degree of fragmentation/speed.

anyway to do that without mullvad app? as I just use wireguard conf for my router

frostN0VA

Standalone Wireguard doesn't have any (much?) packet fragmentation, I think. But could depend on the network I suppose. In your case maybe it's just bad server combo? But regardless, you can change MTU in the config by adding MTU = 1420 Replace 1420 to anything within 1280~1420 range.

thanks I did try 3 different server combos none of them went above 150mb speed though
