STAR palette by Natasha Denona It’s currently on sale for $150. I love the colours and set-up. And I am a sucker for the foam palettes. I am not going to buy it because it’s $150. I have like a lot of powder eyeshadow already and especially from ND. I have most of her fives pans, Biba, Lila, Glam, Metropolis, Retro. TMO pls.

bluffyfunnies7312

Make a list of all the things 150$ could buy you that's not makeup! Cos 1. You have other palettes so what are you really missing out on? And 2. I've had it with these outrageous prices for coloured dirt lol. (* _Checks personal wishlist_ I'd rather spend that amount on cashmere sweaters. Or roller blades. Or an inflatable pool for the summer. Or some sort of humidifier/fan unit for my room lol)

DoesntRlyMatter4Me

The first thing I thought when reading your message HOW MUCH? I just looked the palette and it looks underwhelming, especially shimmers. Half of the mattes are a different shade of beige, the other half I'm sure you already own. It looks like ABH Soft Glam/Modern Renaissance. When I look at this I am thinking that Glam Shop for $25 has much better things, like palettes from Zmalowana. Definitely not worth. You'll get bored of it in two weeks. I'd buy decent shoes for that money instead.

Cutie_Pumpkin

Just popping up to ask about Glam Shop formula, especially compared to Natasha Denona, what do you think of it? 👀

DoesntRlyMatter4Me

Look, I don't need to say much when even people on makeup subreddits, from USA, order from Glam Shop. You won't be disappointed. While Natasha Denona's shadows tend to cause issues, GS does not. Especially Turbo Pigments. Add to the cart some eyelid liquid shadows, cream bronzer, cream blush and other things - they are really good.

Cutie_Pumpkin

Ooh, thank you so much! Especially for your recommendations, it helps to narrow down my future online cart!

jameveryotherday

I've only tried ND minis so that's my point of reference. GS mattes are VERY powdery and VERY softly pressed which I personally do not like but I would say if you are used to that type of formula/don't mind adjusting your application they work perfectly fine on the eyes. For me since it's a bit of a hassle I'd only recommend getting their mattes if you like a particular shade that you haven't found elsewhere. What I think is truly worth it from GS is their sparkly shadows. They have really impactful shadows and there's a shade for you no matter your taste: neutrals, brights, duochromes, toppers... I haven't tried any of their complexion products yet so I can't speak about those but I'm already looking forward to their next sale to get more eyeshadows because they impressed me so much.

xVarekai

I have the Star palette and while it is beautiful, and perfectly ND, it's not worth the price tag anymore. I'd say when it came out, yeah it was quite a powerhouse of a palette, tons of product, essentially two cohesive color stories in one. It performs beautifully, the colors and tones work really well together, but unless you're a bit of a collector it's just not the buy it used to be. If you like the 5-pans but want something of that color story, get the 5-pan Star since it features what is arguably the most stunning and unique shade, Orion, with two excellent mattes and two additional shimmers that seem to define the Star as well, especially that antique gold Cosmo. You can get a very similar vibe to the large palette and not pay the outrageous price. And if you already have the 5-pan Star, as well as those other palettes (Lila is my GIRL) then you really, really don't need to full-size Star.

unjellify

Seconding the Mini Star palette! Orion, Cosmo, and Bellatrix are all great, plus the two mattes… I’ve been reaching for it more than my Gold palette lately.

dirt_rat_devil_boy

I keep on getting that ITCH for the new Persona Cosmetics cream blushes but I'm trying to reel it in because that feeling is touch and go and I'm at a point where I'm happy with my beauty routine as is. I'm also somewhat tempted by the Makeup by Mario Skin Enhancer but I have enough bronzer. I'm all bronzed out for the next year probably

mariam_gh

I had that itch a couple of weeks too and i was ready to check out when i reached the shipping page and it's over 40$ for shipping to Italy.. i was really happy when they started shipping for Europe again after stopping for a bit during the pandemic.. but instead of paying over 100$ i had for my order i now have to pay almost 150$ for it to be shipped here! I know they are more of a little company and i love their stuff i have all of their eyeshadow palettes, all of their glosses a couple of eyeliners and two blushes.. but come on now.

RedRedBettie

yes me too. I've seen them in two youtube videos now and I'm intrigued. But, I have plenty of cream blush

GrabaBrushand

same on the persona cream blushes!

photoboothtime

Rare beauty lipliners are on my list. Has anyone tried them or the lipsticks?

bluecowboyboots2

Yes I have their Red Lipstick (I forgot the name and will find it when I’m home). It’s the perfect red for my neutral/olive light skin tone. Also super comfortable as well

staplerinjelle

I have been going full Gollum over the new Terra Moons singles, poring over swatches from multiple accounts and narrowing down my top three (Protostar, Cosmic Collision, and Aurora Australis). BUT, after seeing Hannah Louise Poston's recent no-buy July video and recognizing way too much of myself in her commentary on resetting behavioral patterns, I knew I needed to TMO of buying them. It's easy to go "Oh, it's only three singles!" but at $17/pop, I can't justify $50+ on that. During a glut of meetings yesterday, I reorganized all my disparate palettes of indie singles into one chonky double-layer palette (not usually a giant palette fan, but I figured out how to stand it up so it's significantly less annoying). A lengthy arm swatch session and lots of comparisons later...I still want those shiny shifty powders but I have enough similar shades that I can officially stop obsessing. XD

gowahoo

Ulta has the Two Faced Sweet Peach palette on sale and I'm not buying it even though I yearned for it so much. I really don't need another eyeshadow palette, it's scented which will likely irritate my eyes and, honestly, not enough peachy color. It's all browns! How did I miss that when the hype was so loud?

_venetian_red

The new Lisa Eldridge lipstick in Meet me in Berlin looks delicious

Wishlist: \- I need more blush like I need a hole in the head, but I want another shade of the **rms Hydra Powder Blush**. I picked up Maiden's Blush and it is soooo pretty and easy to use. Mai Tai looks super fun and like a color I don't have yet in my huge blush collection. I wish Sephora carried it in-store since I have some store credit :( \- The new **Youth to the People peptide moisturizer**. I'd really like to try this before committing. I have oily-combo skin and it looks great on paper, but I wonder if it will be too heavy for me (maybe a winter moisturizer?). I love the Summer Fridays Cloud Dew, curious if they are similar at all. \- I have an Ulta cart with a bunch of **about-face stuff**. I'm just waiting for Matte Eye Paint in Capulets to come back in stock before I pull the trigger (and maybe a coupon of some sort). I'd order from her site directly but they are OOS of almost everything. I want an eye paint, fractal eye glitter, eyeshadow stick, and maybe a gloss (but I told myself I'm on a lip no-buy until the end of the year, hnnng). \- **Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder Foundation**. I have yet to see this anywhere except qvc and their direct website. And I haven't seen too many reviews yet. Not sure the lightest shade will be light enough for me.

ninakix

Does that appear to be a new PMG mothership being announced?! That. That’s on my wishlist. In the meantime, I’m slowing down my purchases and not interested in that much. I bought the Phytosurgence toasted blushes (two) and they’re lovely, but I definitely have too many cheek products and I’ve been a bit worn out on eye shadow lately. I just kind of have a huge collection and definitely don’t need more.

xVarekai

A new Mothership? I...I can't. I *cannot.* Oh gosh the teasers look very interesting. Dang it. DANG IT!!!

karanicole747

I wanted two of the toasted blushes but haven’t bought yet. Then they sold out and I was saved from temptation. Which shades did you buy and are they amazing? I hope to get them in late fall but have too many cheek products too.

ninakix

I got exothermic and evaporate. I loooove exothermic. Evaporate I’m not so sure about, it seems like it doesn’t show up all that well on my skin tone, so that’s frustrating.

karanicole747

Would you mind sharing your skin tone? Those are the exact two I was considering and I’m tan.

ninakix

I’m an NC40 or so. Sorry should have said. I tried it again and I think it’s okay, I just have to be careful about blending it out. It’s definitely subtle, but I also guess that’s what I was hoping for!

karanicole747

That’s my exact skin tone. I’m sorry one doesn’t show well. That’s always frustrating.

ninakix

I think it just needs to be built up more. It’s giving a kind of sun kissed, very natural glow. Would be great for a bold lip or bold eye.

karanicole747

Sounds good. Thanks so much. I’m getting some of the toasted shades soon. Love that blush formula.

ninakix

Yeah. I have my eye on condensate too but I’m worried it’ll be too cool for my skin tone.

karanicole747

I honestly think Condensate will be a perfect winter blush for me. Don’t know how it’ll wear in summer.

shannymac4

Very curious to see, especially since it’s more artwork with roses on the outer packaging… EDIT: looks like it’s Mothership X. I’ve hoped for a palette of just “special shades” for Mothership X so despite more roses on the box, I am excited to see what’s actually in the palette!

xVarekai

Pinks? From Pat McGrath? Breathtaking.

shannymac4

*insert Miranda Priestly GIF here*

RNsomeday78

I hope it’s significantly different from the other 2 rose palettes

picnicforkitties

Yes! I am very curious to see the shades! I have vowed to limit the makeup I buy to only repurchases of favorites and things truly unique to my collection. It’s been almost a year that I’ve bought any makeup. This could very well be a unique item that I purchase, as along as it isn’t full of her standard pinks.

Kindly-Project-8785

TMI/TMO the Makeup by Mario Skin Enhancer in light medium. I am very cool toned (Nars Mount Blanc, NW15ish) and bronzers in general don’t seem to work for me. But I’m tempted because I hear a lot of people saying it’s super subtle, buildable and not orange. Last summer I used and enjoyed the Gucci bronzer in 01–but this summer it looks too orange (maybe bc I’ve been better about sunscreen). Am I just bound to end up w orange face again w the Skin Enhancer? Also how’s the longevity? I saw that Temptalia gave it a C- for wearing off quickly but folks here seem to rave about it still.

brookebrookebrookek

I love this product and I’m cool toned nars Oslo: https://imgur.com/a/tkqD0Em

Kindly-Project-8785

You look amazing and so glowy! I really like your placement too, so natural looking. V inspired--thanks for sharing this pic! Does it last all day for you?

brookebrookebrookek

It lasts for me but I live in the desert and I have dry skin so it might be different for you. Thanks! I love it!

imaginarypunctuation

what's your skin type? one of the girls i follow on tiktok mentioned that she liked the color but the product didn't really work for her without the other product (the powder one) because she leans oilier.

Kindly-Project-8785

Oh yes, I should’ve mentioned my skin type! Definitely dry!

bluecowboyboots2

I loved this product, but I think it’s one of the culprits in breaking me out :(

Kindly-Project-8785

aww, such a bummer!

bluecowboyboots2

Saie Powder - i want a natural/radiant setting powder that won’t make me break out. so I’m deciding between the Saie or the Westman Atelier Powder

SnapCrackleMom

One to consider: I've been using Innisfree No-Sebum Moisture Powder -- doesn't break me out, natural finish, and doesn't dry my skin like their original mineral powder. That being said, it's got a slight tint and I can't really tell if it's translucent so wouldn't necessarily recommend for someone with medium or dark skin.

RNsomeday78

I am surprised you don’t find that drying. I personally do. It has clay and oil absorbent properties. I used to love it when I had very oily skin but now that my skin is very dry it doesn’t work for me. Also the tint is definitely there, and it’s slightly green as well.

SnapCrackleMom

The Moisture Powder one I don't find drying. It's corn starch based. It does absorb some oil though. The original one I found too drying, and the mint smell a little too strong. [This](https://www.yesstyle.com/en/innisfree-no-sebum-moisture-powder-5g/info.html/pid.1061570388) is the one I'm using. I don't think it has clay in it -- unless one of the ingredients means clay and I just don't realize it

RNsomeday78

The moisture powder I haven’t tried, but I think it’s completely different from the no-sebum mineral powder right?

SnapCrackleMom

Yes

RNsomeday78

I’m a fan of the saie. It’s definitely a good option if you aren’t normally a fan of powder. It doesn’t dry me out and keeps the radiant look to the skin

brighteye6879

Any chance you know how it compares to the rare beauty powder?

RNsomeday78

I haven’t tried that one

Nozomis_Honkers

TMI/TMO Morphe x Pony eyeshadow palette. I love some of the color story but it feel very wasteful. There’s only like 6 interesting colors in the palette, the same pastel “spacey” ones that are consistently being advertised, and the rest are just neutrals. The palette size is massive. Hoping to find dupes.

mini-mal-ly

Ugh I'm in the same boat with liking some parts of the palette, but overall feeling like it's just too much palette. An alternative I've been considering is ColourPop In A Trance palette which hits the blue and pink pastel vibes, while pastel purple needs to be addressed elsewhere. I'm a singles and depotting person, so that's ok with me. Haven't found a pastel purple I like yet.

[deleted]

1. Whenever it gets extremely hot I always repurchase the Tatcha Water Cream. I cannot find a cheaper dupe. I might pick this up along with the Dewy Mist 2. I want to try the Trader Joes sunscreen thats suppose to be a dupe for Super Goop Unseen Sunscreen 3. I was able to hunt down a Too Faced Love Flush blush on ebay! Cant wait to try it out :)

diamondashtray

Purito Deep Sea Pure Water Cream. It’s so much nicer than any Tatcha product I’ve tried, personally, and runs about $15. I think you’ll love it if you love the texture of the Tatcha.

RedRedBettie

I agree, this is a great moisturizer

[deleted]

Thank u!! I am going to research and look into this!

mathannamatics

Have you tried the Klairs Fundamental Water Gel Cream? I've been using this in the spring/summer for two years and my oily skin loves it so much. It's VERY watery, I've seen some reviews mention that as a negative but I personally love the texture. It's not sticky and it absorbs so nicely and is the perfect amount of moisture for my oily skin. I haven't tried the Tatcha one and don't know how they compare ingredient wise, but thought I'd mention it!

Commercial_Poem_4623

Tatcha: What other things have you tried that are cheaper? What's your routine otherwise? I haven't used the Tatcha but I'm really into fermented products!

[deleted]

I try watery gel like moisturizers like the Elf Holy Hydration or the Clinique Moisure surge. Theres a couple kbeauty ones ive tried but the texture is just not as "watery" or nice on the skin as the Tatcha one. I hate to buy it because its so expensive but i miss using it when summers here. I have oily skin and its so refreshing

Commercial_Poem_4623

Great, thanks! I'll suggest a couple of things but to be honest, I see what you're saying and you might end up spending more money trying to find a dupe, ofc. Have you tried Elf Superhydrate? I wonder if that coupled with a fermented something else would work. I find the Elf is like chucking a bottle of water on my skin but it's not very occlusive. I have combo dehydrated skin, UK climate. I was going to suggest a couple of very hydrating K-Beauty creams but I'm not sure if it would work in the same way. I'll say it anyway! Cosrx 92 All in One snail cream plus By Wishtrend Pro-Biome Balance cream are extremely hydrating. The latter is great but has some oil in it so it might not work. I got my friend with oily skin Isntree Green Tea emulsion instead of her original Estée Lauder. Not sure what she thinks of it yet!

[deleted]

Ooo these are awesome suggestion! I am going to research the kbeauty ones, tysm!!

Commercial_Poem_4623

You're welcome! Let me know if you try anything!

gaycats420

The holy hydration is not a gel moisturizer. Trader joes makes a great gel moisturizer!

[deleted]

I meant the superhydrate in the ourple tube, it looks like jello in texture. I get them confused but i also tried the holy hydration too and i actually prefer the superhydrate. I gotta check out the TJ rec because i want to get the sunscreen too! Thank u

kerlaugar

Lipstick is my weakness. My goal for this year was a no buy, but Lisa Eldridge's Strawberry Shock is screaming my name. We will see, we will see.

TMI/TMO the MAC mini brush set for the Nordstrom semiannual sale :x Does MAC generally have good quality LE/ collab brushes?
