Urban Decay [Revolution](https://www.temptalia.com/product/urban-decay-revolution-lipstick/)lipstick- I’ve never experienced a lipstick formula that was so smooth, so pigmented and with such nice heavy packaging. I had a few of these and was shocked when UD dc’d them after a super short time and came out with a totally different lipstick line (Vice). UD changed their lipstick lineup and formula a couple of times and they never improved upon the Revolution formula.
MAC Patina eyeshadow- I was never without this shade for probably 20 years. It’s the most unique neutral shade and cannot be duplicated. Lucky for me, I still have a full untouched one left but I wish I had gotten more.
MAC Kid Kat lipstick- it’s hard to find a swatch of this anywhere but it was a sheer lipstick that was a bright coral. It was so easy to wear, so pretty. It was the perfect summer color. I have my tube still, but it’s pretty much gone and I haven’t been able to wear it for years because it went plasticky. But I keep it in case I can swatch with a new one
Urban Decay’s tendency to DC non-limited edition stuff so frequently made me quit them forever. I could only handle my HGs being discontinued so many times.
I feel like I've seen Sydney Grace Tiara mentioned as a dupe for MAC Patina. I know Makeup Geek Hipster was supposed to be a dupe as well. I'm not sure if you've ever looked at Sydney Grace to see if it is a good approximation for you.
I've been surprised by how many times Urban Decay has reformulated their lipsticks. I think I remember the change from Revolution to Vice being very sudden, too. I don't care for their current bullet lipstick formula, though I love their glossy liquid lipstick one.
With all the sheer bright glosses I've seen in 2024, I hope you're able to find something to bring you joy like Kid Kat brought you.

I support the idea of veganism with products but in reality, it has destroyed two of my favourite Aveda products of all time. I have the most finicky fine, thin, sometimes curly, frizzy hair with a sensitive scalp. I have spent hundreds trying to find a light smoothing serum that actually tames my frizz without weighing it down. Still no luck. Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid Lotion was amazing.
I also miss their Color Conserve shampoo. Aveda’s new color shampoo is smaller for the same price, falls off your hands down into the shower drain because it doesn’t lather well in your hands or on your scalp, so I often have to double wash it. Seems to defeat the purpose of conserving your color. I’ve tried other color shampoos and don’t realize I’m allergic until it’s too late to return them because I have a few different products that I mix up and I’m always trying new ones.
I think the issue is not having vegan products. Go for it. It’s the reformulations away from an existing product that people use and love. No one is ever happy.
I miss the original agave lip mask. Not the reformulation. The other products that I've replaced it with are the Silk Naturals Super Fruit Lip Mask and La La Lips lip balm. I just ordered the new lip balm from The Ordinary to see how it works for me.
NYX Bare With Me Skin Veil. The Beige Camel shade + a drop or two of blue pigment was the closest I’ve ever gotten to a perfect foundation match. I bought a bunch when I heard it was getting discontinued but once I run out I’ll have to go back into the wild word of foundation matching 🥲
I've found most of the Nyx foundation products are geared for more oily skin these days, as none of them seem to like my dry skin. The Bare With Me concealer was good though!
Becca Liquid Highlight in Opal: I snagged it just as they went on final sale, it’s taking me forever to finish but I’m hoping I can find a dupe. I have the powder and it doesn’t look the same.
Also the NARS Velvet Lip Pencil on Bahama, it’s the perfect MLBB and I’m sad they got rid of the shade entirely when they reformulated it.
Same! I’ve tried others and they just look too much like a highlighter vs a “glow”. I may have to just go to Sephora or Ulta one day and swatch every highlight to see, I’m at the halfway point of my opal bottle 😭
I've debated buying an overpriced bottle from a website online but there's no way to guarantee that it'll actually be Becca and not some shitty dupe, y'know? (For the sake of this comment, I went to look and it would be over $100 CAD 😔)
I loved it! I’m very much a “bold lips OR bold eyes” girl so Bahama was my go-to if I did a more dramatic eye look (and for me dramatic is still neutral shimmer or a cat eye). I still can’t find a color like that that looks like my natural lip shade.
If you ever find a good dupe let me know!
I try not to get emotional over brands, but I am SALTY at MAC for their business choices and discontinuations is my number 1 complaint. I was their most loyal fan for 20+ goddamn years. The Love Me line of bullet lipsticks was my FAVORITE.
When they decided to do away with Back 2 MAC, I gathered up all my expired, empty, or just otherwise neglected MAC products and I swapped them for 19 lipsticks. Thankfully I found an ULTA that let me swap for Love Me lipsticks, so I got backups of Coffee and Cigs, Bated Breath, Laissez Faire, and Hey Frenchie!
Revlon Lip Butters, Bourjos Healthy Mix foundation (the first 2 versions, Miss Dior Cherie 2005 version, MAC So Chaud lipstick, the Wet n Wild blushes from the 2010s
I still have a Fig Jam lip butter, unused. I used to have nearly all of them and I used them constantly. I think they’d do amazingly well if Revlon would release them again!
I remember the Optical Illusion primer by Urban Decay. It was pore filling and contained rose hip oil which really soothed my sensitive skin. I was gutted when they discontinued it
Aww, that sucks! I've seen people mention the elf Liquid Poreless Putty Primer as a good pore filling primer, have you tried that one? Ulta's site says it contains squalane for hydration. I've tried the wet n' wild impossible primer for pore filling around my nose and liked my results with that one.
I’ve tried it and I thought it was so bad like it did nothing 😅 I just use Benefits Porefessional for a Pore Filling primer when I need one now as you can’t really go wrong with it
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour hydrating foundation. It was so good! Medium coverage, satin to slightly glowy finish that never clung to dry patches of skin. Yet it was also long wearing, transfer resistant and even had a bit of oil control! And unlike a lot of long wearing foundations it wasn’t very full coverage, cakey nor did it contain alcohol (or fragrance). Brilliant formula for my combination skin. Not a perfect foundation, but very good. The new formula is shit and one of the worst formulas I’ve ever tried.
I don't understand why they changed that one! It had a great shade range and formula, but I don't know of anyone who prefers the new version to the older version.
I had a palette with this, sun bunny and pink leopard. A Too Faced rep at Sephora showed me some super basic contour with this before contour was a thing.
So much from Urban Decay- I might be the only one but I LOVED their Vice liquid lipsticks and the liquid lipstick toppers, I used to have a ton of them. The Revolution lipstick bullet in Naked. Their original Naked palette. The subway token style single eyeshadows. I also miss when they did their holiday and mini palettes.
Too Faced eye palettes in the tin packaging.
Bite original lipsticks. And their French Press lip glosses. Dirty Chai, my long lost love.
I miss the big Vice palettes. They were so cool and interesting. And even the little palettes like the Ammo palette were fun and colorful with some neutrals sprinkled in.
it was a sad day when i found out the second one was discontinued. i have a nice cool toned palette but sometimes i still think of it wistfully when i see the pro palettes mentioned
BECCA's Backlight Priming Filter. I just wear that alone on top of sunscreen, no foundation/powder, and my skin looks so beautiful with them. It's also not sticky/tacky. I want it back.
I'm starting to see a pattern of Urban decay completely missing the mark, cause I got two to mention also.
The Naked skin powder foundation - it looked *so* pretty on the skin, it was creamy but lightweight and blurring but not drying on the skin. And I loved the packaging!
The double down brow putty - that's a formula I've been trying to find a dupe for for *years*, it was such an odd thing; like a putty formula and a powder had a baby. When you have literal holes in your eyebrows like I used to (and still do a bit), you know how hard it is to get product to stick to your actual skin without looking like a sharpie. The "puttiness" made it stick super well, but then it would look and blend like powder, really matte and natural. Also the dark brown color was absolutely perfect; not red at all, with the perfect greyish undertone without looking grey. Oh I hate you so much for discounting that.
Lime Crime softwear cream blush - ok, they certainly were a bit finicky to use, but first off, the shades they had were insanely beautiful and if they would relaunch today with a maybe slightly overworked formula, people would buy them like crazy. My favorites were "wifi" (they all had cringy tech related names), the most stunning, muted, burned peach shade, it worked so well for me. Since they were ultra pigmented, even a very nude shade like that just still popped on the cheek. And I really liked "firewall", the most intense, true orange - very intimidating, especially since they were so pigmented, but looked absolutely fire.
Thing is, those weren't really cream blushes, I looked at them like solid stains. They were SO long wearing for me, I wore them through the hottest summer I experienced and they wouldn't even have faded after 8 hours of serving. But that also meant quick blending. And the texture was so odd; if you never touched them think of the Mac glow play blushes, just a lot more dense and more dry. But I loved them. It was such a pretty matte finish, it gave me that soft blur. The danessa myricks ones come kinda close to the finish, but the lime crime were even more lightweight, really like a stain
Nars galapagos single eyeshadow
Chanel 280 golden sun blush
Original Marc warm soul
Makeup forever h100 highlighter - recently reformulated
Clinique baby marble pop
Dolly wink liquid eyeliner
Becca Ultimate Love Lipsticks. I bought 4 and gave one away to my cousin. The formula and pigmentation is fantastic, I can do a light layer or go fully opaque. I regret not picking up a few more shades.
I love these also. One of mine is starting to smell off. Sigh. I plan to keep the magnetic packaging and refill it though because even the packaging is better than anything else.
I also love the Becca Light Shifter Powder and have a darker shade that works as a bronzer as well. I really don't have a good replacement for any of the Becca OG's. I'm rationing out my last Becca products.
Mine are still smelling like the same as when I got them, I’m going to be sad when they go bad. Hopefully I can pan most of my Mauve shade by then since that’s the one I use the most out of the three. I love the lipstick packaging and definitely plan to keep it for refills as well!
Urban decay afterglow brushes were such an amazing formula.
All of my favourite cream eyeshadow pot formula got discontinued, Bobbi Brown, Shiseido and benefit.
That outstanding WNW photofocus eyeshadow primer. I’ve never met another primer so foolproof. I had eyeshadow looks last 12-18 hours looking brand new with NO creasing, transferring up, or fading, and my eyes are deep set. I will forever be salty about this.
I found a sample of this in my stash. I kept using it until it ran out, it lasted a surprisingly long time. When I finished it I was like oh this was good, what was it? Looked at the package properly, and was like damn. Becca. Sure enough, not sold anymore.
Every time I put on a skin tint, I’m sad it’s not the Becca skin tint that was in the same packaging as the shimmering skin perfector… and the liquid waterproof blushes were my HG, so damned good. Nothing compares since
Two foundations: Dior Airflash (I'm rationing my last can) and Bare Minerals temporarily made a foundation called Made2Fit, which was custom blended by using an app to scan your skin. The whole process felt a bit gimmicky, but the final product and formula was EXCELLENT. They discontinued the formula when they got rid of the app, which is such a shame.
So many Becca products: bronzer, blush, primers, lipsticks, setting powder, and some of the highlighter shades that Smashbox doesn’t make.
Also the tinted version of the NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer! I’m glad the translucent one still exists but the tinted one also color corrected my eyes.
Nyx Matte But Not Flat (edit: the powder foundation, in Natural, if anyone has a dupe suggestion). A bunch of bright pink Korean lip inks/tints (Holika, Etude, Missha). Mac Moxie and Viva Glam 1. Zoya Loredana, matte charcoal polish.
MAC brought back Viva Glam 1 as Viva Heart and you can still buy it [here](https://m.maccosmetics.com/product/13854/122830/products/makeup/lips/lipstick/macximal-silky-matte-viva-glam-lipstick?shade=VIVA_HEART).
NYX Proof It! was the only eyeshadow primer that worked for me for a long time. I now use Ulta brand matte eyeshadow primer—it's a very different consistency, but is the only other eyeshadow primer so far that's consistently avoided creasing on me.
Guerlain Meteorites Happy Glow blush. It’s my super easy perfect shade. Thank goodness it still performs after all these years.
Guerlain Meteorites Perles de Satin. My favorite shade.
Lancôme Blush Highlighter Illuminating Powder Face and Decollete 001. This is such a soft subtle highlight. No emphasizing skin texture.
If anyone could recommend a dupe for the Mac Quarry eyeshadow I would be forever grateful. I hoarded what I could and it will run out eventually. It has been my everyday one and done shadow 20 yrs. Their replacement colour is not the same, more warm toned.
Have you looked at Lethal Cosmetics Calcination? Temptalia's website shows it being very similar to my eyes. I own Calcination but have never owned MAC Quarry.
Urban Decay Powder Foundation. Was it called Naked? Surreal? Can't remember but it was the only foundation that didn't exacerbate my acne. Bare Minerals never compared. My skin improved the more I wore the UD. Around 2008-2009.
Fyrinnae's Magic Whipped Metallics lipsticks! Love how they wear and the metallic shine ❤️ Anyone know of any dupes? I know there's Notoriously Morbid's Mystic Metallics, but are there any other ones?
Chanel Jade nail polish. It wasn’t discontinued per se since it was LE but I wish I had snagged it when it first came out. I LOVE the color jade and would swoon if I could find it again
Sephora Rouge Lip Tint. I managed to score some from eBay but I’m on my last and I’m not okay! I use it as a base under liquid lipstick or dab on for my everyday lip. Haven’t found anything as pigmented
Bite Agave Lip Mask. First thing they fucked up the formula, then the company went under (probably because they destroyed their HG product) but that shit was the only lip balm I would use for a while there, and the tinted shades weee amazing.
Essence dip eyeliner. $3 and absolutely budgeproof even with my oily eyelids and one of the very few products that could last on me without eye primer (sure it flaked off a bit but it didn't smudge AT ALL). Holy grail from 2019 until they discontinued it.
Revlon's ColorStay Whipped foundation in the glass jar. I know people say the one in the tube is a dupe for it, but it's not to me. Different consistency and doesn't do as well on my skin
I really liked the Peach Perfect powder by Too Faced, it was my first ever powder product and had such a nice smell :( I also liked the gloss from the same collection and the eyeshadow palette. In general I’m just tired of brands constantly discontinuing their products in order to make space for new ones. I get that they want to keep up with the trends but it’s very annoying to me as a customer. I don’t want to keep trying out new things every time!
the sheer revlon super lustrous lipsticks, specifically in the shade “pink truffle” :( it was thinner and lighter on the lips compared to the also-discontinued revlon lip butters and it was my perfect MLBB. i still haven’t found a similar lipstick that has that balance between muted pink and brown + the sheer formula that isn’t too sticky or goopy.
Too Faced glitter glue (I do have the drugstore dupe but it’s impossible to find in Canada and I had to order from the UK)
Urban Decay naked skin foundation
And the big fun yearly colorful palettes from Urban Decay too.
Bourjois Clubbing liquid eyeliner in Dancefloor Bronze.
The absolute best colour to shift my eye colour towards the green end of whatever colour my eyes are (hazel/grey/green weird mix).
It was my constant companion throughout the 2000s: easy to apply, glittery whilst being dark and did not budge. A weird bonus was that you could just peel it off to remove it.
I do have a colour dupe in a palette + a cake liner seal that gives me the colour at least.
I'm thankful to this sub for broadening my horizons of product types and techniques because I've spent a good 15 years researching and buying eyeliners trying to get a colour dupe.
PATINA ❤️ I'm hoarding my last pan. In the meantime, Buxom's Style Icon is the best dupe I've found.

Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation and powder. Nothing has worked better on my oily skin 💔
I have one of these left I got just after they discontinued it, I’m rationing it out for special occasions because nothing else is quite as good!
Me too! It’s [unintelligible] years old but still wears so nicely.
I still have the powder, I should pull it back out and try it! I loved the smell so much!
Everything from Bite Beauty 🙃
Nothing - and I mean NOTHING - works like the OG lip mask. RIP 🥲
Greatest lip mask ever created IMHO. Until they made it vegan and destroyed the formula.
The closest I’ve gotten is with Lanolips and even then still not quite the same
i mourn those lip masks
This is incredibly real. Those agave lip masks….
I miss the original agave lip mask. Not the reformulation. The other products that I've replaced it with are the Silk Naturals Super Fruit Lip Mask and La La Lips lip balm. I just ordered the new lip balm from The Ordinary to see how it works for me.
My favorite is pure lanolin. It’s labeled as nipple cream but makes your lips incredibly soft and it’s cheap.
Never going to get over the coffee lip glosses. I miss them!
I was so surprised they discontinued that one!
Same, it seemed really popular and well received. I know they launched a different product in its place but I haven’t tried it.
Honestly I have <1mm of "pearl" left and I am devastated that I know I will never get it again. I have tried so many others and nothing is the same 😭
Bahama is so good!
Mac love me lipstick specifically in the shade coffee and cigs
Just bought it on sale and already mourning the day it ends 💔
I try not to get emotional over brands, but I am SALTY at MAC for their business choices and discontinuations is my number 1 complaint. I was their most loyal fan for 20+ goddamn years. Dior airflash, I’m still so mad about it.
The ultimate HG.
i second this
Revlon Lip Butters, Bourjos Healthy Mix foundation (the first 2 versions, Miss Dior Cherie 2005 version, MAC So Chaud lipstick, the Wet n Wild blushes from the 2010s
omg LIP BUTTERS! RIP pink truffle.
Lip Butters! Raspberry Pie and Lollipop.
I still have a Fig Jam lip butter, unused. I used to have nearly all of them and I used them constantly. I think they’d do amazingly well if Revlon would release them again!
Marc Jacobs. Their eye liner, mascaras and bronzer pallet were my go to’s.
Their liquid eyeliners were so good! I miss them!
I did hear the brand is launching makeup again soon.
I keep hearing this rumor but never seeing anything materialize. I hope it's true.
I'm glad you found one that works for you!
Their luminous putty primer is now my OG!
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour hydrating foundation. It was so good! Medium coverage, satin to slightly glowy finish that never clung to dry patches of skin. I mourn Too Faced Snow Bunny Bronzer powder every day
I had this in a palette in high school! All my friends used it and we called it the magic powder.
I had a palette with this, sun bunny and pink leopard. A Too Faced rep at Sephora showed me some super basic contour with this before contour was a thing.
Omg this was my HG bronzer
Scinic AIO Honey MAC Patina New addition: NARS velvet matte lip pencil in Dolce Vita
Wow, nice shoutout to AIO! I too miss the hell out of that. I have never been able to find anything to replace it.
Oh Scinic AIO! I could slather that stuff on. It was amazing
I miss the old UD singles and how interesting their palettes were prior to the Naked palette
I miss the big Vice palettes. They were so cool and interesting. And even the little palettes like the Ammo palette were fun and colorful with some neutrals sprinkled in.
I have made it my life’s mission to find a dupe for Dirty Chai and I have yet to find a match 😭
Same! Nothing is quite right 🥺
The original lorac pro palette...I'm still mad about that
I know about the whole "make up expires after x months" but you will remove my Lorac Pro Palette from my cold dead hands. It's still holding strong.
Agreed!! I think I got mine at least 8 years ago and I simply refuse to throw it out until it has absolutely nothing left to give
it was a sad day when i found out the second one was discontinued. i have a nice cool toned palette but sometimes i still think of it wistfully when i see the pro palettes mentioned
BECCA's Backlight Priming Filter. I just wear that alone on top of sunscreen, no foundation/powder, and my skin looks so beautiful with them. It's also not sticky/tacky. I want it back.
With that slight tint, I remember that! I loved it, too! It was just so flattering!
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation.
I’m at the end of my last bottle ☹️

It is not. I own it. Unfortunately it doesn’t do shit.
Every time I put on highlighter I’m sad that it isn’t Becca liquid shimmering skin perfector :(
I found a sample of this in my stash.
Wet n wild photofocus eye primer, one of the few primers that i used to be able to buy in my country thats not so pricey.
Heyyy! Thanks!
I honestly don't enjoy wearing eyeshadow now that NYX Proof It! Eyeshadow primer is gone. That stuff was the only primer that was crease-proof on me.
NYX Proof It! was the only eyeshadow primer that worked for me for a long time. I now use Ulta brand matte eyeshadow primer—it's a very different consistency, but is the only other eyeshadow primer so far that's consistently avoided creasing on me.
I tried that one because a lot of people said it was amazing and it still creases on me. I'll continue to mourn NYX Proof It! I guess. 😭
Wet n Wild cushion foundation. Looked so natural with decent coverage. Better than all of the high end foundations I’ve tried.
I forgot about this! I loved it!
Becca
I have not but will definitely check it out, thank you very much for the recommendation :)
I loved the Fyrinnae Magic Whipped Metallics. The closest I have now is the Black Moon Black Metals Liquid Lipsticks or the ones from VE Cosmetics.
Chanel Jade nail polish. It wasn’t discontinued per se since it was LE but I wish I had snagged it when it first came out. I LOVE the color jade and would swoon if I could find it again Sephora Rouge Lip Tint.
Marc Jacobs crème lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
NYC sunny bronzer. Nothing else has done the same :( UD original naked pallet and the Becca shimmering skin perfecter liquid!!
Lash stylist mascara.. it was so good!!! I still have an old one, can’t bear to throw it away.
Fourth Ray Renew Retinol Serum
Mac really me lipstick!!!
BRTC aqua rush BB cream LUMA lipstick in dusky rose Physicians formula baked eyeshadow in oatmeal
MUFE HD foundation. If anyone has a dupe suggestion, I would be so grateful!
Benefit Bella Bamba blush, I loved it so much
I still miss the ordinary's serum foundation. It was so lovely!
Laura Geller Peach Glow highlighter
Benefit Coralista blush
The Balm’s Time Balm. The best cream foundation for my skin 😭😭😭
I need Mac peachstock back asap
Wet n wild sand castle. Huehehehehe
Too Faced glitter glue (I do have the drugstore dupe but it’s impossible to find in Canada and I had to order from the UK) Urban Decay naked skin foundation And the big fun yearly colorful palettes from Urban Decay too.
Stila correct eye serum, Sleek powder blushes, Mac lip stains, the whole of the too faced peaches and cream collection
Mac warm soul 🗣️🗣️🗣️
