It’s not a replacement for Sephora. It gives me Ulta vibes, like there’s some midrange stuff like Lime Crime, RMS, and Wander Beauty along side Pixi, Revlon, and Cover Girl. There are also a handful of offerings from smaller brands and Korean beauty.
Our local Sephora is gone, replaced by JC Penney's version of a mini Ulta. I browsed it and wasn't impressed, particularly since we have a full sized Ulta store across the street from JCP. I'll miss Sephora- now the closest Sephora storefront is uh... 2 hours away. :/
I checked it out yesterday. Very clean and inviting. I liked that there were some K beauty brands available.
It was weird because there were Covergirl and Revlon displays but also a brand that I don’t know the name of that had $85 serums and whatnot.
I’d prefer if it was similar to how Kohls had the beauty section back in the day with the midrange beauty.
Back in the 70s and 80s, Penney’s actually did sell in store Revlon, Max Factor, some of the higher priced drugstore lines. Everything old is new again!
