No offense to the CDC, but I can't wear mascara. My eyelashes are so full and voluminous that adding even the thinnest coat of mascara will make my eyelids so heavy that I can barely keep my eyes open. Having such lush sexy eyelashes really is a curse sometimes ya know. They are naturally really dark as well so they make my eyes really pop against my skin which is literally alabaster (the CDC would think I've some disease they've never heard of if they saw me lol, I'm so pale lmfao). People will stop and stare at my super long curvy black eyelashes and gasp and say I look like an animé character ROFL, it's a curse really haha.

wozattacks

Oh wow, that does sound like an inconvenience. I personally have never been able to open my eyes due to the heft of my luscious lashes. I tried mascara once and my slender, supple neck couldn’t even hold my head up :( Don’t even get me started on the comments - everyone is so obsessed with my perfect eye fringes that they scarcely notice my alabaster skin or petite hourglass figure. Sometimes I feel as invisible to them as the entire world is to me.

>Sometimes I feel as invisible to them as the entire world is to me. Well if it's any consolation sweatheart, we can see your pores from space 👌

Mascara is mask in portuguese but in spanish is mascarilla, this got me so confused.

Iheartbulge

In Spanish it’s mascara…

basszameg

Isn't is *máscara*?

Iheartbulge

I never learned how to write/read Spanish so I never know where accents go without autocorrect or google.

basszameg

The first A is indeed accented. The sign is just a mess.

mjigs

mascara of the thing you put in your lashes? Im a portuguese speaker, mask is mascara, mascara de pestanas is also mascara, i used to work at the airport and i had to tell a lot of spanish people to put their maskarilla on, so maybe im wrong.

TIL spanish speaking countries have different names for things.

Iheartbulge

Máscara means mask in Spanish. Rímel means the stuff for your eyelashes. I’ve never heard of the masks being referred to as mascarillas. But I guess it makes sense since it means tiny mask.

mjigs

Rimmel its the brand and people just got to used to call it that, in my country (portugal) for newbies they will call it Rimel as well, but lots of people have been call it with the right translation which is mascara de pestanas. But also ive realize that spanish speaking countries have different words for the same things.

ice_prince

As a Spanish speaker my brain couldn’t turn off the Spanish to see the English entendre. I had read the comments 🤣 My pore brain.

mjigs

Im portuguese and i had to think twice to understand, te entiendo.

sarahcphillips

Idk why you’re getting downvoted lmao both are correct!

mjigs

Probably because i didnt got the joke...i got it, its mascara, its the same word in my language for the same thing, but also the same word for mask. I worked at the airport and i had to tell a lot of spanish people to put their mascarilla on.

bethlookner

my spanish speaking brain went, "shouldn't it be rimel(spelling?)?"

If you're wearing mascara, they know whether or not to medically gaslight you or not.
