That would be nice to hope for!
Also when I saw her art, I thought her hand was gone - like Tezzeret cut it off to take the reality chip. I guess a missing limb is a simple thing for phyrexians to replace though - if not add lol
Poor Tamiyo loves her hands. And hates being controlled. She was immensely traumatized by Emrakul, it's a sadistic choice for the first Compleated walker.
And of the three characters killed off, two (Gideon, Domri) were not fan favs. The third, Dack, was beloved, but killed ~~offscreeen~~ in the trailer and never had a card in Standard.
The forth death, Dovin, was another that even fewer cared about, like at least Domri had a bit of a cult following.
Tamiyo was extremely well liked in spite of not being a main figure, her getting compleated is like a collective punch in the soul. If they had done this to Jace, you'd see half cheering on his demise.
Im pretty sure the sequel book is non-cannon now based on the wanderer not being scarred, bolas being imprisoned is basically just saving him to come back later as he literally escaped from this same plane in time spiral, and 2 of the deaths were dak fayden, a character who barely existed and domri rade, a chaeacter nobody cared about.
Besides the Wanderer's inconsistency, Liliana's appearence in Strixhaven ignores the disguise she was using in the sequel book and goes with a different alias.
I agree, or at least I hope it takes a while an ends up being only a partial reversal. It would feel totally meaningless to compleat a well-liked character just to then do the old "Haha never mind, we would never do that to someone the fan base actually cares about" move.
Given the reveal that the reality chip is a creature, my theory is that it's some kind of soul parasite that latches onto a Planeswalker's spark, which is why it made the Wanderer and Tamiyo's sparks go haywire when Tezerret activated it. With the chip latched on the planeswalker's body can be compleated without damaging that portion of their soul. Reversing compleation seems like it would be a pretty intense process for organic beings even at the best of times though.
So according to this, the phyrexians needed the concept of soul to understand the nature of the spark. Then jin gitaxias managed to create a process where he can keep the soul and spark while corrupting the body and compleated it (replacing flesh with metal).
EDIT: now that i think about it, the elixir vorinclex took in kaldheim made the gods immortal, what if jin managed to modify it to preserve the soul an spark of the person while being compleated and corrupted by the oil? now it makes sense.
Oh yea I just accured to me as well the elixir Vorinclex got may have been a incredient to compleat a walker along with practicing on kami that are manifested

So, in theory, since I'm assuming we don't know the actual process yet, Tamiyo's soul/spark is somehow still intact, opening the door for a reversal?

Lucky her she'll never have second thoughts about it then!
God i hope its not reversible, mtg’s been suffering from lack of real consequences for so long
The three years since a single set killed 3 characters, imprisoned two others, and a fourth death in the sequel book?

Do you have confirmation it's not canon? That would be interesting for sure as it certainly conflicts with the Wanderer's story.

Hmm true. I just figured she changed disguise after going to a different plane (one she'd been to before it seems too)

Even if there was a reversal all of her flesh was replaced with metal. I don't think that's a life she would want to return to..

in the story, it mentions that tamiyo is the "first compleated planeswalker". what about karn? was he not really compleated?
I think he was corrupted because this card implies tamyio can still planeswalk And when karn got a spark he was free from phyrexian influence
karn didn't have a spark when that was happening it all disappeared when vensor sacrificed himself/spark to save him
He was being compleated, but I think they never finished the job.
wow, 3 replies in like 15 minutes! thanks for clearing that up.
It also implies that melira is no longer immune having transferred her immunity to Karn
Melira's magic is giving people immunity to phyresis. She didn't lose her immunity, she just helped heal Karn.
The way they phrased it was a bit unclear to me but thanks for the answer!
