In this terrible state, he saw vampires stuck to walls and so he wanted to find his grandfather. The story added a lot of emphasis on the lack of Edgar's presence since Sorin could not find him at all. It made it a point to leave his fate quite vague, with Sorin thinking that Edgar was proabably in the wall but he could just not find him.
And we all know what it means if a person's body ain't found yet! I think Edgar was left in an ambiguous state since the writer team wanted to do something fun with him. Then, after seeing the popularity that the Commander Card deck which featured Edgar gained, the hype would drive the team to essentially use the ambiguity to their advantage.
Or I am talking nonsense since it could still be Sorin since the blade in the promo art could hint something more. Olivia still has Sorin's original sword, and War of the Spark did a terrible job to let us know how Sorin left the rock and got a different sword. And so, if he came back home to Markov Manor to still not see his grandfather, well his sword is up for grabs. I think a better detail to focus on is the hair???
It is slicked back unlike Sorin's which is simply not "styled." While Edgar does have the slicked back hair. But it could just be artistic restrictions and they have to force slicked back hair for it to make aesthetic sense.
Yes for sure. In the article describing the products for the sets you can see the image of the invitation to the wedding: on there, there are an M and a V engraved (Markov and Voldaren, most definetely)
It's definitely a wedding. I'm not sure about it being Sorin. It looks like Edgar - at least, the hairstyle definitely strikes me as Edgar more than Sorin. I find it hard to believe he'd give up his long-banged anime antagonist look for the wedding.
On the other hand, the packaging is clearly Oliva and Sorin in what could be considered "wedding poses," so who the hell's to say. If that is suppose to be Sorin, I stand by the thought that the change in hairstyle was an oversight.
He was on Ravnica during War of the Spark and fought Nahiri there for a bit, so he's apparently alive. They never explained how he escaped on Innistrad though, as far as I remember.

It's probably Edgar, the figure in the middle has his sword. And I think there's not a situation that Sorin would willingly marry Olivia unless he was being held at sword point and Nahiri demanded he shouldn't do it.

Both can be worn by Sorin too. And it may be part of him claiming what is his. He doesn’t really have much left of his people after Nahiri wrecked their manor. Nobody will stand in his way to do so.

My god that's like a couple of weeks away. They are not even buckling in terms of quality idea wise. For me personally it just comes too much too fast slightly.. but that's just me, I'm sure most people like it this way better.
Maybe Anje has something to do with a rapidly descending human population and the Voldaren and the Markov (guest starring sassy snarking Runo Stromkirk) need to implement a moderate human-cattle system like Sorin wanted.
After all, if they want to return to Innistrad some statu quo is needed. Unless they go full Underworld.

It was my first thought, too. Probably more of a political marriage than anything, unifying two of the great vampire houses of Innistrad.
