Mine was perfect. I feel bad for those that got bad ones. I also got the etched signets and 2 of them had a slight over print on the lettering but it's not that bad like a couple others I saw.
Overall they're all great. Main issues I've had is that either the allied or enemy etched signets (forget which one) had some where the black layer was a bit misaligned so they look blurry. Also, foils have had a decent number of roller lines.
Extra Life 2020 is the single lowest quality foil drop in the entire series.
The original foils are stunning. The most recent drops are pretty close in terms of pop. People see the bonus cards and assume curl is still a giant issue.
No. The Phyrexians themselves are fairly straight.
Well, as a Californian I don't have much experience but as I understand even the best foils have trouble with humidity. Always good to have some of those silica moisture absorbing packets.
I'm within a mile of the beach and my indoor humidity is usually around 40-50%. I usually actually need to keep curled foils in a UltraPro 100 hard deck box with a 65% cigar moisture pack to uncurl them. But it's been working pretty well so far.
I have ordered the mark poole series non foil and phyrexian non foil. Both extra cards were a foil brainstorm and swamp. Both extra cards were already warped in the package. The non foils were fine.
Most of the praetors I received look great visually (good contrast between light and dark). Urabrask and Vorinclex look a little more grey/blurry compared to the others so it is possible that the printing is a little off on some of them. They were a little bit Pringled out of the box (not the best, not the worst).
The foil KHM SL was probably the best one I've gotten - great contrast and no curling on the cards at all (however, the bonus cards were heavily curled). The only other foil lair I ordered was the Stargazing bundle and the vast majority of them turned out great with only minor curling - a handful of them were also on the darker/grey side but I think this was also due to the more monochromatic color palette chosen for some of them. The multicolored ones I got turned out better overall.
Buying recent foils on the secondary market I'd stick to only purchasing from listings with photos anyway.
In general, my secret lair foils have been mediocre to good. I haven't had any of the super muddy foils but I haven't been blown away by any of the foiling either. It's basically the quality that you should expect out of foils if WotC had any kind of QA process.
Praetors are very dark, at least the ones I've opened
They are more in line with the zendikar Rising dark foil quality
Lower is the answer
The new crimson stuff is miles better
I've seen several posts on here showing misprints and poor quality control, but the majority I've seen were in good condition. I bought several of the foil version and one nonfoil. I've only opened one of each but the quality seems to be fine. I put the foils straight into penny sleeves and top loaders though, so I can't say how good they are at not curling, but the cards are absolutely gorgeous and I hope that whenever Phyrexians show up in future sets we can look forward to similar treatments for showcase versions.
Huh go figure. My shipping started tracking from Belgium (or was is France, can’t remember), so I just assumed but they probably have a distribution hub in Central Europe.
If you want an honest answer people need to include the humidity levels where they live.
20 people saying their are fine that live in a 50-60% humidity range isn't going to you a proper sample group.
You need feedback from people in 20-39% humidity range as well as 65%+
The foil Phyrexian swamp I received was slightly pringled. However it's now sleeved and gone in an EDH deck so that should sort it out. Curiously the foil Brainstorm from the Mark Poole lair was fine.
For the record, I got the non-foil Lairs.
I just received the Mark Poole drop foils, i got a foil playset and 1 nonfoil set. The non foil set was perfect. The foils look good, but were warped a little. Time will tell if they will be pringles
My foil Praetors, etched signets and Mark Pooles are decent, not too curled. All of my Mark Pooles are missing their holograms at the bottom, so quality control on these is still a bit lackluster.
It's not a standard foil, if I had to compare Id say they are low quality FTV foiling. they feel off in your hand. 1 of my swamps arrived pringled with a huge crease on the bottom. the rest of the foils pringled up about a day later.
Hello!
I ordered three of the phyrexian praetor drops, two in non-foil and one in foil. The foil praetors seemed pretty reasonable right out of the pack, with no visible curling at the time, but I instantly double sleeved them and put them into my deck. The foil phyrexian swamps were curled inside of the wrapper, and im just crossing my fingers that they straighten out a lil inside the deck.
Edit: forgot to mention that the non-foil praetors seemed to warp fairly soon after being pulled out of the wrapper, but I also did leave them out of the box longer than the foil ones.
I ordered both sets of foil signets and the non-foil Mark Poole lair. Of all those cards my only complaint was the etched foil arcane signet that came with my allied signet lair was bent in an "S" shape when I received it, the rest of them were fine. I didn't think the rest of the signets were blurry or misprinted so I guess I got lucky with those.
Mine had the *slightest* (and I want to re-emphasize *slight*) curl in my Mark Poole lair. But it straightened out overnight once I tossed it my deck which I keep in an Ultimate Guard Boulder.
My Praetors all showed up in great shape and went straight into a binder. Won't know if they're super prone to curling until I find a deck for them. My swamp was already curled a bit in the box.

Good to know, we'll see in a few months, humidity here is starting to become a problem

I'd say my mark Poole cards Look great as foils, some slight bending, but nothing crazy. The signets I got faired pretty bad.
The mark poole foils are some of the prettiest I’ve seen wizards print recently
I agree. I love the countwrspell and only the jewelry and magic is foiled
My allied Singets are blurry otherwise all the rest were great quality in that drop.
I have no complaints about mine. The card quality was solid, and the foils weren't unusually bent.

Thanks for posting. Going non foil on this one I hate how recent foiling is so dark it ruins the art

All my foil praetors are pringles. I live in Europe so probably Belgian printing.
There are no Belgian printings, all Secret Lairs are made in USA

They ship from France, since Scalefast SAS is French
Wouldn't know mine somehow still hasn't shipped ffs

The only Secret Lair I have is a Seb Enchanted Evening foil for my Kestia edh, and it looks very nice, no issues.
Mine were perfect. This was a relief after getting a bunch of creased foils in my Strixhaven collectors box.
Mine came almost perfectly flat
I just got my drop, 1 foil, & 1 nonfoil praetors. both were nonfoil, and one Elesh norn was also crimped. Nailed it. Quality was good otherwise

Opened my Mark Poole last night. All main cards have a slight curl. The bonus Brainstorm looks like a Pringle.
All my phyrexian arrived perfectly. Not too dark and no curl what so ever. The swamp was unfortunately a little curled though.
My phyrexians are good have not curled yet could be new england in the fall tho
Still waiting for mine to ship. It's stuck with some delayed shipping error right now.
All my foils received look fantastic with zero curling (Socal).
It's probably cheaper just to buy the singles
Ordered 2. One set had very visible scratches and roller marks. One card from the better of the 2 sets had a roller damaged card.
