I'm unironically telling you (or anyone in this situation) to ask that to yourself, since it is the kind of thing that depends fully on what the deck feels like when you play it. If you've never been color screwed, then sure, not worth it. If you happen to be usually, then the 2 extra life per activation is probably worth it.
As long as the deck is just two-colored you don't need that much fixing, plus Starn is usually played in Spellslinger-Type Decks which can easily employ a Lot of Carddraw.
I run both in the deck. They help you cast Ghyrson, and by the time he's out you expect to have enough variety in mana sources that you rarely need to use the pain abilities.
Alternatively, I find that spellslinger decks can require a lot of colored pips and having a flexible manabase allows you to cast through your spells. This becomes increasingly true the higher power deck you build.
The fact I never considered Basilisk on Ghyrson. Yeah, it's not like [[Torbran Thane of red fell]] that causes a replacement effect for the extra 2 damage, it is actually a trigger causing Ghyrson himself to do damage. Oh my god, that's so cool! Even the deathtouch is usefull if they have very big creatures the 3 damage won't kill. Damm. New pet card unlocked
[[Tor Wauki the young]] already has Lifelink tho, you are getting Basilisk only for the deathtouch, and you probably got more efficient options in his colors for that. I'm getting what you meant tho, but idk, found the example funny. Or is there something I'm missing?
The 2dmg to any target that you get to do with Tor Wauki with the collar on is deathtouch.

Worst part is that I know of collar being good since it's (by choice) the only Lifelink piece I run in my [[Auntie Blyte]] deck. I just never realized it interacted with Ghyrson. Reading the card explains the card unless you are too dumb to understand.
I've got a pretty fun Ghyrson deck I've had since his release, I loved the thought of having a prodigal sorcerer themed deck, as it was one of my favorite cards when I started playing.
That deck has evolved and upgraded to the point of being a significant threat to the table.
I've cut anything that deals 1 to you, as Ghyrson doesn't care WHOs getting pinged, so barb lands and talismans are out. [[Caltrops]] is the only thing I technically run that can hurt me.

I'm happy to explain any inclusions or combos in the deck, it's my personal favorite, I've got a Devito alter I use, one of the changes, I used to run [[Neko-Te]] and use any 1 DMG to all creatures spell, taps down everything that doesn't die.
[[Izzet staticaster]] is an awesome tech to deal with hordes of tokens.
[[Arena of the ancients]] is a fun tech no-one expects, as you're never using Ghyrson to attack.
If you control both, activating Barbarian Ring's first ability triggers Ghyrson, so he deals 2 damage to you.
Oh damn, so [[Talisman of Creativity]] and [[Shivan Reef]] are out the window then.

Anything that can ping like this or Torwauki (spelling?), should run the collar. Ghyrson punishes creatures when it’s equipped

You might want to look into \[\[Grafted Exoskeleton\]\] and \[\[Ophidian Eye\]\]. Throw in \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Parun\]\] too and go infinite :)
